- The Blix Dubbel is a feature-complete utility electric bike with extra large off-road tires! It comes with a sturdy rear rack that can be used for a passenger if you get the pad and pegs, two integrated lights, and steel fenders. Excellent bags, baskets, and child seat options too. Deep step-thru frame is easy to mount and stand over. Adjustable handlebar and seat post offer good fit, but the bike only comes in one size. There are three nice color options, the 8-speed drivetrain is above average, and the hydraulic disc brakes have motor inhibitors. Streamlined smartphone app allows for trip planning with GPS, locking the bike, and adjusting from Class 2 to Class 3 high speed performance. Very powerful hub motor, high resolution pedal assist, trigger throttle on the left, sturdy Wellgo pedals, and two bottle mount locations. The 3.3" extra-wide tires provide stability, float, and traction. The fork and fenders are steel, so they may rust if scratched. The bike is fairly heavy, and the kickstand hangs down low. Separate keys for the dual battery option, charger is light and compact but kind of slow, bike is very heavy.

Nice-looking and functional. The competition in this space of compact cargo bike is really heating up.
Yeah, Blix did a great job with this one. If the kickstand could still be double leg but stow a bit higher, it would be close to perfect for the price... maybe the battery packs matching too ;)
Really sharp looking and functional bike Court. Not something I'd want to load up into a car to go ride due to weight but a really affordable car replacement with plenty of hauling ability for city living. 🤙
Take the light off of the fork crown and move it to one of the eyelets on the side of the forks. That way it will be more visible. A lot of Dutch bikes with front racks have their light mounted there.
seat looks comfortable and i love the kick stand
Yeah, even though the kickstand hangs down, it works pretty well when deployed :)
Front suspension is a must where I live
What is going on lol, this is the second Blix in row that i actually like! This company is stepping up their game imo!
My only gripe is no USB and the controller location, i hate the controller location more than the bundle of wires at the bottom bracket.
Nice. 👍
I love all the mounting eyelets. Most novice shoppers probably aren't looking for those but will appreciate them down the road.
Would be interested to see a test at full weight capacity. If I'm reading the spec sheet right you can have up to a 250 lbs rider and a 150 lbs payload capacity for a total of 400 lbs. This is significantly more than the RadRunner for example all while having what appears to be less bracing (smaller tubes and less crossbars)
Yeah, this thing has one of the highest weight capacities around, based on what I was told by Blix. The rear rack is actually rated to 200lbs vs. 150lbs on the Blix Ultra. I think the smaller wheels improve strength, and maybe Blix is just pushing it with their recommendation vs. some bigger companies that are more conservative (Specialized, Trek, Giant etc.) which never go over 300lbs from what I've seen.
To me this bike does not look nearly as well thought out as a Rad Runner.
@@michaelcharach What missing? Seems like a better bike to pedal for 80ish miles.
You mentioned the reflective strip on the tire… can that be removed?
This is better than the Lectric expedition but more expensive. The concern is the center kick center stand position being so low as Court said
Thanks for the input! Does the frame also seem larger on the Blix Dubbel? Some of the Lectric ebikes seem small to me.
Thank you so much for a detailed review, does the Dubbel have 'shock' abortion?....i.e. so it doesn't jar you esp on dirt/gravel road
Damn would’ve liked a front shock. Looking for a second bike that I can ride with a throttle which I can also let shorter people ride.
This could be an affordable speed-pedelec in the UK/EU.
I feel this one is a tough sell, at first glance, when compared to a Lectric XP 3.0. Blix gets hydraulic brakes and more payload capacity, but gives up the front suspension and it's more than "Dubbel" the price. Would you say the build quality feels better than the Lectric?
Yeah, Blix has always had great built quality in my experience... for the price. I think it's probably similar to Lectric. The lack of suspension is less of a deal killer here because of the upright body position and high volume tires. Suspension would add even more weight, probably have limited travel, and increase frame flex feeling I suspect. Close call, both bikes look good to me.
Yeah, I have an Engwe EP-2 Pro (very similar bike to XP 3.0) and feel the same way. I can comfortably carry my weekly groceries on my EP-2 and that's all I need an e-bike to do. If I ever do need to haul a bigger load, I'll just hook up a trailer to my EP-2.
Looks like a Rad runner
Yeah, I agree with you, similar design and parts.
That kickstand is a deal breaker. Bye
Yeah, it’s not something I was thinking about initially, but then hearing it drag multiple times definitely caused some consideration. Maybe it would be easy to swap for a side stand. It’s definitely great for loading the bike, much more stable, but it hangs pretty low…
