F A C T S. I just had a mental health crisis 5 days ago when I quit. I couldn't calm myself down. Feeling so much better already and never want to put myself through that again.
@@dgenerationbigestfan you got this bro it gets easier I can sleep way better now the first 3-4 weeks were the worst all I thought about was smoking cold sweats while sleeping couldn’t eat but now i sleep so good and I have dreams alsmot every night something I ain’t experience in 13!plus years my anxiety is going away and I feel way less depressed keep your head up better days are ahead I also watch so manny videos of UA-cam if people going thru what we’re going thru it was huge help knowing there’s so manny people like us
@@nikolasb8313 I miss smoking more then anything people around me still smoke and sometimes smelling it close by is the hardest bit the only version I ever knew of my self was a high me I need to see what would my life be without weed at least for a while good luck to you if you in this video is a good start
I legitimately thought I was crazy, or the only person experiencing the emotions and physical side affects when I would try quitting smoking. There's just something about knowing there are other people going through and then conquering these feelings that have given me so much more motivation. Thank you Dr. Frank and everyone in the comment section.
Same here. I’m on day 66 and feeling so disconnected. Brain fog bad and just feel completely off at times. Weird feelings. It’s hard to describe. I really don’t even crave weed anymore. Was a bad ending between me and the drug and I was not getting any enjoyment from it. I just want to feel “normal” or better soon! Sleep has suffered as well. Not complete insomnia but horrible dreams that make no sense at all. I’m trying to stay strong for me and my family.
2 months going on to 3 after smoking carts for 3+years i didnt know others also had health deterioration or able to get addicted im not interested in going back took my life back im keeping it
I believe some people don’t feel any withdrawal but I assume those people don’t smoke daily and haven’t been smoking for years. Anyone who says the symptoms are bs are lying to you and themselves lol
Yeah bro I’m with you I literally feel like maybe I’ve gotten schizophrenia or something. And I just don’t know if I’ll ever be able to use my brain the same again
I’m on day 7 and i’m just now starting to feel normal again. The lack of sleep and inability to eat was awful but i’m really excited how much better i feel every day and i’m looking forward to how much i can accomplish in the future. Best decision of my life was quitting 💯
Wow, mind control. Maybe I should quit... Can you will others to do your bidding? Can you move objects by levitation? Alright! It’s been 7 hours; can I guess which card you are holding? F it, I’m gonna go pack a bowl.
@@AddictionMindset You forgot the best supplement in the world to kick dopamine based addictions, L- Dopa in the form of a Mucuna Pruirens extract. It helped me quit a moderate THC and nicotine addiction quite easily. What is the very useful about Mucuna is that the body takes only as much L - Dopa to get your dopamine levels to baseline, when you are starting to have a withdrawl. When you notice that you get a "high" from the supplement, you know that your body already produces the baseline dopamine on its own, and it does not need L - Dopa from an outside source, so you can stop taking it.
I’m in day 3 with no weed. Withdrawals are surprisingly intense. Hoping it doesn’t flare up on me out of nowhere, but at least I know what to expect when o an extent. Doing the 90 day detox, but I think I’m done for good. 💯🤙🏻 These videos have been very helpful.
One week from today will be my two month mark of a THC free life. I am 51 years old and started smoking weed everyday at the age of 16. I was also diagnosed as severe ADD in the third grade and put on Ritalin from the age of 8 to 18. I had a 12 year period of sobriety from the age of 29 to 41 from weed. The last ten years I have been smoking hydro bud everyday. Yesterday I felt a BIG positive change in my clarity of thinking and energy levels. I think I am getting my dopamine levels back to base level. This video was perfect timing for me. I and going to now start working on giving my body the healthy and natural dopamine that my ADD brain craves... THANK YOU Dr Frank! I just ordered Dr. Lembke's book...
@@AddictionMindset I'm sure it is. LMAO, good luck on your grift. I'm have no doubt you've tapped into the lowest common denominator. You should feel proud and good about yourself.
I wish my dear dad stopped smoking cigarettes and weed, he also was smoking it since he was 16... last month he passed away at 62 from a heart attack from smoking, it clogs the arteries, explains why he had lower back and leg pain from it. He even tried his best to improve himself with the diet but it was too late.
Hey all, im currently at 15 days without adult content, and 8 days without thc (was smoking 15- 20 times a day for about 7 years) knowing what to expect on the withdrawals side of my journey has helped me face them successfully so far. Im already starting to connect better with the people i care about most. Thank you, your videos are making a difference for me like im gonna be for the people in my life!
I kicked nicotine six weeks ago. Made me extremely happy. Currently on day five detoxing from cannabis. The worst effects I’m feeling now is constant hot flashes and sweating. I’ve pretty much exiled the thoughts of smoking again. If I’m gonna go through hell, I’m gonna make sure I only have to do it once.
Psychedelics are just an exceptional mental health breakthrough. It's quite fascinating how effective they are against depression and anxiety. Saved my life.
Yes, dr.sporessss I have the same experience with anxiety, depression, PTSD and addiction and Mushrooms definitely made a huge huge difference to why am clean today.
@@AddictionMindset first week sober haven’t smoked or drank anything since. But I do get tired by 6 pm my body tells me to go to sleep but I cannot with toddlers. So I suck it up and just rest at night when they go to bed.
Good job brother. I’m currently 8 days free, days are getting better. Hope I’m where you’re at in 6 days, but we’ll deal with it as it comes! Keep it up
It's so hard to imagine this guy hitting a juul, chewing dip, getting and chugging monsters and the rest. But absolutely inspiring bro. Just did a 21 hour fast with a hard work out & cold shower. Onto quiting weed again. Thank you.

So far on day 6 of no weed, the withdrawals are crazy, my sleeping is whack and the mood swings are real, I go from being fine to being angry and crying in seconds…these videos have been a huge help and is giving me hope, definitely plan to keep going!

I have tried to quit weed several times before, but only because there were outside forces that made me quit (tests at work, for drivers licence etc.). But it wasn't until I made the decision 1 1/2 month ago to really quit, not for others but for me, that I actually managed to quit. In large thanks to you Dr. Frank! Thank you for your insight and guidance through these videos, it really has made my life for the better and I'm sure it just will keep getting better from here on out. Appreciate what you are doing for so many people, keep up the good work!
I thank god for finding this. It really showed me I can do this. If you were wondering and it’s usually typical so I’ll share. But at 13 I smoked a little weed from a family member who didn’t know I did so. From then on as it was in the household plentily I used almost everyday then every single day for the last 4 years. I’m now 17 dealing with mind issues I won’t go into.. just say I lost my way at 14 completely and did stupid stupid (things) iykyk. Anyhow you do great things for many people sir. Stay clean and happy man.
Playing my acoustic really helps me for some reason. I start, feeling pretty bad, and next thing I know I’m smiling and rocking back and forth and singing, and come away feeling like I just had a great walk lol
Last year I stopped smoking because i couldn't find any. I didn't care much either but i used to smoke 2-3 times per day. When i stopped i got really paranoid ( changed phone number- changed ID- bank card, etc), my heart was beating weird, no energy. Sometimes vision got weird. I felt bad. Stop slowly, don't go cold turkey. Start running, running is amazing for rehabilitation.
I've read Dopamine Nation and I love it! Along with Andrew Huberman podcasts, the content gives me a better understanding on how Dopamine works, which is helping me with my sobriety!
You’re helping us more than you might realize, just wanna sincerely thank you for what you do! I’m a week sober from thc and I plan to quit dipping tobacco in the near future. It’s really challenging but these always help out
I quit nicotine around two years ago, I was at 20 cigs a day. What really helped me where nicotine patches, can only recommend. It's not magically but I was at least able to sleep and could concentrate on all the haptic stuff I was missing (the smoke, the self-rolling of cigarettes, holding them etc.). Someone recommended them to me and I recommend them since…
I quit smoking nicotine easily. Weed is way harder for me to quit. Nicotine just makes me angry for a week or two, but when i quit weed im not even myself anymore. Cant even function without it
This is actually really good advice for people to quit weed, I used your advice to quit nicotine and never properly thanked you for it, so, thanks! 7 months off of it
I am six days away from a month nicotine and cannabis free! Came across your channel the day after quitting, and it has been a tremendous help. I remember binging and taking notes as if sitting in class when I would be suffering from insomnia. From the general timelines, to withdrawal management, the personal insight, the wonderful community sharing their experiences, and the tips & tricks to overcoming addiction... it has all been very impactful on this journey of mine. I previously didn't think it'd be possible to get this far. Thank you, and great video as always!
@@OliHandy2008 I've unfortunately relapsed back in October, times were tough. Thankfully I had the will to try again and am now just over two months sober again. Thx for the check-in!
weed saved my life, I'm not addicted, I stop regularly to reset my tolerance and I've never had a problem with weed. Weed doesn't affect everyone the same. If it can save your life by all means use it. I am Bipolar 1, insomniac, and have struggled my entire life with self unaliving to the point of several failed attempts. I have tried sooo many different things to heal and weed is the only thing that has made my life worth maintaining. I have reached a more peaceful state and can now currently disarm any feelings of self harm as soon as i get them. Just because something is a vice for you doesnt mean its a vice for everyone. We arent all degenerates just trying to party, some of u want to heal. My first unaliving attempt was at 12 and i didnt try weed till 18 for more context before someone tries to blame my mental issues on the weed. I have had my diagnosis since i was 8.
Yea people don't understand that big pharma wants you on all kinds of meds but those are ok because its "MEDICINE" lol! meanwhile these people who were smoking weed were heavily addicted to wheat/dairy/refined sugars/energy drinks/coffee you name it all that loaded carbs and garbage making you feel lazy sleepy and dumb/fogged out. it's amazing how stupid people can be to not figure this out . Oh no lets just blame weed its gotta be the problem LOL this channel/video is a joke.
Did you ever watch this video? Did you seriously come here to belittle individuals struggling with addiction just because YOU aren't? The "what-about-me" effect
I am quitting now. I tried multiple times quitting cold turkey but the withdrawals were way too intense. Less and less every day is the key for me I believe. Until I am completely free. Good luck. Stay strong. Aim for a better you.
This was fantastic and helps explain the anxiety, fatigue, drained feeling etc that comes after binging out on dopamine. So much explained!! Thank you.
Just wanted to say thank you so much for your video. You gave us such a different tips that made me to be strong. There is no other video out there actually explained in every single detail because you went through and you shared your experience. now every time I go through hard time quitting smoking , I see your video to boost up my mental health and I feel like I’m doing okay. I’m 41 years old and I’ve been smoking weed since I’m 22 years old. I’ve had a billions, attempt of quitting but never had a successful attempt.Last time your video made me to sober up for two weeks, but for some reason I went back .this time I’ve done it again and I’m on my 8th day and I’m doing good because I’ve been watching your video every day to boost up my mental health. Certain things that you said like take as you are ill, you’re going through changes I am taking as I’m not well and guess what day by day I’m feeling better even though I’m sweating the night in my depression levels are high still I got my appetite back by 4th day time, and I sleep well, a little before last 3/4 days . Your video made me prepare what I’m expecting. I can’t thank you enough you are an angel from god 🤲🏽 You people can do it .
I’ve kicked nicotine which seems much easier than quitting weed, which is my next step. It’s been over 10 years of smoking. At first I thought it was helping me, but I realize now I was in denial, and it’s actually holding me back. I love that a community like this exists. Seeing all of the comments here gives me motivation. Thank you all!
Been clean from heroin fet and weed I still take methadone so it’s a little bit of a cop out but after so many years of addiction you can’t do it by yourself you will relapse I think tapering down and changing lifestyle habits are what actually work as we speak at this time in the morning I have my beats blaring while I freestyle and do yoga I noticed that fasting aka starving myself has helped in this recovery ,everyday is a struggle but everyday we push I hope my message can help future addicts don’t give up love y’all
While he did say fasting can be helpful, we’re all different and I don’t think a sense of starving yourself would be beneficial for you, as you are psychologically as well as physically learning to cope with life without the dopamine hit. Something along the lines of say not eating past 8 pm, and then eat again at 11 am, sounds reasonable! I would say be kind to yourself, and guide yourself toward more peace and fulfillment…. (as he was referring to towards the end of the video), by putting efforts into doing more things that will bring more satisfaction and joy in life. Like working on a project you’ve always wanted to do, or joining a club or a group you might find interesting, and may also help to build some new healthy connections. Best regards!
5days sober and am listening to your UA-cam channel everyday. Can’t thank you enough for this since you put it here for free normally it’s really expensive to have a great advices like this. I do weed for 10years since ( 18 now am 27 ) I try to stop once for 6month then I come back because weed is legalize in Thailand 🤣(we actually have good stuff here) but I do felt bad every time I used it to escape some feeling and reality.
I'm in my 40, and I'm 7 weeks off of tobacco, marihuana, and porn. I was physically sick, vomiting, had pains and no sleep. I'm feeling better and better now.
I smoked weed for 42 years it served me well but the last 10 years it took over my life. Now been clean for 100 days. Worst thing was severe insomnia. Gave up caffeine too. Still taking nicotine only. This video is really good advice, thank you. Chasing pain.
Thank you Dr.Frank, you helped me so much on this hard way out of addiction into a meaningful life. It’s the beginning but I hope I will reach my goals and you made me clear that it’s not only on motivation but more on discipline. Much love from Germany 🇩🇪
Honestly if u wake up and have cravings to anything just go I'm not a pussy my brain and body are u be surprised how annoyed and petty u get at cravings to not do them
Such a great quality video. You really nailed teaching this subject in a clear, concise and complete way. I'm impressed. And also, as a recovered addict I couldn't agree more with your content.
thank you Dr frank 28 years on weed and your videos have helped me so much got through my first week today and feel like i am taking my life back i am 44 on september 11
I can live without THC but when it comes to those nicotine it's been the hardest thing to break from. I actually can smoke weed in moderation but the cigarettes have been a battle for years. It's by far the hardest substance for me to come off on.
It is really hard but you can do it, it just takes more time but eventually its over, just smoke weed or eat edibles couple of weeks and you will forget that you ever smoked hahhah halfy just kidding there. I have been now 12 days without nicotine and yeah I just survive day by day until suddenly I realize I'm not even missing it anymore. Have been eating some edibles to make this easier and soon will quit that too since I'm feeling enough strong already and quitting weed is nothing comparing to nicotine :)
very good video. i will definitely take all of this into consideration. you're just about the only one i can sit and watch without getting bored. pure education.
I've recently quit both nicotine and Weed. I thought taking shrooms would help (cause they're the best) but I realized everytime I was taking shrooms it was delaying my body from hitting dopamine base level.
Lmaoo I tired quitting nic and thought shrooms would help and then I thought I had died and my Freinds had to convince me I wasn’t and I relapsed that night
This is a good video for people who have addiction problems of all sorts, not just to cannabis, but I think something should be clearly stipulated - cannabis itself, on a molecular level, is both non-toxic *and* non-addictive. For many people with chronic pain, PTSD, treatment-resistant depression and neurological diseases like MS, cannabis is a liver saver, not a life ruiner. I don't mean to take any stock away from your video as it is brilliantly done, but I think a bit of perspective is needed (judging by some of these comments).
Love your content man! There's one thing where our paradigms are different. I'd say cravings are always psychical and never physical. Cravings come if you want to smoke but cannot smoke. The dopamine depletion addicted people suffer is called urge. The urge is physical. For instance with cigarettes the urge lasts for 7-10 days and then is gone forever because the receptors fell asleep. Still you can have cravings for smoking cigarettes for the rest of your life - because you still believe that there are benefits of smoking - this is the actual craving and it is 100% psychical if you suffer this after being clean for a year. The good thing is that the cravings are based on deceptions.
I highly recommend psychological literature. Easy way to quit smoking by Allen Carr is a great book to make sense of the deceptions and to ultimately not have the psychical craving you're talking about.
u have no idea how much u have helped the whole world by ur free advices ,,, can u believe ppl in saudi are getting better from addiction using ur videos specially cannabis videos lol i'm sure u will be surprised probably happy ... :) thank u
How long did you smoke weed for I been smoking since I was 14 im now 41 I also smoked cigs but quit those 13 years ago with help of weed now im on my 4th day with no weed and insomnia is def there and I guess the boredom is really crappy and my appetite is shot I hope I pull it off
After watching this video and with careful consideration to what this video has done to me. I now have began using drugs in an attempt to forget this video.
I am a devoted follower of Christ, I surrendered my life sometime in 2020 I think and I’ve been smoking weed since 2017. I’m 23 now and I have NOT been successfully quit smoking once even after hearing from the Lord that these drugs (thc, nicotine, excessive caffeine) are keeping me from Him. Thank you for trying to help inspire people to leave behind their addictions.
Long reply, hope it helps! I'm 3 weeks clean off thc after failing countless times to quit. Was like you, thinking about quitting everyday and watching videos on how to quit so you're already on the right path, which is good. This video an his others, plus other peoples videos on UA-cam have good advice\motivation. Also what really helped me was riding my bike, for cardio an fresh air, and pushups, aswell as other light exercises(start slowly do as many as you can without really straining yourself at first). You're gonna feel edgy an crappy the first few days so the exercise helps take the edge off. Also controlling my thoughts helped, whenever craving thoughts popped into my head I refused to dwell on them, by thinking of something else til they passed, or I would distract myself thru reading, positive or interesting videos, videogames, bike riding, or meditation (close your eyes in a comfortable position and just focus on your breathing when your mind wanders focus back on your breathing, big slow breathes in and out. Another type of meditation, which Jesus and Paul mentioned is finding a Scripture you like and focusing deeply on it. Jesus would also go pray by himself. Scripture I always liked was 'Be still and know that I am God') I had a short attention span at first so I juggled between the above distraction a lot. I substituted coffee with black tea. Supplements helped a lot too, they're cheap, can find on Amazon or vitamin shop or some grocery stores. L-theanine is calming, it comes in gummies or capsules( it comes from green or black tea), chamomile tea, passion flower tea or capsules, lemon balm capsules, all these are calming and help. Write a list of everything I mentioned in this reply. You will heal and eventually you'll find happiness in the things you do in life not the things you consume. You got this, be strong, much Love!
When it comes to thc u dont to quit just find balance..not smokin daily and to often, also.right strain of weed that works for you is important..God invented weed for a reason but people overdo anythin that feels good and eventualy fuck up balance and become dependant on the substance..
2 months of sober of Marijuana. Thank u. I really thought Marijuana was harmless. ( it's so not) really thought I must of got ahold of bad stuff. But it wasn't. Now I'm not ever going back to smoking . Thank u😊
I’d love for you to do a video about derealization being a side effect of weed, and I’m aware that you make it worse by watching videos about it but I’d love to hear your pov on it
Sorry I’m not an expert, but weed, especially with high THC messes with our sense of reality and our perceptions. I think derealization is an effect of weed for everyone, but I think it would be more pronounced in someone with a lot of stress, and a lot of conflicts in their life. The best thing to do is to begin the recovery process by abstaining, and begin doing relaxation techniques, like deep breathing, meditation, and yoga, and gentle exercise like light jogging, and get plenty of rest. And follow advice given in this video. Also join groups that can provide some support, or see if you can check in with a friend or family member every day to talk about what you’re going through, concerns you have and progress you’re making. Even posting here in the comments is helpful. Best to you ! Be patient with yourself and you will overcome any challenges.
Hey man, you hit the needle on the head with that one at at saying when you want to drink you also want to smoke cause I thought that same thing everything you’ve mentioned so far is accurate for me 100%
This is gonna sound counter intuitive but shrooms/acid/dmt can help with addiction. It's like you do it once and then your need to do the drug your addicted to dissolves! It sounds crazy but it's personally true and medical bodies believe so to as well.
I’m personally struggling with weed addiction I use it pretty much everyday, I also tend to get drunk once a week (on my day off) I used to work out a lot and I definitely see how it’s affecting me. Thank you for the insight.
No such thing as weed addiction your wanting weed is the issue stop smoking and immediately get into working out even power walking sweat every day 2 3 4 x ifosible drink fluids eat healthy and go cold turkey 2 weeks in y9u will be OK apart from the nightmares whitch are a amazing experience in them selves
its officially rated as an addiction and people get addicted for various reasons so saying there is no weed addiction is just intolerant and wrong. also i think it wont help somebody to be told, that all your problems are basically bullshit and you just have to get your lazy ass up and do something, it will much more further add to the feelings of guilt and deficiency and can worsen the consume. i always get the feeling that people who are spreading this bs that you are, are just a bunch of narcissists who want to look down on other people.
I’d stay away from any substance to chill you out. Do it through walking, exercise, meditation, journaling. You don’t want to dependent on any substance. Also, even some broad spectrum CBD has thc in it. I tried CBD for a while and I eventually gave back into smoking weed. Just give it all up.
Hi Dr Frank,I would like to thank you for your help though my hellos journey getting off of 6 years of dabbing and RSO to "cure"my chrons disease. I started getting CHS and couldn't believe it until I ended up in the ER from dropping about 15 pounds in 2 weeks. After the ER visit I said "that's it" and just quit cold turkey and have Been So happy to not have to worry about the whole damn ritual! My only concern besides my weight loss is my use of l theanine to curb the absolutely Freezing stiff feeling I'm still getting from HMS.I use it as little as possible but am worried it could possibly ru8n my almost month of progress if Complete abstinence. If you could Please give me some advice on this matter it would mean the world to me!Thank-you so much for reading this🙏🙏Have a great night.
How do people get addicted to weed ? For me I can walk away for weeks at a time , it has no addictive things like Nicotine but than again everyone is different so I feel like if it isn't affecting your everyday life go for it as it helps me study and sleep
Usually people that are self medicating develop a dependency. For example I have anxiety and c-ptsd and have used it to cope with that. Now I can barely cope without it. Like can't leave my room or look at people because of the whirlwind of unpredictable emotions.
Well anythin that u use or do daily for extended period wll create some sort of emotional dependency..if u smoke strong indica strains that gives that body high than also physical dependency and withdrawals could happen..if u have healthy relationship with weed, with healthy on/off cycles and mostly sativa strains u wont have any issues..common sense..also people are smokin random strains mostly but every person should know whats the best for him/her...strain,dosage,frequency..thats how u approach to herb
30 years took me a few min to make that decision first week was the hardest now iam 3 months in I feel fine however I can never touch another joint because i would fall quickly back into my old ways. a addict Iam and addict I will all ways be.
Yes but the thing is weed can deplete your dopamine so completely that you’re at absolute rock bottom, where you’re not producing ANY, only a slight amount for a brief period with use. Believe me, it’s not a pretty place to be. It’s not so much the addictiveness of the drug as it is the depletion of dopamine that makes you desperate for any kind of relief from that hellish feeling. It puts you in an extreme vicious cycle-making it very hard to break out of, even to have the hope of breaking out of! Actually, nicotine is a whole different animal from weed in my opinion. Again, long-term regular use of weed literally depletes your dopamine completely, and that is a hell in itself. I don’t think nicotine/cigarettes come even close to doing that, no matter how many you smoke! However, it wrecks your lungs and is highly addictive!
I’m on my 3rd straight day with no THC. Feel like sh!t, but I’m tired of feeling like sh!t everyday because of THC. Holding strong because I know this to will pass
Compared to sugar cravings, weed doesnt mean nothing. Im on day one without sugar and its hell. Im tiree but hyperactive at the same time, I can not think straight, anxiety skyrockets. I didnt have that when I had break from weed. Today Im on day two of my second break from weed and its easy as always
When weed withdrawals kick in for me, its a forced fast from day 2 to 5. I don't notice any changes in dopamine at this stage, the dopamine really doesnt get going again until 2 weeks in. 3 weeks in, I can get pleasure out of recreational activities again. 4 weeks in, I feel 100%. My problem is soon as I feel 100% again, I want to celebrate having a reset tolerance and I end up back in the cycle, doing dabs all day everyday until im suffering and forced to quit
Nice idea but canabis has absolutely zero affinity with the dopamine (D1-D4) receptors. Canabis binds to serotonergic receptors. The fact that canabis does not interact with the dopamine receptors (not affect latent dopamine levels anywhere in the brain) is the reason why canabis is not physically addictive, as is the case with all serotonergic drugs like LSD, MDMA. Dependence occurs only with drugs that interact with the dopaminergic reward system. So if you're kicking canabis, it's replacing reduced serotonin levels that you ought to be concerned with. White meats (poultry), beans, nuts and lagumes have high 5HT levels, that will convert to serotonin in the brain.
I don't think it's the cannibis that is necessarily the dopamine hit. I can Imagine for most people (including myself before I quit) it's the actual act of smoking it rather than its effects... I hated the feeling of being stone but love taking bong hit. It's hard to explain but I wouldnt feel, let's say as satisfied if I ate a edible apposed to smoking it
It’s a myth that marijuana isn’t physically addictive. I get headaches, anxiety, lack of sleep, heart palpitations and irritability when I quit after a bout of heavy smoking.
I can tell you from my own personal experience over several decades that Thc can be very addictive. Thc consumption ruined my life. I was unable to stop despite trying. It put me in the hospital with cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome 6 times over 4 years. I was unable to function, spent enough money to buy a house and wasn’t able to stop until I went to rehab and got serious about a 12 step program. Please stop spreading misinformation based on neurochemistry. Though what you say is partly factual, there are millions of people with real life cannabis a thc addiction which prove otherwise. Nothing you say about the neurochemistry can negate the reality of addiction. Your bias is leading you to draw conclusions that have no basis in the real world.
Im trying to get there im having weird ass panic attacks now after smoking. My heart beats hella hard and my hands sweat like crazy but im almost down to 3/4 of my consumption looking to get all the way there. Praying for myself
I know that cravings come and go. But what Im worried about is the depression. In fact I started abusing weed because of it. In the past when I was truly happy, I was able to smoke weed controllsbly pretty long time, I think it was two years. I would smoke than have like 2 month break, sometimes 1 month or 2 weeks, you name it, but it surely wasnt abuse, just use. Problem is that cold showers, working out etc last only short time. I like these activities and I do them pretty often. But once I do it, I again slip into nothingness and sadness that I dont know how to escape. I just can switch the drugs for more comstructive activities but thats just all, once I do nothing I back again in that black hole. Can you please help what do with that? Btw Im 19yo male. Thank you very much.
It’s a hard situation but you are nineteen and can turn this around without too much disruption to your life. It is important to address the cannabis dependence but it could be beneficial to focus on improving the areas of your life you are able to. I know it’s more difficult than just saying it but exercise, meditate, socialise (if possible), build a hobby or interest. Try accept your current position and make a start somewhere, anywhere,no matter how small. One daily morning habit of walking can be a foundation, eventually progress it into a run. Remember consistency in good habits is more important than effort applied. If you have to smoke cannabis to stabilise mental health then the journey can be more difficult (I am currently in this position at 31). Try cut down to as little as you can manage before attempting to stop. I used to wake up at 4am and smoke but then I stopped that and went to 9am, then 9:30 then 10 etc. Routines are your best friend when you are battling mental illness and substance dependency. Build a solid morning routine and do it every day. Ps Take it easy on yourself if you slip back. I have slipped back 100s of times after getting to a strong position, it happens. Just keep building discipline,p and you ll get there, good luck
Reading your comment I would just say that you need to really understand that every single time you go back to it you’re literally creating that dark black hole for yourself. You are essentially creating the deep depression that comes from your brain not being able to create dopamine anymore. It really really sucks!! I would say when you just get so sick of that feeling and you don’t want to have it anymore- you’ll decide the hit that is keeping you there is just not worth it. It’s really just coming to the realization that you’re going to stick with the recovery process because every day that you abstain… you’re a step closer to getting your dopamine levels normalized, and in turn the dark thoughts will start to lift!! :) It may sound super simplistic, but that really is the way!!
Read spiritual books. Anything that catches your eye on a bookshelf, whether a library or a shop. It's hard to concentrate. If you can't read use Internet.
Its very difficult to stop Oxycontin just like that !!! Its pure hell on the body, more so on the body than the mind.THC recovery is easy compared to opioids.
That is why idk why he is using DOPE SICK in bold letters as click bait when he knows damn right thats an opiate term. Or he doesn't because he knows little to nothing about addiction

2. Expose body to heat.
3. Intermittent fasting.
Don’t forget the supplements I mentioned at the end 😎

One week from today will be my two month mark of a THC free life. I am 51 years old and started smoking weed everyday at the age of 16. I was also diagnosed as severe ADD in the third grade and put on Ritalin from the age of 8 to 18. I had a 12 year period of sobriety from the age of 29 to 41 from weed. weed saved my life, I'm not addicted, I stop regularly to reset my tolerance and I've never had a problem with weed. Weed doesn't affect everyone the same. Your still addicted?? You should follow your sown device

This has "real" help to get through quitting. I already started Dopine Nation. I've got a lot of mental work to do.
u have no idea how much u have helped the whole world by ur free advices ,,, can u believe ppl in saudi are getting better from addiction using ur videos specially cannabis videos lol i'm sure u will be surprised probably happy ... :) thank u
God to hear it! It’s an amazing thing. Thanks for the support
Thank you for trying to help inspire people to leave behind their addictions.
i have not successfully quit* I tell myself everyday, and still fail. It’s a blow to my confidence, but I know with God I can prevail. :)

I’m sure a lot of this applies to all addiction but do you have any videos where you speak on kratom/opiate addiction?
I don’t speak on it But I’m going to have a video soon with a guest speaker on the topic
But all of these things still apply
Hey man, you hit the needle on the head with that one at at saying when you want to drink you also want to smoke cause I thought that same thing everything you’ve mentioned so far is accurate for me 100%
5 weeks off the green bitch, big ups Dr. Frank!
Day 3 of nic withdrawals I don’t even like vaping I’m so happy you’ve been able to help me thank you so much
This is gonna sound counter intuitive but shrooms/acid/dmt can help with addiction.
Do you think using CBD can help with the anxiety and withdrawal symptoms ?
I’ve found CBD as a really good tool to help me move away from THC weed.
hoping Dr Frank will response to your message.
I came across your video just at the right time and the right clear explanation of what I need and what I am going through.
Weed is not the magic plant stoners say it is.
I’ve been smoking upside down and it works wonders
Lol
The brain keeps teasing all the good high times.
clean of weed 1 week now I was hella depressed the last 2 days but regular exercise and cooking good food makes it bearable
@@_anshin_anshin that makes sense
Well anythin that u use or do daily for extended period wll create some sort of emotional dependency..if u smoke strong indica strains that gives that body high than also physical dependency and withdrawals could happen..if u have healthy relationship with weed, with healthy on/off cycles and mostly sativa strains u wont have any issues..common sense..also people are smokin random strains mostly but every person should know whats the best for him/her...strain,dosage,frequency..thats how u approach to herb
I can never quit smoking weed. It’s rediculously hard
You can if you actually put your mind up to it.
Look at it as your enemy. I had to see it that way
follow the free pdf. it's Gold
30 years took me a few min to make that decision first week was the hardest now iam 3 months in I feel fine however I can never touch another joint because i would fall quickly back into my old ways. a addict Iam and addict I will all ways be.
Does pulled pork from the bbq place next door count as fatty acids?
If you have this many problems from just weed and nicotine... I HOPE you never touch opiates
Today Im on day two of my second break from weed and its easy as always
how is the sugar thingy going? i think i have serious addiction to that shit and is the most dangerous of all
Your body is reacting that way because your blood sugar is super low since you are used to eating sugar
@@salviad5x afaik it doesn't create physical dependecies but mental ones.
@@silkysh1tthat’s because you have mental health problems, it not the weed
@@powerlevel9001that’s because you smoke bad weed. Smoke the hood shit and you will be ok
Are you dating anybody
Take up jogging
Have you suggested Rhodiola for withdrawal symptoms after quitting weed, caffeine, and sugars/carbs?
Its very difficult to stop Oxycontin just like that !!! Its pure hell on the body, more so on the body than the mind.THC recovery is easy compared to opioids.
That is why idk why he is using DOPE SICK in bold letters as click bait when he knows damn right thats an opiate term. Or he doesn't because he knows little to nothing about addiction
Maybe he’s making a play on words - dopamine - dope. Just my guess
I've been drinking mugwort tea when I crave it. Idk if it's placebo but 😅
