Soviets had more conventional firepower in East Germany than the US had in the entire theater. We were just a speed bump when I lived there as a US Army Brat. I talked to a former East German and he said the Soviets had more than they needed to take West Europe. The only reason they did not attack was the threat of nuclear war. Thank God the Russians love their children too.
There in Ukraine, there in Crimea, and they constantly test air space with Sweden and Finland. Only someone choosing to believe that fact would say there not.
