      Not worth over $20k
First of all its not a collectors car
      2nd its not all original
      3rd Mileage ?
My cousin bought last year a
      burgundy 1987 trans am GTA
5 speed 305 tpi all original
      Original owner
With all maintenance receipts since day one
      Original window sticker
      Paint was flawless
      Original 70k miles
Car was garaged its entire life
Owner originally selling it for $7500
      Sold it for $6800 cash
I think the only 3rd gen trans am worh over 15k should be the 1989 trans am 3.8 TURBO
As it came equipped with the same engine found on the Grand National came with about 300hp was faster than any american car that year evan a (corvette ) ran 12s on 1/4 mile
0-60 4.6 secs thats faster than alot of todays cars and they only made about 1,500 .

Thanks for featuring my car scotty. Apologise for the video quality its not exactly my forte.. just wanted to add some info for those who dont know much about these cars. They were rated at 220hp and 295 lb/ft stock. 0-60 6.5 seconds q/mile 15.4 only available as auto (with 5.7 engine). In its day it was a proper performance car and was as fast as cars like Porsche 928's and even similar to ferrari 308's etc... but it was over 30 years ago! This ones a little quicker as it has the lower gear ratios, emissions delete, Cat delete, Cold air intake, full custom freeflow exhaust, msd ignition and performance chip, so is plenty quick enough for the tiny roads in the uk. My last trans am was a procharged 4th gen with 580bhp it was a ridiculously powerful car and i could never drive it near its power band. This car is great fun as its got enough power to have fun and NOT lose your license. They are rare in the uk and not many super clean ones about as many old imports have rusted away in our horrible climate. Mine came from japan so was totally rust free and even the underside was better than my 2002 4th gen. Anyway thanks for watching and have a great day.

Same here. It’s a beautiful car and definitely has a nostalgia value, but sadly I think there’s an extra 0 in that valuation. Maybe it’s worth more because it’s not in the US and harder to find/more in demand? I recently spent time in multiple European countries and noted that there were a lot of firebirds. I asked my friend in Switzerland about it and he said that “Everybody loves KITT.”

    • @imonymous
      @imonymous 5 років тому +4

@@twodollardream5545 Yea, I grew up in Switzerland and based on Knight Rider my classmates and I had the impression that it was a super exclusive car on the level of Lamborghinis. Europe is crazy though, I was in the Netherlands last month and because of some weird laws a damn $35'000 Mustang is apparently €120'000.
Anyway, I don't remember them being common though, because I'd get very excited the rare times I did see them. So when I moved to America in the early 90s I was shocked to see people in my high school driving around in them.

See, that's when cars looked GOOD. The Trans-Am was always one of my favorite cars ever (Of course movies like Smokey and the Bandit sure as heck helped that). Nowadays, cars just look too samey, you can't tell one from the other. But back in the 80s, there were several cars that were more affordable that had their own personality, and maybe the GTA was expensive, but normal Trans-Ams could be found throughout the 90s and you could get them for a decent price and you had a car that was just pleasing to look at, pleasing to be in, and pleasing to drive. Oh, and... one thing this guy forgot.... where's the golden firebird on the hood!? How can you have a black TransAm and not have a bird on the hood?
