Got diagnosed with SRS months ago with a doctor after 6 years of doctors giving me ibuprofen (now allergic to), them blowing off the problem, and my mom telling to ignore it. She couldn't afford the appointments to check it out anyways, so I understand that, yet it also hurt that I had to endure that. Been doing research finally on SRS after being diagnosed since my doctor couldn't really do much to help (and, holy crap, there is not that much research). You were someone who came up. Thank you so much for your videos, because I feel like I can finally relate to someone. Because I live in the United States, something like SRS would definitely not be covered by insurance, so it's likely I won't get surgery or be able to treat it for a very long time (if at all), but you give me hope in possibly doing so someday. Thank you so much for your videos and I give you hope in a speedy recovery.
thank you for saying that, it warms my heart ♥️ i’m really sorry to hear about the experience you have, no one deserves to be in this pain. i know about a lot of people in the unites states who has had it covered by insurance, but i suppose every case and every type of insurance cover different things. i’ll have you in my thoughts and hope that you get better soon 🌹
@@BrodeyDoverosx I live in the United States. Being someone who's disabled with many more things besides Slipping Rib Syndrome (SRS was the first step to MANY more stuff I discovered about myself since I had originally commented), I can't work in order to purchase insurance. The insurance I do have was not willing to cover the surgery, since they saw it as comestic. Either way, my surgeon said that my weight was going to cause too many complications while healing from surgery. Fortunately, the hospital I was going to get surgery from is a non-profit hospital, so they were going to fully cover it, based on my income (which was basically none).
Thank you for these. I do not believe I have SRS as bad but I feel like it's a start to figuring out my own pain. I hope you are feeling better and that your surgery helps
I am so proud of you too. This was so hard, both physically and emotionally. You are so strong and æ heie på dæ ❤️ I am happy I got to see how it was in hospital and glad that Bjørn was there to take care of you ❤️
@jjossen - I see that you have not entered a post in a year or so. I hope all is well. Did you require any more surgeries? I fractured 2 ribs - 7 & 8 - and now feel crunching whenever I move. There are times when the pain is so intense that I cry out loud. In an early video, you mentioned that the cartilage can grow back. How do they keep your ribs aligned while you are waiting for that to happen and how long did it take? Thank you. Stay well.
I've started a new, very busy life and don't really have time for UA-cam anymore. but I'm planning on making an SRS update video, probably at the start of summer or so. I've had three surgeries by now & will be having one more. the last one was a tie fix, where they broke several ribs and placed everything back together with titan plates and screws. I read about the cartilage growing back, but since then my surgeon told me it doesn't, so I'm not fully sure tbh. have you had any check ups? maybe plating could be an option for you?
Hi!I came here after seeing your slipping rib syndrome video. I also recently suffered from that disease in my right 10th rib and had a resection surgery, but the pain came back, so I'm considering reoperation. Can you tell me the name of the second and third surgery you had? And I wonder if things are okay now. I feel so lost and scared as the pain recurs.I'm Korean and I'm going to the UK for a diagnosis! Can you share your information?
hi, i'm sorry for the late response - i haven't been very active on YT lately. i will make sure to make an update video as soon as i can, but i am soiung better thank you. the cronic pain isn't gone, to be honest i think i never will. but i've been doing so much better after my surgeries, and that's really all i ever hoped for. still got one surgery to go, hopefully happening in june :-)
Hi! I’m sorry if I missed it… but did you mention why you needed a second surgery of the same procedure? Thanks so much. Hope you are feeling more relief!
hi! i had the same surgery yes, but on the other side. my SRS is (was?) bilateral, meaning i had it on both sides. they did one side first to see if it worked 😅 i’m about to have one more surgery, but not for srs. i have a costal arch deformity that contributes to a lot of my pain, so i’ll be getting that fixed 🌻
this video is a bit more chaotic than my last surgery video, so unfortunately i missed out on saying a few things hehe. but i had the same type of surgery as last time- resection 🌹
I feel pain in my left side lower Rib from Last 1.5 years. All reports are normal, May I know which specialist doctor will able to diagnosis like Physician, Surgeon, Orthopaedic or any other ?? Please suggest
sorry to hear it 😔 if you manage to perform the hooking maneuver on yourself, you have srs. try putting your fingers underneath where it hurts and see if you can move them. most doctors should be able to diagnose you, but i suggest printing papers/documents and bring them to your dr. if they don’t listen, go to the next one. good luck and don’t give up! 🌹
@@jaipareek18 i don't know how the system works where you live, but i talked to my doctor who reffered me to a thoratic surgeon. it should probably be a dr who diagnoses you, but with a proper diagnosis you should also be able to get proper help and treatment!
@@jaipareek18 Hi, I've been having the same issue, I found the dr I am seeing through googling SRS and am finally getting answers. He is a thoracic surgeon in the UK and he sent me for a dynamic ultrasound as I was too tender to perform the hooking maneuver on.
@@KJellyBeanutmy dynamic ultrasound didn’t show anything. As soon as the surgeon hooked my side, boom, it hurt like hell. After that he asked about my nerve blocks and voila; I’m a surgery candidate.
That's exhausting..just yell at them to get it together...even if it's uncomfortable..that is way too much run around for a person in pain and showing up and still not work.

Buy insurance that does cover it. Ask to be involved in a study.

What kind of surgery did you have for SRS? What country? I am in USA, I have been having symptoms of SRS since at least 2012.
Can you share the nature of the surgery you received this time. Was it resection, a suturing or a plate?

Are you better??? Which ones were skipped and what was your pain on right side?
Its really worst conditions nobody can trust you😢😢 but ribs creating pain so much only relief on taking bath that time feeling good .
Did you take the COVID vaccine?
