Nice video! Can I ask what type of mount do you use for your action camera? Bit unsure if the GoPro sticky 3M will stay on the bike.

I’m definitely no expert but I’ve found that lowering the pressure on the the rear by a couple of psi has also helped with cold tear on the Pirelli’s

We went the way that typically has solved the problem in the past - which was up, then went that way (back down) in the end, which only helped marginally. We are assuming the bigger issue we had was that the tyre was on its 5th or 6th heat cycle, I generally consider them done on their 3rd or 4th heat cycle. Usually they are out of tread by their 2nd day anyway (3rd at most!). This is probably the first time I have attempted to ride a superbike tyre that has done so many heat cycles!

@@aussiethrottlejockeys1371 hmmm my last tyre was wearing really nicely but the last outing it ended up shredded similar to yours. It still had a decent amount left but was the 4th heat cycle. I did hear the SC’s are only good for 3 cycles. Also it was starting to let go a bit too 😬

@@Ramps_818 I've used 8 year old SC scrubs. As in used for a day, then sat in a garage for 8 years. They can definitely go more than 3 cycles. Without using warmers even it got sticky enough to hold a phone or screwdriver like glue to the side of it. That tear isn't heat cycles or even shock rebound. It's from coasting at full lean, standing it up and then gunning it out. I do it too. The answer is to develop the throttle smoothly from earlier on. Just takes a bit of commitment eh. And yeah, lower the pressure to give less chance of wear.

@@layingblacklines ah cool. That’s good to know. Seems like a waste to ditch em when there’s a heap of rubber left

@@Ramps_818 Yeah they'll come back from worse than this too. Think Pirelli are bad for tearing, but it does tend to look worse than it really is. Also you are right about the heat cycles, just not for most of us. The WSBK lads say they peak after about 20 minutes, but then sort of hold it for a long time until there's not much rubber left. Tread depth is still more important than heat cycles.
