Brilliant video 👌 what a great turnout out of vintage harvesting equipment and of course leading the way the Massey's from 🏴😁😁 great event and well supported by volunteers 💪👍
The good old days remember the old 780 special spent a lot of hours sat on one of them, twanging the knife drive belt down the side of the seat, when it slipped when trying to cut through some grass (scutch). If you cut more than 10 acres a day, you had had a hell of a day, now they do that an hour!!! We first had an Allis Chalmers tow combine still got the engine some where. Memory lane!! Thankyou!
Great video, its amazing that when I watch videos of old tractors working it takes me right back to the 60's on the farm, I can even smell the TVO burning again, wonderfull. Thanks for sharing.
Great video, my Weeting filming didn't go quite to plan and I lost a lot of the harvesting footage, thanks for filling my gaps 😜 👍 Looking forward to your next one, HowardT
Another excellent Sunday night video to watch. It's nice to see the old Massey Harris machines have survived the scrap mans gas axe and are still working. I'll bet you won't find spares available on the shelf in a Massey dealers these days . Even Manners, the combine breaker, might struggle to find parts. I remember seeing a mint condition cabless Ransomes Super Cavalier on a farm that I went to bale hay on back in 1989 as the farmer had just taken delivery of his brand new Ford 6410 generation 3 four wheel drive with the Super Q cab which made it a rare beast as they were only made for around 2 years before the 40 series were introduced in 1991. The Fordson trencher on rotaped tracks is a very rare beast, and it's good to see it restored and working again.
Glad you enjoyed the video. I plan to visit some of the events in the Netherlands at some point. What would be your recommendation for a really good working event?
Enjoyed seeing all the combines from my youth doing a good job. Also the fordson majors which I was driving unattended from 13 years old onwards doing work with them after school.
Thanks for filming this. A field day like this can be difficult to organise as they are dependent upon the volunteer support of the farming community during the middle of harvest when folks often need to be doing other things.
The first combine I worked on was a bagger and back then we used 2 1/4cwt railway sacks. A full day on the bagging deck meant you slept well that night. We turned the ears and sowed the string across to fully seal the bags before sliding them down the shoot at the back to be picked up latter.
Absolutely brilliant video great to see these good old machines at work may not be as fast as the modern stuff they may be needed if the sat navs go tits up .AND THEY WILL ONE DAY TO BE SURE, and do we really need straight lines ? Farming has lost its buzz back in the 60 s and 70 s you made do and improvised your machinery to improve its performance for a few pound .All the best retired Yorkshire farmer.
Odd arrangement on the B64 where the chaff is fed back into the feeder house. Great to see these harvesters, I worked on a Massey Harris sacking combine in the 60's but didn't note the model number. Also many of these are in the great book on the subject, "The grain harvesters" covering from early times (BCE) up to the recent (1990?
I think it's the return elevator you are referring to? It's quite useful to see what's coming out of it but a little unconventional. I agree, "The Grain Harvesters" is a great book. Thanks for the comment.
Brilliant the MF 780 , reminds me of the Massy Harris 726 in the 50' early 60's but it was a "bagger" thank you 👌👍🏻👍🏻 EDIT :- woooooops ,,, posted too soon,, MF 726 @6:06 🙏
That trencher was an old model, I can remember Hayhoe's of Norwich running some of them draining at Long Stratton. The power units were more modern Fords, must have been late 50s early 60s.
It's an odd sight seeing people around actually watching a harvest event with caravans and awnings. Where in my working life I never saw a soul all day long apart from the other workers in the field .hot dusty and long hours often into the night.
@@Casterton-Vintage The more things change, the more people want to see how it used to be done. These m/c they can actually see how, and hopefully that means more volunteers come forward. The only way we can keep this going, is with new people with enough interest, and a little mechanical knowledge.
It is an Enfield twin cylinder air cooled diesel I think. The baler I believe is. Bamford Long BL60. There was one on the farm I grew up on. It was essential to regularly clean out the air ducts or it might catch fire! There was a long special brush provided! On ours the two exhausts were joint together with a silencer above the engine. The large driving wheel on this machine looks to have a bit of a wobble! Love all the footage including the Howard Rotehoe trencher on the Rotaped tracks. These machines were still in use by local contractors attached to Power and Super Majors in the early 1970s in Lincolnshire laying clay “tile” drains. Loved the 780 and 726 with the Austin Newage engine!
What a fantastic video, those combines are brilliant, the Ransomes and the 726 so well preserved. Well done all involved 👏
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks
Well done to all of the people who keep these wonderful old machines going, they''re heroes, thank you.
Thanks for your support.
I agree.

@@Wheels_of_Interest. Thanks. I found your tractor but you were not with it.
@@Casterton-Vintage my next vintage tractor outings are Old Warden, Casterton and Stotfold Mill, I'm sure we'll catch up sometime 👍
I thought I could smell straw.
Great seeing the old combines at work and baleing ! Fantastic video again !
Many thanks!
What a superb video, the trench machine was amazing well done 👏
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks

Geweldig om al deze oude machines in het werk te zien , in Nederland zijn er ook nog wel eens te zien . Bedankt voor de mooie beelden !
Glad you enjoyed the video. I plan to visit some of the events in the Netherlands at some point. What would be your recommendation for a really good working event?
Well that was really really excellent I can remember the day more more please many thanks 👍🏴
Thanks.
My dad had a 780 back in the 70s. Was a good combine. Great video.
Thanks for watching!
Another fantastic video 😊
Thank you 🤗
That brings back memories
👍
Enjoyed seeing all the combines from my youth doing a good job. Also the fordson majors which I was driving unattended from 13 years old onwards doing work with them after school.
I did the same after school and during holidays. We were very lucky.
Thanks from Iowa, USA Makes me want to come and watch your shows. I have 35 tractors, plus assorted machinery.
Glad you enjoyed the video. We would be pleased to see you in the UK.
Good day from Ontario Canada So what brands of tractors have U got? Ths
Thanks for filming this. A field day like this can be difficult to organise as they are dependent upon the volunteer support of the farming community during the middle of harvest when folks often need to be doing other things.
Absolutely!
Excellent video, some interesting machines on view and the weather played ball at last!
Glad you enjoyed it. You probably noticed the umbrella in some of the shots. Luckily the showers didn't stop the harvesting.
Brilliant video nice bit of filming enjoyed seeing all the machinery at work 👍
Thanks 👍
Great video😊😊
And to see old tractors at work
Thanks😊😊😊😮🤓
Thanks 👍
Good to see a combined been brought
For spares and being good enough
To be reused
Like that👍🤓
Wow I love watching old equipment working live BRILLIANG STUFF. Cheers.

Great video - Really shows off these machines well. My first Weeting and now looking forward to next year

Those are very big sacks! Are you in the US?
Another really interesting vid. Just noticed it's had over 6.5k views and only up a day. Great to see the channel doing so well!
Much appreciated!
So much of this fascinating old kit made in UK, and still working👍
👍
Very very well done....lovely footage and fab machinery
Many thanks!
Love this, Thanks for posting 👍
No problem 👍
Great video. I sure like machinery working videos. 👍🏻
Thanks 👍
Super video as always. That's a beauty of a MF 780. The Fenland crusader is currently restoring one to working condition on his YT channel.
I hope to see the one that Fenland Crusader is restoring at some point. We are in the same part f the UK. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Great video once again, really good camara work thanks for all your effort.
Thanks.

yes 726 tvo tanker i just try to keeping it running think it would spoil it to paint
was there in 75 in the model tent
saw the elevator built 12 scale one to go with my set
still works today 20 24 happy days

We had a 726, It was a bagger so we bought a tank and converted it.
Then up graded to a 780.
👍
Ransom drag I had one of those. The ploughs we had were converted rom a trail plough
We were the same, not health and safety
👍
Where about is this show held, and are there any dates for it for next year? - I'm keen to come over (from NZ) to take a look!
Here is a link to the web site www.weetingrally.co.uk/#/
My neigbour had one of those,
Another neighbour had one oh those but it had a split bed whic h folded up
The split bed machine would be a Fisher Humphries Lely I think.

I`ve got two 780 as modell from Corgi Toys 😊
I remember those but I never had one.
Does anyone know what engine was on the Bamfords baler?

Cavalier was the first combine I drove.
Great memories. Matador Giant for me.
Riding the clutch on the MH 726
Wasn't that low density baler and Ford tractor at Weeting 2023?
I don't remember one from 2023 but it wouldn't have been this one because I only dragged it out of a hedge three weeks ago!
@@Casterton-Vintage I'm sure there was one at 2023 also behind a little Ford tractor. Possibly a 4000.
The 4000 was there but it was working a ransomes low density baler instead of a claas
Nice
Thanks
