They are indeed, though Hail to England ... not sure about the new version. But Bridge of Death Remixed is really dope. It's not perfect, but overall an improvement. Time to dig into the rest, looking forward to it.
@@jjrj8568 I have no idea what you’re talking about. This remaster is lame. All the distortion and reverb is gone. Everything is clean sounding. Have you ever listened to early Bathory? *What I must suppose to be true, is that Eric here is not singing this as a plea to Satan, but is narrating a story (of Dante's Inferno for example), like he did in Guyana.*
Exactly correct: it's the story of man who dedicated his life to wealth, power and earthly success. It is a direct reference to Joey's Catholic upbringing and of Catholic theology: upon death, we go to the God, the Spirit, we worshipped. The man in this song worshipped the Spirits of the Flesh (avarice, love of money; hedonism, love of power; glory, love of social status). And these Spirits come from Spirit of the Self - to live for one's selfish ambitions and lust I.e. the Spirit of the Serpent (Satan). And thus, as he lived in this life worshipping the Self and Satan, he now goes to him and becomes his demon, to return to the world above and tempt others to follow his life of lust and ambition, and entrap them to Satan. It's not a glorification of Satan, but a warning. PS The reverse is to worship the Spirit of Goodness: to live not for one's selfish lusts, but to love ans uplift the world around you. This is the Spirit of Love; the Holy Spirit; God Himself ans those that do this go to heaven and become His angels. This is Catholic theology in a nutshell.
I agree. And the song does a great job of making you feel the power of Satan's temptation! it is a warning, about how good it feels to give in... but the price is terrible. And as we can hear in the end, it leads to his (the character's) desperate plea to Satan, to not forsake him.. which of course he will, laughing, to the agnoizing screams of the damned, represented by the wailing guitars. The allure of power wealth and pleasure is there in the beginning, and in the end you have pain and distortion, and Satan triumphs (only) over those who worshipped him!

Rom 12,19: Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, says the Lord.
Vengeance is mine saith God

Are they screwing up every old album now? Sounds like shit!
Mmm... come on... it's not so bad... It sounds "modern"
That's why I prefer the original. It has more "charm" and sounds really better.
