I agree 100%. I’ve been saying the same thing for a couple years now. High school is about repping where you’re from, not joining super teams all across the country. That’s literally what AAU basketball is for.

Completely disappointed in Mikeys decision to go back to San Ysidro... the level of comp in South Bay league is sub-par.... the highlights will be good no doubt and it would be great to return home but looking at the squad the kids that were on mikeys team freshman year aren't there... idk if its because they may be running track rn or if they graduated or moved but if #3 is their 2nd best player that's a bad look once they move on to the San Diego section.. San Yisidro is a smaller school (at least when I was in hs they were a d3 school) so maybe he can win a section or state chip but they def aint doing shit if they make it to the open region playoffs.. If Mikey wanted to go back to Daygo he could have went to a better program.. Saint Augustine, Cathedral, la jolla, Mt Carmel, Granite, La Costa Canyon, Olympian, Foot Hills Christian, Carlsbad, Torrey Pines are all better programs. I guess he wants his ranking to go back up but the move does nothing to his player development playing with low level competition for next year when he goes pro.
Dude,you're on something. You listed schools like granite hills, olympian & La Jolla as BETTER programs! Knock it off!!! San Ysidro WON Open Division with an almost completely hispanic team. Mikey, Ty Ingram(son of Tyrone Shelley),an incoming freshman, plus several pending transfers is a complete upgrade from last year. Cut the sh-- & take your hate elsewhere. They will be fine!

Look like junior high school competition. But if he had stayed in north Carolina he would have continued to drop in rankings. also vertical academy was losing all the time although they had some good players on his team. His new team and the competition is soft and not very good.

Look at their schedule this upcoming season before you speak. They have no less than 8 high level competition contests(none from S.D. section)scheduled.
