Kdub Spencer I have red intake scoops on my 1 series and they barely do anything at all. Also mostly for looks.
Brennan Bailey it's makes a small difference in high rpms around 70mph and up but not significant. It circulates more into the engine bay so just a few more hp and slight better sound but brace is just strictly looks .
Why do some people hate on this? Because the main idea of the V brace is adding structural rigidity to the front crash bar and somewhat protecting the radiator from large projectiles that may fly into the kidney grille. While the brace may look cool, it has to have a purpose. That's like swapping out stock hood for a CF bulge hood meant for a supercharged V8 while having a 1.6 diesel - it may look decent, but as soon as you lift your hood I am going to judge you.
In the end you can do whatever you want with your car, because it's YOUR car. Just be prepared to receive flak if it's all show and no go.
I clicked thinking this mod would provide structural rigidity, now realized it's only cosmetic. To each his own.
Perfect way to ruin the look of your kidney grilles, add weight and gain no performance.

@@dflex4180 Looks terrible imo. takes away from the look of the car.. eye soar! I have a picture on my Instagram @t.padgett If they were painted black wouldn't be so bad but completely ruins the look of kidney grille as well.

So I’m installing mine now and just noticed the horizontal crack in the plastic bracket in front of the radiator ( below where you bolted the new bolts in) and had to rewatch this video to see how you got the bar in so easy when fitting it lol!!! Where the bolts are it’s a snug fit so I had to loosen the radiator a bit just to fit the bar in place.
Makes a huge difference! Good job!

Retrofitting would be a purpose, but you fastened it to plastic removable parts, for it to be a look, y you didn't use pvc pipes
