I am a black man from Canada and I cannot express enough the joy I have in finding your channel. Finally found people who speak the truth about race relations and the fallacies and distortions that "intellectuals" like Dyson espouse. Keep up the good work ladies. There are quite a few blacks with these views on UA-cam.
The problem with people like Michael Eric Dyson is that they are part of this niche group of people who care more about winning an argument even if it’s entirely through semantics rather then using the facts in pursuit of the truth.

Well, we should all stand against racism in all forms. That should be a given. The problem is that it's been weaponized. I heard someone relatively recently say something like now's the best time ever to be a *real* racist because everyone's being called a racist, so the real ones just fit into the crowd. It's a horrible way to approach all these issues.
I had Peterson as a university professor. I am black (mixed, but meh, still black). I spoke to Peterson multiple times in his office.
He was very much not a mean white man. He was a blessing to me, and was gracious enough to give me advice on things going on in my life that weren’t even related to course material during the course office hours.
Very positive experience having him as a professor. Edit: Is the best uni professor I've had to date.

Dyson is the perfect example of someone who practices sophistry. He likes to use big words and give the appearance of someone who is an intelligent, sophisticated thinker when his reasoning and logic are utterly absurd.

You always know when a person has a deep knowledge of what he's talking about, he makes it so easy for you to understand complex and subtle ideas. If he makes you even more confused, he knows jack-sh*t about the subject.

As an American who happens to be white I am thankful for these women. Two intelligent American women who happen to be black. Insightful, clear of thought, and hard hitting. I hope we as a country realize that American values and government of the people have provided more people with more opportunities than any government in the history of the world. If we opened the borders tomorrow millions of people would be rushing from every continent to be part of what we have today. I hope we can unite as fellow Americans otherwise this country may fall. If we cannot take pride in what makes us uniquely American than we may have already lost our way.

My white privileged has allowed me to obtain a level of poverty that I couldn’t see I was headed for. Worked all my life. Bought homes. Purchased cars. Lost job, lost homes, lost cars and that cycle Would repeat 2 times. I’d definitely love to give my white privilege to someone more deserving of this gift. This is an interesting comment. I personally think class privilege trumps racial privileges. I wonder how much of what Americans consider to be white privilege is really class/socioeconomic privilege?

My brother and I grew up under the same roof , same parents, same discipline. He is more successful than I am. Mr Dyson, what say you on his privilege and our equity, we're both 1st generation sons of immigrants and white.
You sir don't understand what white privilege is. It does not guarantee outcomes. For the most part it simply means that whites don't have to deal with racial inequalities that minorities have to deal with.
Think of it like this, we're all in the same race but the white guy gets to start ahead of the black guy and the black guy has to run the race with a weighted pack on his back.
I would say that you have no idea what white privilege means.

In the 50s the biggest problems for American Blacks were political. Segregation enforced by law, legal barriers to voting especially. Political action was required to overcome those problems. But now that the problems are not political the first reaction is to use the tools that worked before. But today's problems are not political and politics can't fix them.
