@DirtyJakTheDustyBean I have a question about your last machine. Did you ever have a problem with the lock and ride trunk? Did it ever come loose trailering at highway speeds or just trail riding? Thanks
@@river_keithWe always put a strap around it when traveling. It was a great system and in around the five years we used it never had an issue. So far the best on and off system by far we’ve used.
Great video! Noticed you didn't use the stove jack protection wall cover. Good to know you don't need it. I was going to ask how long the stove lasts, but your answered that! Good to know you don't need to strap the tent down to use. Looking forward to more videos about your new tent!
Ours didn’t come with a protection wall cover, I know some of the others do but this one does not. We used it once and staked it down and the tent did well overall, we will see how it holds up over time- so far doing well.
The tent did well in the rain and snow and it got a bit cold. Overall first trip was a great time. We will continue to push the tent and stove every chance we get!
Loved your video. Excellent Camp set up. We were there last fall ,fun place and good trails , we live in Gaylord so it’s close and convenient. Dingmans, which is now the Bear Inn has great food too.
We’ve rode the trails in the area many times but was our first time in the campground. Loved it and also how easy it is to ride great trails to the local restaurants.
@DirtyJakTheDustyBean Same with me, I started out tent camping for years, then converted a cargo trailer into a toyhauler. Every year, I upgrade something in the trailer. Most recently, I bought a lithium iron phosphate battery and charger that is a vast improvement over lead acid batteries. Keep up the great videos they are informative and a joy to watch. Happy trails
We just got a new hot tent for this winter. It’s the RBM Hexagon, can’t wait to check it out (it’s sitting in the box still). I think this one does have a center pole but not positive if it’s always needed.
This is one of our favorite places to go. 2 hours from home makes for a great quick weekend trip for us. The north side of the river has campsites as well and they are larger and right on the river.
We loved it also. Saw those sites on the north end, took the one we did as we were still on the river, only ones in the campground and were more set back from the road.

@@MichiganQuadTrailsTalesoh yea, we only rode about 10 miles or so on this one- we got to into the camping part. That stove fan really helped and was nice, barely used any electric on the pump- still was about full charge (at most 20% down)

Hi guys, hey can you tell me if the koala 7 lets rain in through the zipper of the big clear side windows? I have this tent but have not used it in rain yet, and just wondered how important it is to use the rainfly. RBM sent me the Panda Large to review and I realized today that the large clear windows on the roof do let rain in through the zipper, so for that one you definitely have to use the rainfly.
We’ve only been in the Koala 7 in one good rain (one night) it held up great with no rainfly for us. Note that the skylights on the roof do not have zippers that open to the outside, no leaks when we use either tent. We’ve used the Octopus many many times in the rain with no rainfly and that one has held up very well. The Koala is going to be our cold weather tent this year, we will put it more to test here soon. Would love to try the Panda, love the open windows up top.
@@DirtyJakTheDustyBean Great thanks! Yes the Panda is absolutely incredible, I have a complete setup and review on my channel, as well as one camping video that I actually filmed in my backyard cause I was so excited to use it I couldn't wait lol. The ONLY negative I've found is the dripping from those giant windows, but in their defense, the directions do say to use the rainfly lol :)
Great video. I am planning to buy the 6 to 10 rbm koala rbm tent. For winter camping. My question is, how would it stand when it rains. I notice there's a slight little gap from the wood stove chimney.. Does the? Rain or snow trickle down mainly rain. Thank you
@@MrVictor8979 we got a good light steady amount of rain and had no issues with the stove pipe space. Haven’t had it in heavy rain yet but figuring should be fine.
We didn’t have any issue with the tent smelling like smoke. The stove exhaust well and the tent is vented just in case a little smoke drifts in while loading more wood in the stove.
So far we have 3 nights of pretty cold weather camping in the Koala 7 and no issues with pressure in that trip. We have 9 nights so far in the Octopus in mainly warmer weather and has been also very good with the pressure but did add air one time when pressure showed at 6lbs versus 6 1/2 where we inflate to. Doubt it even need to be added. We have had some nice temp swings and so far both inflatable tents have held up pressure well.
Not sure if it was cut to big or supposed to be that way (tent comes with hole already in it from manufacturer). The tent still stayed warm enough just would like to touch that up before next winter and the temps are a bit colder than they were this time around.
@@DirtyJakTheDustyBean aha! i guess some of the other brands you have to cut your own hole. im in FLA, so im very interested an inflatable canvas that has those two ports for a/c. I only see it on the '7' version. Thanks for the speedy response, and happy camping !
@@LittleHouseofBeansit rained a few times during our last trip hard at times and very little water came in (very little snow as well). It doesn’t seem to be a big issue (water coming in with stove in). Thank you for subscribing we will check your videos out as well!
We did some cooking on the stove and a little running out for food. We love doing both cooking and usually visiting as many local restaurants as we can. Thanks for stopping by.
We did not get any with this trip using the wood stove for heat. We have also used a diesel heater which keeps the tent warm and dry. When we use The Buddy Heater (propane) things aren’t always as dry.
You really need a portable diesel heater in there. None of those temps were really warm in that tent. If you need winter clothes on inside, your heat is insufficient.
That's awesome! The campsite, the tent.. everything!
Gorgeous place for sure!
That looks so cozy!
Kind of feels like luxury camping! Lol
Cool content. No bugs and no crowds are the best part of living through northern Michigan winters.

Just wondering if you got any condensation on the inside walls and ceiling when you are heating the tent. Thanks!
We have taken it out one time so far while using the wood stove and no condensation for that trip at all.
I have heard of that CCC Bridge , Where is it located?
From Dingman’s (Shirley’s and gas station on M72) about 1/2 mile west on M72 go south on Sunset Trail SE for just over 8 Miles.
perhaps the stove pipe hole was cut too big? When you get your flange issue resolved, please hit me back with a link.
