These lovely ladies aren’t just pretty faces , they know what they’re talking about and are very knowledgeable. I’m sold , I’ll be buying a few different styles of Silky Saws very soon . Thanks ladies 😀
Bought my first silky (gomboy 240 straight) last week, this week I can cut totally fast and changed my sawing 180degrees. It’s amazing to cut on the pull, I process wood so much faster. My Zubat is on the way because I’m in love!
I never realized how many saws their were. I could get a migraine just trying to pick one in the Hardware store. Who thought buying a saw could be so much fun! Great video! I just bought 2 el cheapos on a BOGO deal,$12 for 2. Hope I don't saw my leg off. We'll see what happens.
You are a man of my heart, they are my top 2 picks as well for a first time user! But then again, they are all pretty amazing! Thanks so much for your comment!!! 😃 Nita
I recently purchased a Super Accel...man, this thing is vicious, I cut myself in it while cleaning it, didn't even notice any pain, have only seen some blood to realize what happened. Incredible saw, can't believe how sharp and well made this is.
@@SILKYsaw Yes, I was debating on the 210 instead. Now it has been already ordered. I enjoyed some of your videos, and hope that leader over there stops with all his mandatory lockdowns. 😍
I saw a video you made and you mentioned Gloves that are great for folks with Arthritis in their hands. Will you please provide me a link to that video and a link to those gloves on your website! Thank you.
Hey, here is the link to the gloves video: ua-cam.com/video/TCVQGypyXIE/v-deo.html and this link is to our website: atcproducts.com.au/product-category/arthritic-gloves/gardening-gloves/ 😃 Thanks, Shenae
Hi Bob, thank you for message. I am glad you like our video. From my understanding, almond trees are a fairly nice tree to cut. I think you will be more than happy with one of these saws. Two saws I would suggest for you is the Silky Zubat Saw or the Silky Gomtaro Hand Saw. If you are cutting more on an angle (above your head) I would suggest the Zubat Hand Saw as it has a curved blade making it more efficiently when cutting up high, as that is the way your arm naturally moves. If you are cutting more in front of you, I would suggest the Gomtaro Hand Saw and this has a straight blade, making it great allrounder for pruning at different highest. Both these saw are excellent! When it comes to choosing blade length, measure the largest limb you will cutting. The longer the blade the faster the cut, as there will be more teeth gliding through that branch. The Zubat Hand Saw has a blade length that goes up too 330mm and the Gomtaro Hand Saw blade length goes up too 300mm! If you have any more questions please don’t hesitate to ask :) Shenae
Hi, thanks for your entertaining videos. I've been enjoying them, and learning at the same time. What about a first Silky for someone who has used a pull saw before and is confident that they won't push it? For general purpose use.
Hi Bayagul, that is a great idea. We are going to do a video on that subject! For me, I believe that you cant go past the Gomtaro 300mm large tooth. Code 102-30. If you want a folder then I would recommend the Gomboy 300mm 121-30. These are both excellent all rounder saws that are a pleasure to use. Thanks for your question, Nita.
Great question! I thought I'd give it a try for you, so I can explain it better. I put the pocket boy blade in a F180 frame, and it doesn't work. It got stuck, I almost had a heart attack lol. The blades have a slightly different design at the back of the blade 😃 Shenae
Thank you Shenae. I have a Red Large Tooth F180 for camping, hunting, and Bushcraft. I also have the Yellow “Fine” tooth F180. I was hoping that the X-Fine Blade from the purple pocket boy would work for detailed jobs and cutting bone. I guess no. 😟. Thank you for your quick response. Do you ship to the U.S.?
@@donnyzarra Your right.......the purple would be awesome for that, but you will have to get the whole saw in this case 😏We can ship all of our products to the U.S, but not the Silky's, sorry!
Just started watching and it is crazy. The Silky I chose for my first one ever is the Gomboy 210 curved! Now I am curious if I can use the straight blades on that handle. I watched the video that you did, Nita, where you put the curved blade on the black handle gomboy but now I am curious if that orange-yellow curved 210 handle on the gomboy can use a straight blade. I am choosing the folding saw for my bugout bag and for bushcraft.
That is a great choice for your bugout bag! And if you get the other blade you have pretty much all situations covered. Instinctively you knew which one to get first 😅
@@SILKYsaw do you happen to know if the straight blade from the gomboy 210 will fit onto the curved handle gomboy 210? You had a video with Nita doing the curved blade onto the black straight handle. Now can the straight blade go onto the orange yellow handle?
Very helpful and engaging video. Do you have similar suggestions for horizontal cutting, as for dropping standing 5-20 cm hardwood trees? Stay well and thank you.
Thank you Birdland Bill! I think that the Straight blades are best for Horizontal cutting. My choice would be the Gomtaro Large tooth or the Natanoko. www.arborlab.com.au/folding-saw/hand-saws/gomtaro-straight-blade-large-tooth-handsaws.html I hope this helps! 😀 Nita.
Thank you for helpful suggestion. I'm clearing 8 acres of the invasive hardwood and need to branch for stacking compactly. Currently using a 61" bowsaw or a chainsaw for this. I enjoy handsawing's quieter, less jarring and less dangerous qualities. Dropping and branching 50-100 highly branched and tangled 20-40 ft trees/session. Had thought the Ibuki was the way to go for me and a 330 cm Zubat for a high school student working with me. Had not considered how the curved blade is more for vertical cuts as arborists often do. The wonderful Gomtaro and Natanoko seem a bit short to me for the bigger diameter trees. > 25 cm it's all chain saw. Was also thinking of branching with the Ono, but not clear on how well it will work with hardwood branches. You folks ship often to US? Your presentations are informative, helpful and a refreshing break from the prepper sites I've run across (which provide some great reviews of Silky saws, but not for my intended use). Thank you again. @@SILKYsaw
@@birdlandbill7867 Unfortunately as we are the Australian importers, we are unable to sell out of Australia, but if you want a Silky that is not available in America you could check out other Australian distributors as they sometimes post overseas. The Masaru is a larger straight blade that also works well on large branches and the Kamasorime. You should be able to purchase the Genki over there, its a major alternative to a small chainsaw. 500mm long blade. www.arborlab.com.au/genki-temagari-hand-saw.html
What Silky would you recommend for cutting standing trees 18cm and under at ground level? Curved or straight blade? Most will be saplings in the 5-6cm range, but a few a bit larger. I am leaning towards a Zubat 270 with large teeth, as I would prefer the rigidity of a full tang/fixed saw, but I know this is overkill for the small ones and will cause jumping...so possibly a Pocketboy for the small ones? Thanks in advance. Your videos have been extremely helpful since discovering Silky a few weeks ago.
Hi, 5-6cms is the ideal width for the large tooth Zubat. If you have the space I would even bump it up to the 330mm, then when you are cutting the larger ones you will get through them even faster. The pocket boys are great for a few cuts, but if you're working all day I would definitely go for a full tang like the Zubat. I hope this helps😃 Nita.
@@SILKYsaw Thanks so much for the reply, Nita! I ended up ordering the 300 with large teeth about an hour ago 😂. I actually wanted the 330 after watching your "Which Zubat?" video today, but it was only available with XL teeth...so the 300 should do fine for now. I'm quite sure I'll be buying more Silkys in the future. You two probably persuade more people to Silkys than Silky's marketing dept and reps do!
@@radishfox308 Great choice, you will love the 300 Zubat! I hope the postman works fast and you get to put it into action soon! 😃

I started with the f 180 but recently got a zubat 240 and it's the better saw but the f180 was very lightweight for backpacking
Yes, the light and small are awesome when you are limited with space, but the bigger ones will always win the comfort and speed race! 😃
