I have called Plumeria to try the suckling pig and was told that is not available on their regular buffet but only on special occasion . I guess they did it the day you made a reservation because they will be featured on your vlog. That is deceiving to patrons. If I just come there for the lechon, it will be very disappointing, glad I called and checked. Please mention Lechon is only on special occasion and not part of regular buffet, not to entice people to go there and try. I always watch your vlogs

The Kahala Hotel has seen a few US Presidents and other dignitaries from rhe US and other countries stay there, it is a high end hotel here on Oahu. Loved the video so much i watched it 2x in its entirety. We locals here identify black cod as 'butterfish' as it can be cooked in so many ways! and is so buttery smooth when swallowing!

thank goodness that i just made me a fresh slow cooked mid rare salmon belly or i would eat the ipad, haha. i would have avoided all fillers though, being its pretty up there in price. you are just so darn pleasant. :-)

Normally I always like your food videos and give it a like. But I am so disgusted that you went to this hotel because of the Buffat. You featured the tiny dolphin pool in your video. Dolphins should not be kept in captivity in this day and age of 2022. The small glimpse I got of that tiny pool where the dolphin is kept made me feel sick. Everyone should watch blackfish or the cove, so you will get an understanding of how dolphins are captured and kept in captivity.
they are well taken cared of... don't worry... you are an outsider without all the details and based on what you see, they are being in a small pool... hope you feel better ...🙄🙄

you mentioned that the Waianae pig farm feeds their pigs with moringa/marungay, etc (so many different spellings depending on the region) is displayed on the board at the 13:46 mark as it surrounds the succulent lechon. A lot of Filipino foods use the leaves (and its fruit) in this healthy superfood item.

If you liked the view at the Plumeria Cafe at The Kahala, you will really like Michel’s at The Colony Surf. It is an amazing fine dining restaurant right on the beach with an amazing sunset view. There is also Orchids at the Halekulani. And the Sunday brunch buffet at the Halekulani is something special as well.
Tim Hawaiians eat Butterfish mainly on lau lau. There is no butter, it is actually black cod. Lau lau which is Ono is pork, Butterfield wrapped in taro leaves. Tim I wrote my comment before you got to the fried cod sorry

Used to stay at what was the Kahala Hilton as a young girl - then was Kahala Resort - stayed SO SO many times. Beautiful spot. Never had that buffet though. Must go back one day.
It's quite an amazing setting overlooking the beach and really great food too! Someone just mentioned that when they called to book, they mentioned that the suckling pig was in part of the regular menu and it was only offered on different occasions.. I hope you got a chance to give that a try, it was probably the best roasted suckling pig I've ever had 🙂
The buffet looks good nice desserts as well. Prime rib was cooked just the way I like it also. Tim maybe you can stop by the pineapple factory 😀😀 Enjoy the island

I would say orchids first followed by this place (plumeria Beach House) and 100 sails.. but to be honest, and they were pretty close so you can't really go wrong with either choice

hey Tim! not sure how long ago this was filmed but if youre still there you should try atlantis submarine tours in honolulu. it was one of the coolest tours i did when i was there! ive never been in a submarine before. was relatively inexpensive too
Potato Mac salad is a Hawaiian specialty. It varies a bit, but your mom's is always the best. Because if you choose between the aunties you are going to have a problem.
Pretty Pricey $88 for a Buffet that's not self serve! Notice how the expensive items(Crab/Crab Legs) have an attendant.. But am sure folks eating there for the ambiance, view, & service..... Fight On!! ✌✌
A viewer just mentioned that the roast pork was not available during regular service... That is ashame as it was probably the best roast pork I've had .. yeah, I do like the self-serve style, but they were pretty generous with the crab...

My family and I visited the seafood buffet where you had visited couple years ago in Langley. Compare to the buffet and this one, I am still so disappointed with the one in Langley... I had watched your review video, so that was the reason we decided to try the one in Langley, but... so bad... maybe I should have tried the seafood buffet at RiverRock casino in Richmond. How does it compare to the 100 sails dinner buffet at the Prince?
I would say orchids first followed by this place (plumeria Beach House) and 100 sails.. but to be honest, and they were pretty close so you can't really go wrong with either choice

hey Tim! not sure how long ago this was filmed but if youre still there you should try atlantis submarine tours in honolulu. it was one of the coolest tours i did when i was there! ive never been in a submarine before. was relatively inexpensive too
Potato Mac salad is a Hawaiian specialty. It varies a bit, but your mom's is always the best. Because if you choose between the aunties you are going to have a problem.

A viewer just mentioned that the roast pork was not available during regular service... That is ashame as it was probably the best roast pork I've had .. yeah, I do like the self-serve style, but they were pretty generous with the crab...

My family and I visited the seafood buffet where you had visited couple years ago in Langley. Compare to the buffet and this one, I am still so disappointed with the one in Langley... I had watched your review video, so that was the reason we decided to try the one in Langley, but... so bad... maybe I should have tried the seafood buffet at RiverRock casino in Richmond. Anyways, enjoyed your video!

No, I never talked about the Coca-Cola shirts... Not a terribly interesting story,... They had a sale on shirts at the Coca-Cola store and I thought it was nice to have the slogan in many different languages 😉
