I've heard the same about vers 1, than about big multistrada, than ktm... But so far none was even close to gs. Do we like it or not. Problem is not that gs is best bike ever, but level of services (financial, aftermarket etc) provided by bmw in combination with brand name is so high, that i hardly doubt company like a Triumph can compete on these field
@@MrIronJhon BMW? The GS is not really a sophisticated motorcycle. The gearbox and quickshifter are like going through a box of rusty nails and the engine movement is quite noticeable. Furthermore, they are way too expensive, far from reliable, hourly rate for service way to high, BMW is very reluctant in acknowledging recalls and/or structural issues. I think it's mostly about the image. There will come a moment in time when the image starts to crumble (it's already ongoing: GS riders image: often 55+ year old white men with beer bellies who struggle with other motorbikes and only can go fast on their GS). There are so many better alternatives for the GS.... But hey, I know, it's an unpopular opinion. Nobody touches the GS image!
TMF, looking forward to your review. As a GS rider as well, it has to be great to persuade me to switch. I’m genuinely open minded and want to see a British success. Plus not a fan of BMW dealership local to me. 2022 pencilled in for decision so timely launch. Keep up the good work on your great channel.
This new Tiger 1200 range has blown me away, everything you could want in a modern adventure bike that can do it all. Awesome work all at Triumph 🙏 look forward to getting hold of one to test! 💰 💰 take my money now 👍
I can't find the transmission gear ratios on the 2022 1200 Tiger and the primary ratio gearing is not available under the tech specs information can someone tell me this because I find the first gear to be a little too high and not good for technical riding because it is too easy to stall out so I believe it needs to be geared a little lower in first gear for this type of riding if you go off road. Sixth gear is great for long distance cruising so leave the overall gearing alone so just the first gear needs to be lower somewhat like how the Ducati DesertX feels and it will be spot on for a great Rally Pro adventure bike should be!
Why would the road going version not have cornering lights or blind spot assist but the off-road does? And rear tyre 150/70/18 it’s a 1200 not a 400cc it’s a bit skinny for my liking. I’ll wait for the new gs !
Looking great Triumph! Really excited about this bike. Great to hear from some riders that have been trying it out. Last 1200 was super comfy, just a bit heavy and the engine not that exciting. Looks like you have solved both of those which means I don't have to get a gs like everyone else my age 😂
I think it’s so temping ! Just one question: “If I’m going to give up the telelever of my R1250 GS HP , will this Triumph “sit up” if something causes you to hit the brakes mid corner ?”
Too bad, I hoped for a bike wich is more roadfocused . I waited to buy a adventure bike until triumphs release but the tiger is not what I was looking for now I am deciding between the ktm super adventure or the Ducati multistrada v4s or maybe Ktm s super duke gt.
Looks great but no anti dive and no ACC? and the price? Seems very expensive when compared to others in the category. I really want to want one and I nearly do but for the lack of those two features.....I suppose Triumph will say they asked customers if they wanted ACC and because those they asked haven't lived with ACC they probably said no so they didn't bother. Anti dive is one reason why I loved mg GS and why I love my KTM SAS. Lets hope it appears on the new 1200 in the next few years. I do like the 30 litre tank and the overall design looks spot on.
Triumph doesn't mess around no model is over looked and new models where there might be a gap I support a company like this I have the previous 1200 love that bike and the Speedmaster which I think sounds better then my HD
Impressed, but lets wait for the GS1300GSA to show up so much of technology ,seems like Triumph nailed it, one thing I don understand, Plastic/ Aluminum Panniers, weird this is a pass se, belongs to the past, I guess Triumph didn't hear about Semi-Rigid Panniers
Looks like it is a 150/70-18. That kills the bike for me. Significantly fewer tire choices. Not enough rubber on the deck for sport touring with 100 ftlbs of torque. 150's square off terribly too. Benchmark any other high performance street oriented ADV bike, and you will find a 170+ section 17" section tire. How did this make it to production!
@@philipparana9225 I solved with perforated summer clothing and summer windshield. My second bike which is a KTM 790 adv heats up much more even in winter, in summer traffic it is unbearable but I love bikes and nothing will stop me from using them all year round. ✌
I'm would take a lot of persuasion to swap my 900 rally pro for one. Lend me one for the abr festival or the Kielder 500 if it works I'll show you my money .
Amazing bike indeed! Can't wait to try it in France. But again a trail, and ADV bikes are like SUV's these days: cool look, good capacities in forest ways for all of us (real off-road with that, well, 1% of us dare to do it...), but fat and not always practical in real bike life. But to travel long and protected on road, I'd rather prefer an all new Triumph Trophy, or even a Sprint new generation. Go back to work guys, go beat BMW on his own land and not only the GS! ;-)

I love Triumph and have owned one for well over 20 years. However, I don’t like the single sided exhaust on the more modern ones. I know, I know “but that’s what they’re all doing these days”. It’s a personal thing and I think it messes up the lines of the bike.
Amazing ! all the blurb and UA-cam influencers the hype and no sat nav or bracket on a transcontinental tourer, oh and the centre stand is extra as well, at least the other bike they keep referring to has it all. When it beats it for sales then it will be King.
Even though it's a relatively modest in-house production video full of trite corporate buzz-speak, this 1200 series does look like a pretty convincing platform. As for *"other shaft-drive competition,"* 🤣 the thing in Triumph's favour of course is the well proven reliability of *their* drive's fundamental construction. Ten out of ten for Triumph's unique swingarm design. If people can get over any concerns regarding the *Thai connection,* Triumph actually stand a chance of presenting an even more serious challenge to the Austro-German super-ADV hegemony. Brilliant marketing ploy to hit the diversity button without looking tediously woke (remember the success Subaru had all those years ago with exactly the same strategy). If the likes of *TheMissendenFlyer,* *Bret Tkacs* or *FortNine* were to eventually provide a positive independent endorsement based on their well-recognised comprehensive reviews, this could be a major step for Triumph.
And whar are the AFTER costs of this bike ? - service costs....service intervals.... costs of parts...??? What is the REAL fuel consumption ? This things are important, because quite a few will, probabøy, obtain this bike not from "ice-cream money", but by taking a loan. This means - every peny counst.... Besides, this kind of information should be included in every presentation of any technical device.

Beautiful and powerful. Just scheduled my test ride. Lets see if this bike can surpass the GS and make me return to triumph. Cheers!!!
Bom dia!!

No numbers on the cruising range on a full tank? MPG?
Would be good to know if I have to choose between a 20 or 30 liter tank.
On another UA-cam video it's claimed 250 miles per tank for the 20 litre and 375 for the 30 litre
