    New parts are generally more expensive then test equipment, which you can reuse on any car. Dont guess, test your voltages and pressures at different points in the system. Thatll be alot faster and usually cheaper

    That light would NOT go off on first startup... you reset with OBD tool

      The P0171 does not clear itself even after repairs so to start the car like he fixed it is nonsense.

    06 camry solara p0171! Ive replaced PCV valve, pcv hose, MAF sensor denso, o2 sensor denso, spark plugs, ignition coils, smoked for vacum leaks, and still cant get rid of check engine light! Was told it was either the fuel pump or fuel injectors! Just bought a new camry so not sure if im still willing to spend more money trying to repair!!

    PCV valves are very simple and cheap to buy and install. Replacing one is easy and cheap to do. Cleaning one is also fast and easy. But do the simple and cheap things before changing out the fuel pump. I had my fuel pump replaced at 285K miles in a 2000 Corolla by a certified mechanic (it is in raw fuel in the fuel tank with access under the rear car seat... no need to take any chances with gasoline) .

      @cmr22 6 місяців тому

      Believe it or not you would waste your money to work on the fuel pump with a mechanic one if the easiest parts to fix this car has and im not a mechanic

    I have the same issue, I have replace mass air flow sensor, 02 Sensor, and PCV Valve/hose. But my check engine still on after all of those are replaced. I’ve noticed my engine rattles loud when idle and the rpm goes up for no reason. What could be the problem? Please help?

      @@Greenbear39 i have an 07 camry se 4cyl. got vsc skidding wheels and check engine light on. researched it replaced the fuel cap. that worked for a minute. Had my mechanic change the spark plugs. bougth it with 106k miles in 2018. Now has 139k. never replaced plugs. hell never tuned it up. I broke out my brand new Autel obd reader. I get p0171 system too lean bank one. did this today on sunday morning. my mechanic thought it was originally the battery which was under warrenty. I replaced it. we just changed plugs yesterday denso irridum. no problems. later in the day, same errors. seems to be intermittent problem. could it be the coils? should i just replace maf sensor, pcv valve sensor and o2 sensor by the exhaust in the front of the engine? the fuel filter is a bear on under the seat.

      @@Greenbear39 can u recommend good toyota parts supplier? Do u trust amazon? I just checked my hoses for vacuum leaks. Doesnt look like a problem. I say MAF sensor pcv valve and o2 sensor in the front of the car are the culprits. I just changed the spark plugs. I changed my gas cap. my mechanic is old school. not so strong with sensors and computers. will do a great job for not that much money.

      After checking and replacing PCV valve and oxygen sensor, fuel pump went out and that was main cause.

    Hey I have a 2007 Toyota Camry le with the check engine light on , coding p0171 system too lean (Bank 1) , I’ve replaced valve cover because it was pretty bad on oil leak, the car starts up just fine, do you think I have a vacuum leak, bad Pcv valve , o2 sensor , or do I need to replace the fuel pump?

    • @mydiygarage
      @mydiygarage  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, possibly PCV valve and hose.

    If it’s the oxygen sensor would it automatically cut off when replaced or would I have to drive a few cycles for the light to cut off. Thanks in advance I changed the pvc valve and oxygen sensor

    • @mydiygarage

    • @mydiygarage
      @mydiygarage  3 роки тому +3

      Yes, after replacing the PCV valve and hose and changing oxygen sensor no leak air was found till fuel pump went out. I have ordered the parts and will upload new video on changing fuel pump on same camry.
