I hear people complain about how nursing homes treat their loved ones, But they don't want to care for them. M y Grandmother cared for her father-in-law for many years. My Mom took care of my father for 15 years while he battles cancer until he had to be placed on a respirator. You two are special people

But sadly, the care of an elderly woman will fall on the wife not the son as I’ve learned from my hubby promising to care for his mom..and with 2 knee replacements and back surgery I’m not physically able to do it..I couldn’t care for my own mom after lifting on her and then needing back surgery I unfortunately had to send her to a nursing facility..hope your body holds out if she needs that kind of care…and before anyone decides to jump me for not caring for my mother..I’m sorry but my body wouldn’t hold up to it
@@Shopgirl1 You could have asked the state for a helper to help with her care there are so many programs today that will help with the care of our seniors. They would have paid for it and if not l am sure she had SS check income that would have paid for it. Not to worry what goes around comes around "Shame On You" l wonder if she would have given you up if she had health issues like so many young people today have. l don't think so!

There comes a time when u have to take care of yourself if taking care of someone else is affecting your own health..I was falling and losing control of my bowels and bladder from needing back surgery..it’s so easy for you to judge isn’t it..

I never comment, but I had to say I love your channel. You and Tim are such a blessing to watch. Wonderful that your mother-in-law lives with you and that promise that Tim made to his mother was honored. My children said the same exact thing I said I would never want to be a burden to them; all 4 said you are not a burden and you’ll never see the inside of a nursing home. I am blessed to have the children that I have. My husband died nine years ago, and they have rallied around me ever since. I am 73.

Valerie I have so much going through my brain right now but I’ll keep it short 😅 I absolutely love the idea of the question and answer video, I’ve wanted to ask you questions before but wasn’t sure if it was appropriate or not.
When you said Tim promised his mom that she’d never go into a nursing home I started crying. What a wonderful thing for a son to do for his mother, I see why you snatched him up 😁 y’all are just a hoot to watch, it’s always uplifting for me.

Love you and Tim so much Valerie! I made the same promise to my parents that Tim made to his Mother. My parents are 83 and 90, and I take care of them and their sweet little home everyday and it is pure joy for me. The days are long and hard sometimes with keeping up with both houses, but God gives me strength!
My husband and I had a duplex with my parents and took care of them for twenty four years. At first,I did all of their cooking,cleaning,laundry,ironing,shopping,painting,mowing,etc.,so that my dad could take care of my mom in a wheelchair, her last five years,she was bedridden in a hospital bed in his living room and we took care of her together. After she passed at age 79,my dad was still okay on his own next door.( Our living rooms connected by the main entry) I still did a lot for him until his last five years when he had dementia,then he was my full time job. We were able to open the doors like one house and I had alarms and locks,thankfully he wasn’t a runner! He died at age 89,ten years after my mom. It was the perfect caregiver house, and both of my parents lived and died at home. It was a tremendous amount of work that took its toll on us mentally, emotionally and physically,but I wouldn’t have had it any other way. That being said,I also don’t judge others who may have to put their parents in a home,because while my dad just became quieter and quieter,I have had friends whose parents had Lewey Body dementia and hit and punched everyone and screamed and scratched because of hallucinations. So…..NEVER say never! You will know what and when you need to do something differently.🫤

I made that same promise. I tell my mom (95) all the time she will never end up in a nursing even if I have to work 2 jobs. Well, she fell and fractured her hip a few weeks ago. I am dying inside to have to put her in rehab for a few weeks. I just don't want to catch charges because someone is mean to my mom. BTW, love the hair out...

Im glad to hear you have long-term tenants. It's always helpful to have an additional income source!
We promised our Dad he wouldn't have to go to a nursing home, butsadly, his dementia got to a point he was threatening harm to us (& tried to carry it out a few times), so we were left with no alternative. There is no shame in that either, my sister and I did our very best. Our Mom passed at home, we took care of her too. Hugs to you both as caretaking is an enormous undertaking. I'm looking forward to your next post! Enjoy those mountains & each other! 🧡💛💚

I do like the question/answer segment idea too. Valerie, I don't remember seeing your hair down before but I do have a bad memory sometimes, lol! You have pretty hair and it looks nice down too btw. Mine stays in a bun all the time until I go to bed or when I wash it. I don't know why but, it makes my face itch when I try to wear it down. I swear, I think I'm allergic to my own hair, lol! When I was young I wore it down all the time and it never bothered me like it does now. I cut it short whenever I get tired of it, lol! That's getting harder to do as I get older. It just grows so fast I can't enjoy the short hairdo for very long at all, lol! Have a beautiful blessed night. 🙏

hey Valerie! We lived a trailer for a while growing, up My parents always called it a trailer. I also had many relatives who lived in trailers. I think alot of us who grew up with country folk just called it that. And yes they were always a home. Warm, cozy and clean. I currently live in a modular home and get a kick out of some of the other people who live in our park when I call it a trailer. TeeHee! They always say this is an elite park and you call it that! Shame on you. I just laugh. They know I am just kidding, but the term trailer always makes me feel warm and loved, especially when I remember going into my grandma and grandpas house for dinner and the smell of smoked ham filled that little trailer. Best memories. OH! And when you took Tim on a ride in that four-wheeler cart thing and took that sharp turn around the trampoline, I thought I would die laughing! I bet Tim was saying his prayers!!!! LOL

I grew up in a 10 x 55 trailer with my mom. Although I’ve owned a couple of houses, we retired in a 16 x72 trailer. It sits in the mountains of western PA, in a park.

Dear Valerie and Tim, I started watching you when you were in the middle of the rehab on the bedroom of the single side you rented. I decided to go back further to catch up on when you first renovated that trailer. Do you realize in a week, two years ago you started renovating that mobile home? Time sure flies and I guess I didn’t realize you had totally redid the kitchen also!! Man, you two really put in some work and money into that project! It looked so good after you were finished. Valerie, I live in a trailer we just bought a couple months ago. It’s a 2018 single wide. Although it’s my home, I’ll always call it a trailer, cause that’s what it is. I spent many a summer and weekends in my aunt and uncle’s trailer and it brings back a ton of memories.
No worries we understand in Virginia lots of people called their mobile home trailer no offense your trailer is a mansion mobile home Valerie cannot wait to see the kitchen renovations

I live in a townhouse and call it a house. 😂 It’s a home rather it’s in a community or on a mountain. ♥️ Your property is BEAUTIFUL!! My only thing is them big ole meals you cook. I gasp at that amount of food in one meal. I couldn’t afford to do that😂
