Lucas, from the bottom of my heart - THANK YOU. This 2018 recording may be the last time we, her loyal and loving fans, ever hear Liza accompanied by a band - and it is your generosity of spirit that has made that happen. It’s so easy for people to criticise her vocal shape at this late stage in her life but as she has essentially retired now and I imagine it’s through Michael Feinstein’s encouragement and gentle supervision that she gets to enjoy a small taste of the enjoyment around a piano and at private parties - sadly, outside of a few short video clips on facebook - we have lost that connection that we felt to a performer we have been a fan of for years. Some of us followed her performances across the globe, some less fortunate have relied on bootlegs other fans were kind enough to make and it’s people like you that keep fans like me connected to her legacy.
