Great video. Got one in white. Never heard of it before. Needed back up car and got one. Real cool car. Super rare and blends in with the rest of the S models without turning heads but 1 time when a guy knew what it was. Huge smile on his face and made my day.
Super nice car ,man. I bought a 2005 XRS new. I was young at the time and didn't take as good of care of it as I could have (city living, dents and scratches, prolonged maintenance) but she always treated me right. Had that car for 10 years. Still miss it.
You're right. Simple is special and this car is the last of it's breed. That manual throttle, the close ratio 6 speed... I'm drive a 2.7 cayman but these make me jealous
This car has all the trait to rise in value, althoug it is just a corolla. There were only about 6000 made and people dont care about them much. But it was a tuned version for real. That yamaha 2ZZ really did the trick for it.
I also recently got an XRS 2006. Pretty sure you can just buy a fob for lock/unlock and program it yourself. Previous owner of mine told me he did that.
Not possible. Like I mentioned in the video, some cars (depending on options) came with the remote capability pre-installed, others did not. A car that had that option from the factory came with fobs; a car that didn't (like mine) only had a key. I went to the dealer, they put the VIN into their system and showed me on the screen where the car did not have the remote capability equipped. So just getting a fob like I tried to and described will not work. A 3rd party could install the feature but that's more $$$ than I want to pay.
Beautiful car man! Im enjoying my silver '05 XRS as well a year into ownership. I've followed your series on it and coming from around your era and owning mostly Hondas previously ( 1st car was an '88 Prelude Si 4WS ).. something just spoke to me when i hopped into the Rolla for the first time. It reminded me of my prior '00 Civic EM1....but with more torque! I too also opted for the R9K reflash, magnaflow exhaust, STS, base bushings and cable bushings and CAI and it definitely feels quicker under WOT! Can you tell me for your DOHC VTTL-I side decals, did you opt for rhe 16.75" length or the 12"? Thanks again for all the Rolla insight 👍
@@gray25xt perfect! I took a guess and ordered the 12" lol....only in black to match the EM1 silver color scheme 👍. Maybe I'll vlog a bit of Corolla content soon perhaps 🤔
Hey gray, just recently came across your channel, how did you come across an xrs ? they are terribly hard to find and I have been trying to find one for some time. thank you for your time.
@@wafflemaine3953 I actually have a video on this exact subject, it’s called “How do I find all these rare cars” or something like that, search for it, it’s recent. Short answer is I know exactly what I want, I look everywhere daily, I have cash on hand, and I am ready to travel far and wide at a moments notice to get the rare ones when they pop up. That’s pretty much how I find every car on this channel, most of which are pretty rare.

Your magnaflow sounds way better than the trd one. This was my 1st new car. I’ve loved Toyota since the 4age fx from the 80s.

Such an under appreciated car! Loved it so much as my previous car.. sold it for the Fiesta ST.
Hey I have one of those too. Two great purpose-built special sleeper cars.
You can get remote for it installed. And what great video. Enjoy the xrs

There is just something about the 9th gen corollas that looks sexy even til now. A reliable future classic
Man that looks so good! Very clean looking!
