- Present perfect (das Perfekt) in German language uses haben or sein as helping verb and main verb is used in perfect form called Partizip II. Perfect in German language is most frequently used tense to describe a happening which has occured in past. To describe an activity in past most of the conversation uses present perfect in German language instead of past tense. There is a specific sentence structure of present perfect in German language and this perfect sentence structure is explained in lesson 26 of A1 German language course for beginners.
The sentence structure of present perfect in German language is explained below.
1. The first place in German sentence structure is occupied by the subject.
2. At the 2nd position in the German sentence structure we have to select verb haben or sein.
3. At 3rd position there could be preposition, direct object etc.
4. At last position in the German sentence structure of present perfect there will be perfect form of verb. Perfect form of verb is also called partizip II in German language.
The use of haben or sein in German perfect depends on nature of the verb.
For all German reflixive verbs we use haben in German perfect and haben is conjugated according to the subject of sentence.
Similarly all verbs that require an accusative object use haben in German perfect and haben is conjugated according to the subject of sentence.
Verbs which have some movement take verb sein as helping verb in present perfect in German language.
Verbs which have express change of state also take sein as helping verb in present perfect in German language.
There are some expections where there is neither movement in sentence nor change of state but still we use sein in present perfect in German language.
The use of haben or sein in perfect is most challenging part. However, with certain practice the use of haben or sein in German perfect can be mastered. In the 2nd part of lesson 26 of A1 German language course for beginners we will discuss some more examples to make the use of haben or sein in perfect more clear.
I used some examples of transitive verbs, made a present tense in German, and then changed the present to the Perfekt form.
Er baut sein Haus (He builds his house)
Er hat sein Haus gebaut (He built his house)
Sie kaufen ihr neues Auto (They buy their new car)
Sie haben ihr neus Auto gekauft (They baught their new car)
Sie schließt das Fenster. (She closes the window.)
Sie hat das Fenster geschlossen (She has closed the window)
Making sentences on your own really tests your knowledge. I checked the Perfekt form of these verbs on the internet and translated them, keeping the definite/indefinite articles, adjective endings, and personal pronoun endings in accusative case in view. Really like your videos. I hardly comment on UA-cam, but your teaching style is just wow.

I wanna know why Ich is conjugated by bin? I didn't understand that.
Bin is the conjugation of "sein" verb for subject ich. Every verb in German language has a conjugation. Like in Urdu. If you say I am sick. Mn bemar hon. He is sick. Wo bemar hai. So there is difference between hon and hai. And it depends on the subject of sentence. For subject mn its hon and for subject he its hai.

Hi sir, i am a chinese teacher with disablity from India due to covid no one want to learn chinese now. So i decided to learn German language but with slight confusion. what is Infinitive and what is Perfct? The rest i understood. R they present and past?
Thanks for your question. Infinitive form of verb is simple form like lesen, essen, trinken, this form has to be conjugated as per subject. Perfect form or partizip II form is used for describing events that have happened in past. This is equivalent to 3rd form in English. Like, I have (gone) through......now go is infinitive form and gone is (Partizip II)
@@Germany4Students danke, ich habe es verstanden
what about past tense??
Past tense will be taught in A2 level. Complete A1 and then join A2. A2 has already started
