This makes me feel good about the future of front end development: As well as knowing your way round frameworks like this, the main jobs left for developers are in creating the User Interface.

You're either delusional or a mediocre "developer".

people think developers are going to kill all the jobs but developers are actually gonna kill other developers lmao that thing did more than what I know how to do in 20 minutes.

This is very cool! I do assume you need quite a good understanding of the major sections of the AWS ecosystem to really get up to speed with AWS Amplify...

Been trying to use amplify for the last year now on 3 different projects. Honestly speaking it works nice provided nothing breaks. As soon as it does you'll have to really know the AWS ecosystem to get it working. I tend to spend more time solving edge cases in amplify than actually coding my apps... It seems to have so much promise but falls short in a lot of ways for me... Or I'm just dumb 🤷🏼‍♂️

What's he using for the text-replacement macros?

I think he runs pre created shell scripts to modify files using cp and >> append pipe.
That's a very neat trick, I am going to use it too XD

    Confusing concept.
You have to know AWS fairly well to use Amplify in order to understand the options (unless you like shooting in the dark). However If you already know AWS well, you can already setup this stuff just as quickly without Amplify and without having to learn the Amplify cli and nuances.

Thanks but this is clearly not for new users. I´m a front end developer, getting into creating entire projects by my self so no experience with backend or devops stuff, I think the castvote.sh part is not clear at all I couldn´t continue after that. Never opened the file, whats in that file, how did all those files where created specially the .vtl files. I think It would be better if you showed the entire project tree not just copy routes from the console and expect people to know where everything is placed and why, so maybe a right click copy/paste would be better for people with less experience.
    Anyways, cheers!
