Thank you so much for showing how make this snow man I had hard time with the hat but I finally got it! I'm about to add the buttons now I made it for my mother inlaw I think she will really like it, I add fiber fill still it turn out great.
Here's my thought. What if for the stuffing you stuffed a white small plastic garbage bag? It would act as a white lining for a double crochet stitch in this case.
Unfortunately, it probably wouldn't work out very well to follow the exact same pattern but replace the double crochet with single crochet. Because of the height difference, it would distort the overall shape of the project. I don't have a single crochet snowman pattern currently, but now you've got me wanting to adapt this pattern to a single crochet version! I might have to film that this winter.
Hello, I'm new to this I cant work out how to do the double stitching because the focus isn't very clear. Could you upload a video for this! Thank you.
@@rosemarypadrick5190 I'm not the best at figuring out yardage for my projects, but if I had to guess, I'd say about 100 yards should be plenty. I used less than half a skein, and a full skein of this yarn is 252 yards. So I would think 100 yards would be in the ballpark. Hope this helps!
This pattern was available on my blog, which crashed last fall. But, I'm in the process of rebuilding my site right now! Once I get this pattern back on my site, I'll link to it in the description for this video.
Yay that you're already on your second one, but oh no that you're having problems with the hat! Here are some extra resources that might be helpful, and if there's something else that is giving you trouble, just let me know and I'll do my best to help! Triangle stitch in depth - ua-cam.com/video/T7PmmWk0GGM/v-deo.html This video goes over how to work the triangle stitch in greater detail. The triangle stitch is a double crochet with a single crochet worked in its side, and it creates the increases as we work down the hat. Any size elf hat - ua-cam.com/video/lO-KDZ2vp_o/v-deo.html This video shows how to make an elf hat, but this might be a good option instead of what is shown here. You could work the pattern in one color, and once it was as wide as the head of your snowman just work even rows of single crochet or double crochet until the hat is the length you want. This pattern is somewhat similar to what is shown in the snowman video, and is a way to create a hat that's a bit longer and narrower, kind of like what I made for the snowman. I'm also hoping to put the pattern back up on my blog. It crashed a while back and the article with this pattern is one of the things I lost. But I'm hoping to get the pattern back up there soon! Again, if there's a specific part giving you trouble, just let me know and I'll do my best to help!
I haven't tried it with single crochet, but you could always give it a try! You might need to adjust the increases because of the height difference between single crochet and double crochet.
No offense taken.😄 So I didn't give him a face because I'm not very good at adding faces, and the faces I add usually make the project look worse! haha I've tried different options of using buttons, embroidering faces on, etc. but usually they turn out... less than cute. So I didn't include a face on my snowman, but that doesn't mean you can't give yours a face! Hope you and your friend enjoy making this project
@@CraftersAutonomous oh okay that's understandable. Thank you for getting back to me. I'm having a lot of fun helping my friend make one of these for her grandchild. I did subscribe to your channel and I have a channel KimlvsArty if you'd like to check it out. I don't do too many videos. I some videos where I show my crochet finished projects. Thank you for doing this tutorial it's a lot of fun. 👍☺️
I never measured it (and don't have it with me because I made this as a gift), but if I had to guess I'd say it turns out about 8"-10" tall? Sorry I don't have a better answer than that, but hopefully it gives you an idea of the size!

Cute snowman ⛄
I use whatever I have on hand for stuffing, grocery bags , bread bags or whatever else is handy .
I'm the same way! Why spend money on stuffing, when plastic bags and scrap yarn is free? 😄
Thank you for this!!! I literally made mine in 1 day. Already making a second
That's so awesome! Glad you like the pattern. ☃️
Love the video! Do you have a pattern for a little smaller version?😊
Sorry, I just have the one size.

I love your snowman. Can I do single crochet & stuff with stuffing. Do I use the same pattern & number of stitches?

That would be GREAT!!!! Thanks so much for replying to me.@@CraftersAutonomous
How tall is this snowman? I would love to use it as a centerpiece so I would like it to be around 10 inches tall.
Hmmm I don't have the snowman with me to take measurements, but I would guess it's close to 10 inches tall.
This is so cute. I saved it to make later. I have lots of bags!
Thanks! I hope your snowman turns out awesome!
Lovely and beautiful
Thank you!
Loving this, mine is turning out great...can't wait for the end. Thank you for the tutorial
That's awesome! I'm planning to post Part 2 tomorrow and Part 3 the day after that so you won't have long to wait. ☺️
I can't wait to make it!!
I hope this project goes well for you!
Lovely snowman thank you. Our bags disintegrate so I can’t use them but a great idea for recycling. ☃️
Glad you enjoyed the project! If the bags won't work, you could always use traditional forms of stuffing.
SO CUTE!!!!
Thanks! It was so fun to design and make, so I hope you enjoy creating this project as much as I did.

I've got a video teaching the double crochet stitch here - ua-cam.com/video/lzhJNVU1OFI/v-deo.html
Hope that helps!

Thank you!
Going through my yarn stash right now to see what yarn I can use 😊 Approximately how many yards of the white yarn did you use?
