I know how you feel. I work nights and woke up around 11am that morning to find that this had happened. I remember feeling so many emotions....fear, hopelessness, unbelief, and others. I had to be with my family for comfort. I got in my car and drove directly to my parents house and watched the horror unfold with the feeling of security with them. I do the same thing with the videos around this time every year.
We had on the radio, at work. A Disney type movie day...that the world trade got hit. Thinking its Boston for where am from...I went in to dispatch to see on T.V what's good...& Jesus what timing. As this plane was what hit at real time, the south tower. Not a repeat..real shit. 20 yrs later & a vet of O.I.F.,the emotions are raw still. Smh

lol... the plane that struck the second tower was a Military aircraft... rather than watching their interpretation of what happened, go back and watch actual video footage... the plane was all grey in color and No windows. eye witnesses on the ground stated that it looked like a Military plane, Not a commercial plane. I would suggest You to start the process of putting those shattered pieces back together... do you believe your own eyes or Only what the Media tells you to believe...?
Like the uncle who was in north tower attending to a burnt victim as he hear the plane hitting the south tower but having no idea his sister and niece where on board 😳😱😭
They didn't know shit what was going on besides different flight course and what is going to happen of course in their small tower! Anything can happen from Mogadishu to Malaysian just diving into Antarctica Water! First half hour broadcast on TV everyone was still confused what really happened until there was footage of a 2nd plane hitting the 2nd tower. Eye witnesses telling all different stories. Plus Air Control are trained to carry on and gather as much information as possible... what would hysterical Teletubby behavement bring?! They hi-jackers communicated even a bit at start (they didn't need to of course) and info got passed quick to Higher Authorities. 30 minutes is a rather long time no military jets were sent up accompanying the plane. IN NYC/Washington rather Wyoming/Idaho!!!! Any US Base in 80ies was better secured than Pentagon in 2000 - LMAO! Even if they hadn't shot.... which makes it stink most of foul play. Well plus how could Nostradamus all know the big historic stunts to come over 400 yrs ago. And if just one planned stunt hadn't happened all the rest wouldn't fit. If there was no WW1 there'd still be no Israel. Now this is the big incident for WW3. Strengthening Islam invading Europe.
They had no idea. Until 9/11 hijacked planes didn't crash into buildings. They landed & used the hostages to negotiate. At first they didn't even know they were hijacked. The information we know, in retrospect, wasn't available to them in real time. There was so much confusion in ATC, the FAA & NORAD. there is a really good book that talks about who knew what& when..called Fall and Rise: a story of 9/11
@Schism Circle I don't know what the fuck you're talking about with this whole nanny business but airport security should no longer be lax on anyone. In this fucked up world, you can't trust anyone. And I hold those same views myself. Humanity is egomaniacal and I don't trust anyone which is why I carry my firearms everywhere I go.
True but in real life flight 175 didn’t descend at an angle like that it was like around between 5 and 10 degrees or something this was not intended to be an accurate simulation
@@bulletberg7601 a descent rate like that would mean it would drop more than 10,000 feet per minute. Flight 175’s actual descent was around 5,000 feet per minute
It just changed security at this point because look how people act these days. If you asked people what "changed us" they will now say "COVID". But ya, this is a day I will never stop thinking about(hints why I am watching this in 2021).
I never been to New York. I don’t even know anyone who died or anyone that has any connection to any victims and hero’s. The closest connection I have is that my brother was maybe about 20 miles more or less from the pentagon. This day still changed me. I was 16 and I will never forget how I saw it on the news thinking that it was an accident, then getting confused and not knowing what was going on after the second plane hit. For a while, it did not cross my mind that we were being attacked. For years after that, I could not bring myself to watch video footage or see pictures. It’s not that I wanted to forget, it was just sad. This year 2020, I got brave to watch some footage. I showed my son and told him what happened that day. It was hard for me to fight back the tears as I told him. I did it because everyone needs to know what happened. Rest In Peace victims. Thank you Hero’s such as the ones on flight 93 and others. Those include Law Enforcement, Fire Fighters, and doctors.
Here2stay 631 yes, one of the truest heroes. He trained so hard every day, that’s the only way he could make it up to the 80th floor or wherever he was when it fell. All the other fire fighters were at least 30 floors behind or much more, At least he got to comfort a large group of people trapped on one floor there the minute before it fell. He was and is an angel. I was glad to hear they created a fund to award in his honor every year to graduates.
I was friends with a girl who was in the twin towers back in the 90s when the towers were hit the first time she was ok though. Then on 9/11 there was someone who was killed that had the same name as my cousin, who I hadn't talked to in many years and I was worried it was him but I eventually got in touch with my cousin and it wasn't him thank God.
I lost two former high school classmates who were in the towers that day. My brother lost his second-best friend, a firefighter. But my heart goes out to all of the victims, their families and all those who were affected by this tragedy. We will never forget.
We should never forget how our military defense system failed to protect the American people that day. For the Pentagon to be struck directly without knowing what the hell was going on was not only humiliating but revealing to other countries that our Intelligence agencies and military leaders are incompetent at defending America.
I lost a cousin who was a young firefighter in NY. I’ve never met him, but my heart went out to his parents (my uncle) and other loved ones. They never saw him again and had nothing to bury. I also know someone who escaped the towers, but still found tiny glass pieces in her scalp a year later.
the badnun imagine being on a roller coaster drop but for 5 minutes the cabin would’ve been shaking like crazy this’s definitely the most violent flight of the 4
And this was one of the flights that had kids/families on board. 😢 Three children under the age of 5 were on this flight...one of them was a 2 year old girl who ended up being the youngest victim of 9/11. I can't imagine what they and their parents were going through. 😢
My heart fell down & out of my chest too when I saw the entire thing happening on t.v; All every one was doing was trying to live their lives & enjoy pleasures, working, traveling; & the women who were in the towers who were pregnant-- destroyed because of evil men. It was a horrible day in our nations history. None of them wil be forgotten.
United 93 is a 2006 docudrama thriller film. The film chronicles the events aboard United Airlines Flight 93, which was hijacked during the September 11 attacks of 2001, as well as the experience of air traffic control personnel as the attacks. This was very difficult for me to watch; because it was so real
It makes me crazy too when people say that it was make believe or a made up story. It's not a made up story. Thousands of people died that horrible day, Our nation was under attack. Horrible men came to take planes to run them into targets to destroy our economy. The World Trade Centers were destroyed, the Pentagon was attacked & the people/crew on Flight 93 fought back to protect the Capital building in Washington. The hijackers killed passengers on the flights, the attendants, the captains of the planes; Just so they could have the edge over not be stopped at what they were doing. Can't imagine what the passengers were feeling when they were trying to call their loved ones one last time. I feel very bad for all the families of the passengers/crew on the planes & at the Pentagon. Flight 93 will always be hero's in our lifetimes.
51:56 9/11 was an immense tragedy for so many. I also feel so bad for the Air Traffic Controller who had to communicate as calm as he could for other aircraft to maneuver around UA 175. He keeps his composure quite well in the last 10 min and focuses on his job to keep ALL other flights safe in the air. The Delta flight easily could have collided. He is a hero too, and probably wishes he could have done more (he couldn't) and he likely now suffers from PTSD.
@@matt8043 Christopher Tucker has a few interviews on UA-cam. A passenger from the delta flight contacted him to thank him for saving his life- it helped his trauma a bit.
I was just there this June 2022 and silently prayed at the memorial park where the towers stood. I fly to NYC and walk to the 9/11 site every year since 2001 to honor those who fell at the hands of evil. I will NEVER forget.
I'll never be able to wrap my head around the fact that some were leaving business trips, visiting family members etc ; they Didn't know what flight they were getting on that day. They already put so much trust in pilots 😩♥️. Rip to all!
Timeline above said both planes were hijacked. So the regulation pilots aren't the pilots who piloted the planes into the Towers. Which just occurred to me to. So the businessmen and family members were right to trust pilots. But again, the hijackers knocked out the real pilots and started flying the planes themselves. The plane crash in PA. I knew were hijackers.
Every year around these days I return to 911 footage. I just never want not only forget, but also don’t want to loss that feeling. Does anyone get me? I’m curious, the delta plane that he was communicating with, was that another passenger plane that helped air traffic control?
I understand. We don't wanna feel as if this hurt our country, but it's important to honor the lives lost. We can't just act like nothing ever happened, that would tarnish the names of everyone who gave their lives to help others.
Yes that was another airplane trying to help the tower control in identifying the hijacked airplane. I still believe the second attack could be avoided if the time difference between the two attacks was not that close. I’m from Morocco and I go back to 9/11 attacks every year to not forget the innocent lives that have perished in those cowardly executed murders.
I do the same, I feel like it’s a bit morbid at times, but I also feel it makes me feel a bit more alert in this chaotic world we live in. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and impacted on 9/11.
The one thing that I can't get out of my mind is, why were fighter jets not deployed after the first hit, and they knew another hijacked plane was nearby. I just don't get it. It would have been better that that plane be shot down then to have another hit in NYC somewhere.
Sadly, the passengers died instantly. Not sure if those passengers knew the Towers were the target, but I can't imagine the fear that was experienced by the passengers. Especially on the 2nd plane knowing the 1st hit the tower. Then I think about the people in both Towers that were above the impact and had no way down the stairs as rooms became hotter and filled with smoke. It had to be a horrible feeling being in that situation knowing that you are trapped and the only option from burning is jumping. I truly believe that many of the victims left their bodies spiritually, and never felt any pain.
It feels like gaslighting every time i hear media or politicians saying january 6th was the worst day in American history when so many not only in ny and not only in our country, but all over the world were in shock as 9/11 went down. To hear in real time that ppl were jumping and falling was traumatizing ..... there is no comparison and i pray to God there never is something worse than this day.
@@kc4208 The reason it feels like gaslighting is because it is! Everything that comes out of Democrats’ mouths is a LIE! They have totally flipped into Marxism. They must be thrown out on their collective asses in November. @@Us3r739 but slavery did not exist on the premise by which they claim january 6th did. They are claiming it was a destruction of "their democracy" (we are a republic anyway). Slavery didnt start in america as a means to end our sovereignty. We were not a nation, or a people until 1776 .... and it wasn't long after america became a nation that the unraveling of legal systematic slavery began. It in fact still exists in places like ghana .... I would say it is thanks to the birth of America that the slave trade (as it is told to us anyway) was ultimately condemned. And i dont know about you, but i didnt exist in those times. I dont have to go back that far for comparison .... 9/11 happened during my lifetime and comparing it to jan 6th and claiming jan 6th was even worst IS GASLIGHTING. @QS-si3cq Well, belief in something of a higher power has been here since the beginning of man kind. It will also be here long after our ass are dead. Thus, this makes all of us a speck of fly poop on sky daddy's window of time.
The most bizarre story connected to this flight is the mother onboard with her 4 year old daughter was the sister of a man in NYC just for the day for a meeting. He was supposed to have his meeting in midtown but it got moved that morning to the WTC Marriott. He survived unharmed but was administering aid to a badly burned woman when his sister’s plane impacted the south tower. He only found that out from family later on.
Equally bazaar? At 48 minutes in, Delta pilot asked about the smoke/fire spotted at WTC, in lower Manhattan, not knowing that his United colleague would soon find himself among the flames. Whew! Also uncanny, but wholly intentional is that though Delta is all over that audio feed, the terrorists specifically chose United and American planes for the deed. Air traffic controllers were aware of the incident in NYC, and hijacking was in progress, but had a delayed sense of awareness and action re: clearing the sky AND calling military help. They gave hijacked planes too much time to negotiate in the air while they "investigated."
I just watched that documentary this morning! I think people forget about the survivors of the Marriott and surrounding buildings, where firefighters bravely tried to evacuate people as well!
@@VisualDisplay07 Mohamad Atta chose these flights because they were to filled up with maximum fuel payload due to the cross country flight requirements.
@L K. Atta also chose the flight to be on a Tuesday early in the morning. He had been taking different flights to figure out when the plane would have the least amount of passengers so he and the other terrorists would have an easier time controlling them. These guys went through a tremendous amount of training to make this work out as well as it did. It still pisses me off that these guys were known to officials in the government but somehow we’re allowed to continuously book flights across the country after having trained to fly planes. Not only that- according to the flight school in florida these guys never wanted to train takeoffs and landing. I mean come on- how many red flags do you need to make sure this did not happen.
The pilots wouldn't need approval from ATC to avoid a mid air collision. They would just take evasive action. The approval from ATC was just a formality.
@@kevinmalone3210 Yeah, I know it just gave me goosebumps and sent a shiver down my spine. Absolutely terrifying words to hear from air traffic control as a pilot.
Cannot say enough for the Air Traffic Controllers who got thousands of flights on the ground at the nearest airport without the benefit of any schedule.
It’s crazy to watch this and put yourself in the place of the passengers. I’ve flown out of Logan on this departure dozens of times and whenever I’m on the right side of the plane, I always look down on Logan passing underneath after the turn back towards land. Really adds a new level of 😣

None of us need to personally know any of those lost that day. It's heartbreaking for all of us to know that 3,000 fellow HUMAN BEINGS were lost to an act of cowardly terrorism that day. May they all rest in peace.
The tragedy is that hundreds more have died and are dying still! They bravely worked at ‘The Pile, Ground Zero’ firstly looking for survivors. then working to clear the horrific site before them. Many have died from Cancers, many suffer with lung and breathing difficulty’s, some of which have proven terminal. That’s not to speak of their mental and emotional turmoil. These folk are true heroes too, in all the toxicity of plane fuel, Asbestos, building dust and the fires that burned for weeks. To all who served in this way THANK YOU.🙏🙏🙏🙏
I still can't believe it....to think this day was the last day before airports would change forever....no more walking with your loved ones up to the runway tunnel to see them off or to greet them coming back.
i know someone whose father was on that plane. i think of them everyday and the weeks around 9/11 make me so incredibly sad. i can’t even imagine how these weeks are for them. rip 💜
I totally agree, I know someone's father was on one of the planes that hit the towers. Been so long I can't remember but it was one bound for Los Angeles. Anyway he missed his flight on that Monday and found out there was a red eye onTuesday morning. Every year his family is invited back to NY for the 9/11 memorial. They stopped going years ago because it's like reliving it every year, they just want to heal....
vistalite 1972 wow that’s terrible. it hurts when you know someone who has been impacted and can see how it affects them daily. it truly is heartbreaking that we can’t do anything to help them and they have to be reminded every year. i didn’t know that they invite families to go to nyc for the anniversary but that must be so difficult
I watched this whole event play out on morning television and I remember every aspect of it as if it happened yesterday. I also watch every 9/11 related show or documentary each year on its anniversary. But as the plane in this simulation began its approach to NYC, my stomach began to ache and my heart rate increased as if I were watching it play out all over again. I can’t even begin to imagine what the poor souls on those planes had to endure emotionally in those final minutes. They had no choice but to simply accept what was about to happen.
I didn’t went back to see nothing from that day, it really traumatized me even if I was in another state. Now after 23 I’m binge watching every doc, series, and videos to really knew what happened.

Please don't get me wrong, but really the United States has always carried out self-attacks to justify its wars, or murdered the presidents who wanted peace.
As did I way back in 1985 on a senior field trip with my economics class. I was the one and only student who declined going up to the top of the 110th floor that day. My economics teacher, God love him, stayed on the ground with me. Heights freak me out which is why once I reached 6 feet tall I stopped growing.
My first trip to NYC was in 1999 on a bus from New Jersey. That was the first thing I saw coming down the road and it is burned into my brain. Never though they would be gone two years later.
So did I when I finally got to see them "in person". I felt I was standing on hallowed ground. I was visiting in late December of 1979 to celebrate New Year's Eve at Times Square, and I had a couple of days to sightsee. I got lots of 35mm pictures of them from the inside and out, and from the observation deck on Tower 2. I'm so glad I got so many pictures of the towers and the Sphere, and all the rest of the buildings and the area between them. They were indeed NYC icons. Now I will make another trip soon to see the Freedom Tower (WTC Tower 1), the two waterfalls, the museum, and the Survivor Tree. Maybe next summer. (Jan Griffiths).

The bastard deliberately hit lower than the 1st tower because he knew people were evacuating and starting to trickle down. Pure evil! I cannot imagine what those final moments were like for the passengers.
@@Iandabull - I don't think you could have missed the point more completely. You opined the hijacker pilots deliberately targeted a lower spot on the building to prevent some people from evacuation. IMHO the fairly inexperienced pilot, operating an aircraft type he had never flown before at its absolute limits and almost missed the building completely was lucky to have hit the South Tower anywhere. How high or how low he was on it is not likely to have been a priority at that moment.
Those poor people on that particular plane were throwing up because of the roughness of the plane. Also the anxiety would have made them feel sick. Must have been terrifying! RIP to all the victims that day.
i will never understand, how a pilot could hit such a narrow target directly out of a curve. In fact this is even for a pro impossible to do without help from outside, or with a programmed RC.
Before 9/11 when a plane was hijacked, they would always just demand the release of a prisoner and then land the plane. Still scary, but not nearly as scary as a post-9/11 hijack would be.
The pure panic in one of the guy's voices once the plane was hijacked is just.. so heartbreaking. He must've been so scared. He had no idea what the plane was doing and if he did, he had no control over it. He couldn't do anything.
@Daniel Johnston There's danger in life. I totally understand your feelings but you shouldn't let fear stop you from living life. You're far more likely to be killed in a car crash than have something like this happen, although that is not to minimize the absolute terror and fear of the people caught up in these attacks. Visiting New York was 4 of the best nights of my life and I already cannot wait to return some day soon!
Imagine the absolute horror of those people on the 2nd plane who seen Manhattan from the window, and seen the first Tower burning, and got closer and closer and closer until BOOM.
I don’t think the passengers were aware it was going to crash until the last seconds. They couldn’t see what the terrorists saw from the cockpit. It probably just seemed like the plane would land at a NY airport because that’s the same route, like a typical hijack. The plane dropped super fast according to ATC that were working that day. There was only a span of 15 minutes between the first plane and their plane hitting and basically no one had texting ability in the air 20 years ago. They couldn’t know their fate until the last seconds.

The word 'apart' means 'not a part of', or separate from. The words you want are...'I couldn't even imagine being A PART OF these live events'.
Thousands of people were in the air that day and by absolute chance they weren’t on this flight. I wonder how they felt when they landed and heard about it
My husband's boss missed this flight yet his wife did not realize that he had so she thought the worst. It took him a long time to get word to her as he was at the airport and was not told exactly what was happening. He hates talking about it which I don't blame him at all. So many people lost loved ones this day.
My neighbor was a flight attendant during the time of this attack. She was good friends with another of the flight attendants who was killed; they used to see one another at the shuttle bus shelter regularly. They had decided to trade shifts for that day. My neighbor still attends professional counseling sessions from time to time.
Going on 20 years and still so fresh in my memory. Anyone else start sobbing while watching this? Do we need another tragedy like this to bring our country together again? If so, that’s a tragedy in itself.
You make such a great point, I too wish we weren’t so divided.. I wish we could come together again as Americans. I don’t care if you own guns, I don’t care who you think our President is/should be, I don’t care what you do in your own homes. Let’s just all get along, be civil and be there for each other they way we were that day and the weeks following.
Like if 2 planes were hijacked and it happened in a different location (like one world trade center or reunion tower in Dallas) it would be a terrible tragedy but you have one of the most powerful points in the comments section I don’t care if we worry about Karen’s, guns, rude people, our president, we just need to come back together which will have a brighter side on us. Do we need another tragedy? Yes and no, because we don’t want 3,000 maybe even a higher capacity of deaths of our citizens and yes, because it would bring us together again but it would be terrible if it happened again. If I was on the plane and it was hijacked (2nd plane) I would livestream on Instagram or something and just send a “SOS” (save our souls) call and video to know that the plane has somehow, some way been taken over with ???? Guys with weapons. Let’s just pray that this will never happen♥️✝️🙏
The DemocRATS running this country into the ground are doing it for us. People won’t take this much longer. I suspect, therewill be a major uprising soon! Stock up on food, water, and ammunition while you still can!
I wonder if we would be as united as we were back then because of the division that we have now has never been like this in many decades… I am curious if the families of these terroist Think about this day on the anniversary
@@SandisCraftingCorner The office girls at the end of the hall cranked the radio up and one of the students asked what was that all about. I stuck my head out into the hallway and heard something about an airplane hitting a building. Thinking nothing more about it I continued until they all came running into the classroom to turn the TV on. Quite a day..........
It’s just mesmerizing to go back and think about how many people sacrificed themselves for others, how many were hurt, and the sadness of loved ones. September 11th is a day to not only forget. It is a day that will never again happen in American soil. As an American I not only think this is a very tragic event, but the thing that made it tragic was the amount of people who risked and fought for their well being as well as others 🇺🇸🌹❤️
@@publicservicesinhawaii429 We are talking about NYC here. They were trained professionals. They didn't go into the building knowing that it would collapse, and as a matter of fact, as soon as they realized the other tower had collapsed they did everything they could do to get the hell out. It speaks well of their professionalism that they helped as many as they could to go with them, but they were not planning to get killed that way. They were planning to their asses the fuck out of the building.
@@clarkingtonatortron You are dreaming. They knew their chances were slim, but they believed they had a chance. They took that chance. It didn't work out, but human instinct is to try and survive. You could try and make a case for the guys that dive onto grenades and such, but they only have a second or so and if they don't dive on the grenade the odds are they are dead anyways. And if they dive on the grenade, they won't have to live life as a maimed person with all kinds of medical issues. But they aren't sacrificing themselves. They are saving other lives knowing that theirs is over anyways. If they thought they had a chance, they would try and toss the grenade somewhere else, but they you are right back face to face with the possibility of being very badly maimed as a best case scenario.
I was 31 years old about that time now I'm in my 50s and every time I watch the footage of the airplanes struck the towers and it never ceases to amaze me what a tragic day..
I was helping to build a powerplant in Weymouth that morning. All the planes were coming right over me and turning west(just as this video shows) i remember thinking how lucky these people were... probably going to Hawaii.. while i was stuck at work. God help us through these dark days.. as our song goes. "God bless America, through the night with the light from above"
It kinda tugs at your heart strings when you watch an older movie and you see the twin towers in the background . I know The Wall Street movie opens with views of the Twin Towers
Absolutely. I revisited “Terms of Endearment” recently. I had totally forgotten about Debra Wingers monologue with the towers displayed behind her shrouded in fog. I indeed felt that.
The Song Remains the Same concert by Led Zeppelin was filmed at Madison Square Garden in 1973 and they have panorama's of the WTC buildings in the movie.
A whole segment of Trading Places with Eddie Murphy and Dan Ackroyd is filmed leading from street level to the plaza. Back in the day, too, there were the apocalyptic movies that i as a Canadian always chuckled at because “the ruins of the towers underwater” or similar was always in it. It was what made that day feel even more unreal/movie-like, to some degree.
This unfortunately is spot on. Though my neighbor and my second mother was on this flight (RIP Sharron Ware), so it's yet another horrific reminder of what really went on that morning. I understand this was made to be a more informative video for generations that came after, it still hurts alot to watch. Never ever forget who were lost that Tuesday morning on the 11th of September 2001. Also a RiP to my bro in laws father Patrick Hoey who worked for the city as a supportive engineer in the 46th floor on the north tower. RIP❤
I wish they would have declared 9/11 as a national holiday. Not as a means of "celebrating" but out of respect for those that lost lives and their families, like we do on Veterans Day. I think it's also important for our children to be aware of the importance of this day. Many of us watched in horror as it took place but it seems like the younger generation a are not particularly aware of the significance of this day and what it means to us as a nation
What you say makes perfect sense to me Ellybean, the trouble is it would end up being made into another "retail holiday". Memorial Day is supposed to be a day of remembrance for all those who died for our freedoms but now it's just "The unofficial start to SUMMER!!! YAY!"...which definitely ticks me off. Ticks me off even more when people set off fireworks on Memorial Day. Fireworks for Independence Day...fine, but NOT Memorial Day!
Isn't it called patriot day? Maybe I am wrong. I agree it should be a national day of reflection... of remembering that we are all in this together... no matter what happens. Thats what I think of when I remember that day. All Americans, in unity, responded. We are stronger together. Fear shall not shake us. We will persevere through adversity with our heads held high, shoulder to shoulder with our brothers and sisters.
I've grown up hearing a lot of air traffic near where I live ........ one of the things I remember most vividly that day was when they grounded all the aircraft in the country - it was so eerily quiet ......... And the thing you don't really hear people talk about that much is that on that day - we really didn't know if there were only 4 hijackings - it was like - ok what's going to happen next? .......
@Cian MacGana Ok - should I be more specific then? I haven't heard a lot of people talk about that particular thing over the years ........... are you satisfied now?
It was the same in Canada, downtown Toronto was shut down by 11 am, tall buildings evacuated. Flights diverted from USA to Canada. All air travel stopped for @ a week if I remember correctly. Such a sadness was felt everywhere.
I was working in Elk Grove Village IL which is near O'Hare Airport, and I have to agree how eerie it was when they grounded all the planes. The mass confusion of trying to figure out exactly what was happening, and when and by whom, was quite a mess for our people to deal with. I can only hope that something like this never happens again.
53:14 There’s a very significant moment here missed by most people but one of the aircraft actually reports that he got a TCAS RA (Resolution Advisory) against United 175. We already know that he got close to the Delta 767 but for TCAS to generate an RA on the second means there was a very significant risk of collision. If United 175 had had a midair on the way to New York it would be the most perverse sense of poetic justice ever. Not only that but it would have changed the outcome of the day significantly. The South Tower would never have been hit, potentially saving more lives but compromising lives in the North Tower as there wouldn’t have been the advance warning that the tower would eventually collapse. Amazing really how different things could have turned out.
problem is if wtc 2 wasnt hit people would have been trapped for days and when wtc 1 fell it would have gotten major damage whcih could have made it fall either way if UA175 hit the delta flight alot of lives could have been saved most people didnt even know wtc 2 fell while in inside wouldnt have made a diffarent
Yep, and it would have been great if the terrorists had been blowjobs instead of being born. But then again, it doesn't matter, if it hadn't been them, it would have been another group.
I’ll never forget that day. I’d just done my first morning at college and that afternoon, I was doing my 2-6 shift in a shop. I’m in England and it was a beautiful day here as well. About 2:30, a customer rushed into the shop and said ‘there are planes being flown into buildings all over the place’! ‘They’ve flown into the Twin Towers’. It scared the living daylights out of us wondering if they were coming over here to do the same. Bloody awful day. 😢 God bless all those innocents who died that day.
The people on this plane that had to go thru this are hopefully in heaven now. My God how awful their final moments must have been. Their family and friends need prayer, even today.
This is the heaven inhabited by the god that can find your car keys but not stop this highjacking ? An immoral god. It's quite comforting to know that there is no evidence for any gods, considering what a moral compass they must have.
@@AsFewFalseThingsAsPossible Bullshit. There's evidence of God everywhere. God never promised his believers a rose garden here on earth. Christians can face the same problems as non-Christians on earth. I don't know why some prayers are answered and some are not. But eternal salvation comes after we die. At the end of 9/11, it was feared at least 10,000 people died in the collapse. And 200,000 people worked in the WTC complex daily. The fact that the number of deaths was 3,000 may have been a miracle in itself.

My Dads birthday is september 11th and it took years for his birthday to feel "normal" again and still in the back of my mind lingers that feeling of how can we celebrate my dads birthday because nothing even matters or compares to what the family members of the fallen and everyone who was affected by this event is going through.

I can’t imagine what the passengers on those flights felt that day. except for United 93 crew and passengers, no one knew where they were going after they had been hijacked…then the plane descends and you’re headed straight towards the Twin Towers…what a way to go
Might sound odd, but if you were to be on any plane, 93 at least got the opportunity to fight back and occupy their minds and were busy with a plan. The other people were just clueless as to what was going on,
@@chloenkitty Not true, the planes that hit the twin towers had to descend from their cruising altitude, they descended at a rapid rate to line up on the towers before they hit. Passengers knew it was real bad and they were headed towards certain death. A flight attendant was having a conversation on the phone with someone before the first plane hit and she was screaming oh God, Oh God. Other passengers had to know too. One man who was a passenger was taking to his Father before the plane he was of the hit the Pentagon. He knew he wasn't going to get out of his situation alive. There were other stories too.
@@kevinmalone3210 But your reply has absolutely nothing to do with me saying that flight 93 at least got to occupy their minds by trying to do something to prevent the plane from going into a building, the others did not. I would think if I was going to die I would want my mind occupied by trying to prevent some thing even though I knew I was going to die
@@chloenkitty Prior to 9/11 most passengers on a hijacked plane would've thought they'd be held for ransom or at least until the hijackers' demands were met then released; suicide mission was unfathomable prior to 9/11. Before 9/11 I remember being told if you're on a hijacked plane just comply with the hijackers; after 9/11 I was told do whatever you have to do to survive.
I remember that day with way to much detail as everyone else does I am sure. The pit of my stomach still twists when I see these things almost 20 years later.
Can you imagine being a passenger on that flight and seeing the NY skyline and knowing something was terribly, terribly wrong, but not knowing how it was going to end?
@@aliciacleeland2257 You're referring to Betty Ong, who was able to maintain phone contact for much of the hijacking. She did see they were flying very low, but I'm not sure she was still in contact by the time she saw the tower rushing at them.
@@aliciacleeland2257 You may be interested to know that in 2011, a recreational center in San Francisco where Betty played as a child was renamed in her honor. Her body, after being recovered in March of 2002, was also buried in SF, which was her hometown.
I worked for Comair when this happened. A regional airline. I watched all this unfold from their dispatch center. When the FAA did the ground stop after figuring out what was going on, the dispatchers were going nuts trying to get the planes down as fast as possible.
A lot of air traffic controllers showed how they just couldn't comprehend the actual situation, 32:47 the guy after hearing a request for military Jets to be scrambled and follow the jet replies :"oh and they are on the ground in Albany ?". This demonstrates how utterly complacent and dulled the daily routine of "non events" had made them. Any dialogue outside of what they repeated day in day out was unfathomable.
To be fair, there hadn't even been a hijacking in over a decade, and the idea of purposefully crashing passenger planes into buildings wasn't exactly mainstream. People back then assumed the hijackers wanted to stay alive and present their demands to the authorities.
The people in the 1st plane, DIDN’T know what was coming. The 2nd DID, & The 3rd FOUGHT BACK😣. Imagine being on a hijacked airplane. You get in contact with your loved ones, & find out that a plane has just hit the twin towers. The people in flight 175, flight 77, flight 93, knew they were dead. I was 13 when this happened. I still cry every time I see anything 9/11 related. My favorite teacher from 7th grade, was in the second plane that hit the south tower, flight 175. It broke my heart, when I found out. I try not to think on his torment, in the last couple of minutes of his life. This day left a scar on everyone who lived it, that scar will never heal.
The passengers on the first three planes did not know what was coming. The second tower was hit about 14 minutes after the first and the pentagon around 20 minutes later. Keep in mind there was no mobile internet then, so no one on board had any idea. It was only because the fourth was nearly an hour late, that they found out when they called their loved ones, who told them. Otherwise, they would not have known either. Keep in mind the hijackers began planning this in 1995 when mobile communications were in their infancy so back then no one, except the pilots would know what was going on. So their plans did not take into account mobile phones. That is why they allowed the passengers on United 93 to use them since they were never trained not to allow them.
My Friend Alicia was a flight attendant on 175. You were such an angel we miss you everyday.

Same here! I can tell you where I was every second of that day.

Smh

The hijackers killed passengers on the flights, the attendants, the captains of the planes; Just so they could have the edge over not be stopped at what they were doing. He keeps his composure quite well in the last 10 min and focuses on his job to keep ALL other flights safe in the air. The Delta flight easily could have collided.

Timeline above said both planes were hijacked. So the regulation pilots aren't the pilots who piloted the planes into the Towers. Which just occurred to me to. So the businessmen and family members were right to trust pilots. But again, the hijackers knocked out the real pilots and started flying the planes themselves.

It's crazy that it was 19 years ago! Seems like just yesterday :( may we never forget!
@Kamar Hussain Bush wasn't at fault. He was in a classroom full of kids when he got the news that American 11 hit the north tower.
@@tigergreg8 yeah a little weird
Sadly, the passengers died instantly. Not sure if those passengers knew the Towers were the target, but I can't imagine the fear that was experienced by the passengers. Especially on the 2nd plane knowing the 1st hit the tower. Then I think about the people in both Towers that were above the impact and had no way down the stairs as rooms became hotter and filled with smoke. It had to be a horrible feeling being in that situation knowing that you are trapped and the only option from burning is jumping. I truly believe that many of the victims left their bodies spiritually, and never felt any pain.

You had a tragedy like that. 400k unnecessary dead.

I don’t agree, I think in a way it would give glory to those scumbags that did this.
@@tdotjazzberryram61 Yep - I remember that. Can hardly believe it's been 20 years ..........
@Cian MacGana Actually - I was thinking the same about you ........
Amazing really how different things could have turned out.
problem is if wtc 2 wasnt hit people would have been trapped for days and when wtc 1 fell it would have gotten major damage whcih could have made it fall either way if UA175 hit the delta flight alot of lives could have been saved most people didnt even know wtc 2 fell while in inside wouldnt have made a diffarent
in todays context you are right but on that day , It was bound to happen

Brovo to all involved with landing these planes, what a terrifying feat.

Their we're Children on Flight 175 and Flight 77 going out with their family until terrorists took control the plane and Crash it.
Did they knew their we're Arabic.
