I love the enthusiasm. I tried contacting some of the pubs in Nottingham asking about their cellars. I would not be surprised if a gaulish tunnel network is one day discovered.
I have been thinking of making a video about this very thing. Did you have any luck with the pubs? I'm sure there were tunnels that linked the castle grounds with Wollaton Hall but they are probably all either sealed or destroyed, very interesting though!
@@chillintheuk No, radio silence unfortunately... Almost like they're hiding something? Haha! The three pubs worth investigating are The Pilgrim Inn AKA Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem, Ye House by ye Sign of Salutation AKA Ye Olde Salutation Inn, and of course the Bell Inn. I'd be very interested to see a video exploring their cellars. Unfortunately I live more than 10500 miles from Nottingham.
I live down in Ruddington and have a 17th century tunnel under my house. I mentioned this to a local and she told me that according to legend there are 5 more of them but nobody can remember where. Pro rata, there must be about a thousand under Nottingham.
I love that there are people who care enough about where they're from to do the work of maintaining it for future generations.

Fantastic, Chris, I have shared your new vid around the groups, so look forward to lots more views coming up! 😀
Garners hill was a real hidden gem in Notts
100% I want to do a video speaking to people who remember it at various times but they are hard to find 🤔

Wow that is fascinating. I would love to do a video on tunnels under private houses. If you want to be featured let me know 🙌
I reckon there are many more caves in Nottingham we don't know about.
it infuriates me that lots of nottingham places and buildings are no more!....god luck with long stairs 😉
Due to successive useless councils.
