It's Snap On Thursday and Kevin is back for another video. This week we take a look at a socket demo that Snap On has made to show case the thin wall design and the shallow socket broaching. We also take a look at the 1/4" drive service kit with the removable foam insert. Come take a look around on the Snap On truck with me!

I dont have a shop..... I too called snap on and they told me the SAME thing..... meanwhile I jumped on a truck that was near my house.... and my snap on man and I are now great friends.....
I'm not even a mechanic/auto tech - I'm an IT guy that works from home. My local Snap-On guy pulls up to my house, and will give me truck credit if needed.
Dang that is a very nice Snap-on Truck & dealer. He is working hard and it shows.
Another great video. People complain about Snap On prices. One thing only a rich man can afford cheap tools.
Man Kevin has that truck loaded! Those little wrenches are something I’m definitely interested in. Normally I’m a MAC guy when it comes to wrenches but them double box wrenches would serve me real well! Also, great video Mr Clay and Mr Kevin!
I don’t have a shop, but I met up with the Snappy Rep at a shop near my house to buy the two-piece radiator hose pick set you showcased a couple of years ago. I like the blunted ends compared to the pointy ends pert near every other company sells. I chased the local Matco truck to another shop one morning and the local Mac Tools truck to a Chevrolet dealer service department one afternoon. None of those Fellers were shy about taking my cash.
Thanks for another great videos clay kevin sound like a great dealer taking care of everyone
Good time on the snap on truck
Wow Snap On aced a test they created
back in the 80's i helped out at a snowmobile dealer setting up sleds. to put bumpers on sleds i had to grind down sockets to fit. that all changed when my tools were stolen. snapon ever since no more craftsman or s-k snapon is the best
Another great episode!!!
Best day of the week Snap on Thursday and no truck today 😭
The pink stuff sold quick on my dealers truck. There were those ratchets this week. I can check next week if you really want them but I am in ohio.
On that socket demo there’s is sockets that will do what the Snap-On will do, the Koken socket will do that.
I’m a pencil pusher that works
From home and one day just jumped on Snap-On truck as I was on my daily walk. I bought a ratchet and the dealer offered to open a credit account for me.
I can’t believe Snap-On can’t/won’t get your area any pink tools! My dealer came by on a Tuesday a few weeks ago fully stocked with pink. I snagged the ratchet set, mini pliers, and the blanket. Hopefully Kevin can hook you up!
man the blurring out and in is super cool ?
YOU CAN'T GET THAT AT HARBOR FREIGHT 😂😂😂
Every dealer should have a pink tool kit allocated to them
Clay my old snap on guy would sent me a text says he be at the shop in 15 min because he wanted to hear about new tools I have seen on your videos and others and he parked his truck in empty lot in front of shop and had people stop and ask if they could buy or get info and he was like hell yes. New guy not so much. 🔧🔧🔧🔧
I stopped a snap on guy this morning at the stoplight, it was a very wallet depleting stop for me.
Always is! Haha
My dealer in east Central Mississippi has the pink stuff he got the set of 3/8 ratchets
My Snappy guy always has non-shop people knocking on the door.
Ah the torque multiplier. I have priced the x 4s years ago. WOW let me tell you.....
I talked to a Snappy truck guy at a gas station and he had zero interest in selling me anything. Said my area wasn't his area. He didn't even want to talk to me. Oh well.
Crazy to turn down money but oh well it’s his business.
That’s a whole different ballgame. They are not allowed to sell out of their area. What he should have been able to do is give you the contract information for your local Snap On dealer so you could meet up with him.
Where you on his truck to talk or to buy? Nothing more annoying then when your running busy and some random just wants to window shop.
Tell us a good night's 3/8 drive set there
I’m a ups delivery driver. I catch my snap on dealer Brad at one the local dealer ships weekly .
That is bull. I don’t have a shop and get snap on.
I wish they'd make a service set that was 3/8 and 1/4 combined in metric *ONLY*. I haven't needed a fractional socket or wrench in 20 years.
Maybe build it.? They used to.
... The SO socket has shallower 'broaching'... A bolster is typically on a screwdriver:)
There are some buying the CAT tools which are made by Snap On due to price of them. Look exactly the same but with CAT and the CAT part number on them.Snap On has been ridicules on their prices, a friend of my dad's was quoted $600.00 for a set of sockets and he is looking into the CAT tools sold at Caterpillar dealers now
Possible warranty issues
Pretty soon they are going to start jacking up the prices on those cat sockets with all the people buying them!
@@spacecat7247never had an issue with CAT warranties.
If he can get a complete master socket set for $600 he better buy it cause I paid $600 for a 214 piece master set from tekton.
@@eliezerramosjr1017 good deal. Pray it stays the same
The difference between professional and semi-pro.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
That's 100% percent true in my area snap on and matco will not sell to anyone that doesn't work at a shop. You can have cash cards don't matter luckily I have a friend that's a matco dealer so he sells to me and gives me credit and I work out of my house
Well, I know for a fact, people have pulled up and purchased off the tool truck when I was on it and paid cash with no issues so it has to be the dealers choice which is absolutely ridiculous if your job is to sell tools
I’m a road tech and have stopped plenty of times to random snap on dealers to buy stuff. Money is green and they’ll take it.
Odd. Never had any problem....since 87
I met my Snapon , Cornwell and Mac dealer like that and just by flashing down and now we have a good relationship (especially Cornwell) especially with the 💵 I drop weekly and the amount that I buy.
@@KoonTrucking Absolutely! These dealers that wont sell to non-shop people are just freaking stupid. I was talking to my Snap-On guy one day about trying to hurry and and let him go make money, and his younger brother who is his helper made a comment under his breath that sounded like I was their best customer, so they were in no hurry to leave, lol. So, these other dealers could seriously be missing out. There's people out there who like to have quality tools and refuse to stock their tool boxes with HF or other chinesium garbage. They are, potentially, leave a LOT of money on the table.
So, UA-cam must know what they're doing because they just presented to me a video about the Pow'Rench by Power Hawk Technologies... and guess what? IT'S THE EXACT SAME Torque Multiplier shown in the beginning of this video! 😂
That’s a Manual impact wrench not a torque multiplier
What would you use that multiplier for?
typically tightening a fastener on a large industrial equipment.
@@mikekotarba5828 I should have been more specific in what kind of equipment would need that kind of torque.
That demo is a joke for the most part. How often would that SLIGHT difference in diameter going to make a difference. Several of their comparable demos have backfired on them especially the one with the plastic nuts!
That’s true
Every body knows the Snap on difference we just dont think its worth it.
How much was that 1/4 inch socket set
Pricey. Look it up
I tried the pb200b was not listed on the snap on website
Thats the case number its called general service set @peteh4312
@@peteh4312if you buy the one in the red case it’s 1,130 dollars from snap on, now you added foam add a couple dollars.
1,130 for the standard with no foam. Add a few bucks.
What is wrong with Kevin's eyes Clay?
Did you not watch the first min of the video?
No not really
You can only buy CAT if you work for CAT .
I’m not so sure about that. I know a guy that bought a bunch of cat tools from a dealership and he doesn’t even have a shop.
No true. There's tons of dealers. You can walk into a dealer and buy whatever you want.
@puterg0d As a lot of people are finding out, some Cat dealers don't like dealing with the general public and won't sell them any tools if they don't buy parts from them regularly.
That’s a lie. I always call snap on in what ever city I’m in and they will find my local guy and ask if they have the tool I need
So cal
I know my old guy would get hounded at a store and sell the crap out of some stuff to people.
I think you’re getting to the stage of knowing more than the dealer. Not very interested in your opinion of tools on the truck. You used to show everything that was new and exciting. I’ll keep watching because the trucks down south seem to get tools quicker than up here.
There’s not always new tools on the truck every week. It’s almost impossible for a tool company to release 52 new tools a year, think about that.
@@KoonTrucking have you seen the cloud 9 on the truck? What about all the offers to buy different tool setups in the new configuration. Your doing a great job showing everything but I think your missing the mark on the guys that buy tools every (Friday) off the truck. I know the VIM/Milwaukee/Sun/ are great but I don’t see those guys selling them. I don’t think you do either except Joe. I’m a snap-on, Mac guy and own the best please don’t ask to borrow kind of guy. Old snap-on sticker haha
Dude, stay in the aisle of the truck, show off your tools, and stop running back behind your desk.
There's this one Snap On guy in town and is a clown. He only services Auto shops with white people. I used to work at a dealership near by and bought Snap On tools before from another guy but this guy boy I tell ya I ordered a 5 piece set to replace my broken socket/ratchet/wrench holder and I payed him up front cash got the receipt and was told I would get it within a week. It's been a month. He never once tried to call me to keep in touch with me just to let me know its taking a bit longer than usual. I saw him before at a shop so I went to him but he was busy talking with a customer i stood there waiting to talk to him once he was done he would try to shine me off wouldn't let me come inside his truck. So I got his business card. Now that I've met him and spend my hard earned money on him by buying from him he's been an a**hole ignoring my calls hanging up on me pretending he couldn't hear me. I text him. So what am I supposed to do now that he's trying to keep my money that I gave him to buy that piece set I need? Maybe me being Hispanic has something to do with it
