    I always thought the Dragon Realms and Forgotten Realms were on the same planet. The tunnels Bianca and the Rhynocs used to steal the eggs were the key, like the whole dig a tunnel to China thing cartoons used to do. My guess is that the Forgotten Realms are on the east side of the planet (due to many cultures and lands being based on our real world eastern cultures and countries) while the Dragons were banished to the uninhabited west side of the planet. Faeries appear to exist in their own Fairy Realm outside of reality for the most part, with a few migrating to other places in the mortal plane like the Dragon Realms/Forgotten Realms and Avalar. In fact Faeries and Dragons are almost symbiotic in their relationship, Dragons protect them from threats and they in turn bring the eggs safely to the males during the Year of the Dragon every 12 years. It must be genetic as even Zoe, who never met a Dragon until Spyro showed up in Avalar, hid behind Spyro for protection after she got rid of Ripto's scepter.
    Avalar seems to be a different planet entirely considering there are no Dragons and magic still exists. Especially since the super portal was able to bring Ripto from his world to Avalar and they needed Glimmer to help their makeshift portal bring a dragon to Avalar. Since Dragons are naturally attuned to gems, it makes sense Glimmer and it's over abundance of gems was chosen as the location. This also shows portals use another dimension (probably the same one as the Fairy Realm) to connect to each location, since they were able to hijack the connection of another planet entirely. Magic also exists without the existence of Dragons in Avalar, showing it's a natural force in the universe and Dragons are only unique in being creatures able to naturally generate it from their bodies. Other beings have to use wands/scepters to manipulate magic, while Dragons are able to do it with just their limbs. Unless they are artificially made by magic like the enemies in Spyro 1 and 3.

    You overlooked a line in Spyro 3 that absolutely confirms it and 1 are on the same planet:
    Zoe: The holes popped out on the other side of the world.
    Spyro: Other side of the world?
    Elder Dragon: The Forgotton Worlds.
    So yeah, they absolutely are part of the same planet, and they also often interchange "Worlds" and "Realms". As for Spyro 2, it's not as clear that this is a different universe, but the signs do point in that direction.

    • @VtnVivi
      @VtnVivi  4 роки тому

      You're right! However, are these holes literally just holes? Or are they magical vortex hidden in those holes?

    As a kid, I never thought about different dimensions, & that each game takes place in a different world while the portals in each game is a different location on that world. When I see dragon shores in 2 I think the reason why it isn’t raining there is because it in it takes place in the different side of the planet. Avalar is a different world where dragons didn’t exist & Forgotten Realms is a world where once dragons used to lived but was banished into the 1st game where it’s a world inhabited by Gnorcs.

    • @heartless2147
      @heartless2147 4 роки тому

      I normally would go with the Forgotten Realms being another world, but the tunnels Bianca and the Rhynocs use to get to the Dragon Realms imply it's on the same planet. As for the Gnorcs, I always saw them as artificial lifeforms made from gems. In the 1st game, the reporter says how Gnasty figured out how to make soldiers out of gems. My guess, since the Dragons banished him earlier in time, is that he was made by the Magic Crafters using the same spell he uses to make his army. But he went out of control and was banished instead of destroyed. But he took a scepter and spellbook before he left. All the enemies we fight in Spyro 1 are artificially made from gems, that's why they drop them when they die.

    There are a few question I’ve been having for starters Hunter mentions The professor having multiple books on Dragons so there had to have been dragons at one point in Avalar but one other thing that interests me is what exact species is Spyro. Now the Dragons may all look different and be of different factions but some of them look familiar for instance Tomas and one of the beast makers both look like the same species Spyro stands out from all the dragons he’s able to have the abilities of all the other dragons combined, he’s the only child until Spyro 3, he can harness elemental abilities, but I think the most important aspect is a certain story detail that was used in the production bible character bios on the original Spyro website back in 98 and also mentioned in both Japanese guides , this is a detail that was later thrown out thanks to enter the dragonfly but Spyro and Sparx are both supposed to be orphans so where did they come from

      Plus there is some form of magic in Avalar, wouldn't be surprised if Spyro wasn't the first dragon to visit that place.

    The Spyro world is just a big messed puzzle full of marvels and mysteries.
    Ha, that sounded like something from a documental.
    Indeed is confusing the use of realms, worlds and lands when there's a lot of places to go.
    From what we've seen, the home world is the main world, when the levels inside are lands.
    And an amount of homeworlds are considered a realms.
    And here, with Avalar and The Forgotten Realms seems to be similar although with another patron.
    Maybe someday we can get a whole geographic explanation?
    Great video!
    I really love content about almost unexplained and mysterious things, and here it was very interesting!

    I‘m actually pretty confident, that the Ps1 version of spyro 3 explicitly told us in some dialogue, that the forgotten realms are on the other side of the world. (This could be due to the german synchro I played back then)
    But it makes some kind of catroonish sense to reach the opposite side of the planet if you just dig straight down long enough.
    Avalar could be a different planet. But why should dragons have to inhabit every part of the world? Also Ripto knows dragons, even by their smell. He probably existed in the same Planet/Area like them at some time.
    For me The Dragon Realms and forgotten realms are Continents on opposite sides of the same planet. The Levels and Homeworlds are geographically connected to each other, but Portals are used for Fasttravel.
    Avalar could be another Continent on the same Planet (I prefer this assumption because it is much easier and more likely than different dimensions) The Super-portal uses Coordinates and Coordinates describe a location on a planet, not a dimension or something like that.
    What do you guys think?

    • @ShadwSonic
      @ShadwSonic 4 роки тому

      That explicit confirmation was in the English version too.

    • @heartless2147
      @heartless2147 4 роки тому

      Avalar could be another planet, coordinates don't only mean a location on a planet you know. Look at all the scfi stuff that have coordinates for different sectors of the universe. Even in Agent 9's lab the Professor has an observatory and a diagram of a solar system with three planets and a sun. If Avalar was on the same planet as the Dragon Realms and Forgotten Realms it wouldn't have magic, as shown in Spyro 3 with the Forgotten Realms losing magic over time after the Dragons were banished. By that logic, Avalar wouldn't have magic since they had no Dragons at all. It would have to be another planet with different rules then the one we're familiar with. On their planet, magic is natural and within everything where on Spyro's world it's generated by Dragons.

    • @VtnVivi
      @VtnVivi  4 роки тому

      If this is the case, just how big their ''planet''? And why hasn't any dragon discovered it yet until Spyro? Was it due to poor stamina? And you're right about that line that Zoe says.

    • @VtnVivi
      @VtnVivi  4 роки тому +1

      Can we just say part of their ''planet'' loses magic because dragons no longer inhabit it? In Avalar, the fairies and the guide book seem to hint at some form of magic even without dragons.

    • @heartless2147
      @heartless2147 4 роки тому

      @@VtnVivi Perhaps the Forgotten Realms was losing magic because the Sorceress was funneling all of it into Midnight Mountain over the course of 1000 years. It would explain why the other homeworlds have clean water and Midnight Mountain has purple ooze. It's not like anyone could stop her with her army of Rhynocs, only recently have there been rebellion attempts and they were shut down quick until Spyro showed up.

    the difference between the definitions of the word "world" and the word "realm" is interesting. In some ways there are similarities but from what I've read a realm tends to be more similar to a kingdom and usually refers more to a region whilst a world can be an entire universe. It's possible that there's also some differences between the American English and the British English definition which kind of puts a spanner in the works (I'm good at reading words but not always as good at processing what they mean, which makes reading the definitions a pain for me, so take my consensus with a grain of salt).

    3. What about the M.A.P. from skylanders imaginators? Does that seem similar to this topic?
    4. How did the game companies that made the two series of the spyro crash crossover?

    I always just imagined them all being on one giant planet. With the Dragons never finding Avalar because they just have little to no intention of expanding the Kingdom's boarders or just haven't come across it yet, but could still theoretically fly there if they knew where it was (doing so also leaves room for other lands and worlds to pop up in future games without needing to resort to dimension travel).
    For the forgotten realms, I imagined that when the Sorceress banished the dragons, she also did something that can prevent them from returning (wouldn't be a very good banishing spell if she didn't after all), forcing the dragons to make a new home and ultimately forget about the old one (hence there name)... with whatever spell she used to keep them out loosing effectiveness one the magic was drying up, allowing Spyro to slip in when he needed to.
    Beyond that.. everything else you brought up was effectively what I imagined was going on. Though I doubt the different Dragon "worlds" are too vast in distance from each other... as those balloons don't look like they have any room for snacks or anything, and then only seem big enough for a little dragon, implying to me that an older dragon could fly from one world to another on there own in a decent amount of time without needing to stop for something like a meal break.

    Your guess would be as good as mine.
    I wouldn't exclude the possibility of Avalar existing in the same dimension of the dragon realm, except the creatures of Avalar have to rely on portals because, even if Dragons can theoretically fly over there, their kingdom is just way too far away, not to mention Dragons and Avalar people might not even have known about each other's kingdoms until the story of Ripto's rage, therefore, without portals, Dragons would probably not even bother traveling so much and inhabitants from Avalar wouldn't have many ways to reach them (or the courage; Hunter said it was not a good idea to summon a dragon, until he met Spyro)

    Love these videos. Now that I'm thinking about it-what I think is that the Dragon realms in S1 aren't insanely far but like you said far enough like a country's size, and so portals make for doorways to dragons' residence. S2's Avalar could be of the same planet (or not), maybe it's like another country and the residents of which barely and or rarely mix (Ripto knows of dragons at least, his experience of them was likely through similar portal magic/technology). S3's forgotten realms could literally be an underground system of similar vast places (more realms) or even ultimately like half a world as in on the inside of a hollow planet. What's weird is that although nothing alludes to other planets about Spyro games or even space itself about from the Astro farm place - The DLC skin for Spyro in ctr was a spacesuit one, which is just weird lol, he's never needed one for any of all the different realms he's been (though notably do think it's just a visor though, not an actual oxygenated spacesuit) including underwater. I'm open to there being a magic underground portal to the S3 place too.

    Maybe the dragons don't want to deal with the sorceress and get paneshed again . I think in the lands in Spyro 1 are one big island , and the portel makes fast travel to a different part of the same island . For the balloon it takes you a complete different island . Spyro 2 maybe a different plant like you said . As for Spyro 3 my theory that they can't go normally like just simply walk or fly gos of maybe a magic barior or something so going underground is better , that just my opinion .

    Neat video, it all fits the only thing I would add is that the dragons could fly to the "Forgotten Lands" but the problem lies in the name forgotten, they simply don't know where that is either due to time or the sorcerers abruptly teleporting them to unknown regions.
    It's nowhere said that the dragons have fully explored their planet, we only ever visit the land they inhabit.

    Mystical world with mythical creatures, I think every world is connected, it's like you have a country next to another country and inside them are the cities in the inner section within it, that's basically how it works I think, portals are the different cities inside the homeworld.

  • @Crow_Rising
    @Crow_Rising 4 роки тому

    Here's the way I see it:
    The areas in Spyro 1 can all basically be considered to be one big Dragon Nation, with each world counting as a "state" or "tribe" within the nation. All of the dragons are part of one big alliance, but there is still a clear culture gap between different locations within the dragon alliance. I would say this nation all exists within the general area of one really big island. I feel the reason the dragons don't tend to leave the boundaries of this island is probably because there's a vast ocean surrounding it, and they don't have infinite stamina to fly across it. That aside, they have become self-sufficient on this island, and have existed here for generations. They have no need to venture out and explore for resources, and lack the human element of curiosity to find out what the rest of the planet holds in store for them.
    In Spyro 2, the Professor's superportal is used to transport Spyro to Avalar. I believe Avalar takes place on an island or continent really far away from where the dragons are. There is no dragon magic here, but magic is a natural part of the planet in general with Dragon's only being one source of it, perhaps even the most powerful source of it. The Professor's science is likely a hybrid between science and magic, making use of magic artifacts in the creation of technological devices. In this regard, the orbs likely are magical, but require the Professor's know how to use them to activate portals. The coordinates referred to by the Professor are likely referring to a system of coordinates for tracking locations across the entire planet. In this case, "22475", in addition to being Hunter's birthday, likely cooresponds to a part of the planet where dragons exist, as it's where Ripto came from. This could be Spyro's island, or it could be an entirely different part of the planet in which dragons live unrelated to the ones from Spyro 1.
    The Forgotten Realms likely get their name as a result of the passage of time since dragons lived there. It's been so long since the dragons were there and have even felt the need to return, these realms have been long forgotten to them, only just recently returning to their memory. Some dragons are more ancient than others, and some of them that are alive now were alive back then, so as for them to not be entirely forgotten but still at best a foggy memory. The fact Spyro and Hunter were able to get here via tunnels in the earth means it's not entirely on the other side of the planet, but at the same time the relevance to Spyro and Hunter being the only ones small enough to fit through the holes means that the distances are still significant, as if the dragons could merely just fly there, they would not need Spyro and Hunter to use the holes to begin with.
    One thing I do want to point out is female dragons and other dragons Spyro's age. The dragon eggs in Spyro 3 must have come from somewhere, and Spyro himself is clearly only a kid or teenager by dragon standards. Considering their long lifespans, Spyro could still easily be as old as any human adult and still only be a child by dragon standards. That aside, considering all the eggs in Spyro 3 hatched around the same time, it's probably safe to assume that each generation of dragons is the same way, with all dragons of a particular age having been born only a short time apart from each other. With this being the case, where are the female dragons who laid the eggs, and where are the rest of Spyro's generation? Why is he the only one of his age in his entire nation? The female dragons are clearly still alive and have access to Spyro's nation since they were able to lay the eggs from Spyro 3. Could it be there's a nearby nation of all female dragons which partakes in an occasional short lived migration to Spyro's nation? Did Spyro remain by choice? Could it even be that all the other dragons of his generation were female, and so left to join the other females leaving him all alone?

    I'm of the persuasion that all three games take place on the same planet with Avalar still having some magic simply because its closer to the Dragon Realms. I'd say the way I understood this is roughly the same as you.
    The 5 Homeworlds from Spyro 1 being the Dragon Realm + the 4 Homeworlds from Spyro 3 being the Forgotten Realm = 1 planet a.k.a. The World of Dragons with the 2 Realms probably being on opposing hemispheres.
    The 3 Homeworlds from Spyro 2 make up the World of Avalar (or at least a part of it for now with more to be revealed in a future game maybe) which is another planet.
    So pretty much the Dragon World & Avalar are planets in the same galaxy!

    I always thought that the action of each part of the game takes place on its own planet, that are may rotate around the same star. And I actually paid attention on a skyboxes of realms. The way I always saw it:
    The dragon realm is a big continent with islands around it, each of the "worlds" in it is more of a country, they just make more of a distinction because each is inhabited by a different kind of dragon family. The distances are simply too great to just warp or fly from place to place so they are connected by the balloonists. Shorter distances within each country can be reached by the portals (this would suggest dragon shores is somewhere near the Artisans world). Gnasties world is simply a larger island far away from the coasts of the dragon worlds.
    The other areas like Avalar or the forgotten worlds are simply other continents but yet again those are so far out that flying to them, even with help of the balloonists, is just too far to be feasible. Ripto could actually live somewhere in the dragon realm or close to it so he is familiar with them but was never a big enough threat to warrant worry. And the forgotten worlds are said to be on the other side of the world so it's literally half the planet away... how they got there via a hole in the ground, cartoon logic :P

    I know I kinda just thought of the world as existing in a bunch of pocket realms that run on magic. Stuff like the balloonist or the travel like rockets in spyro 3 just existed to guide you across a larger realm - the dragon's realm. Said dragon's realm was where they kinda served as the gate guardians, and any time you didn't have them, the magic and therefor the portals to other places disappeared, like Spyro 3 where the sorceress supposedly ran them out. Still, never gave it any seriously deep though, and I feel like Spyro 2 pokes holes in this logic because Avalar is a world with many worlds, and one that doesn't naturally have dragons (since they had to pull Spyro there to combat ripto).

    If my understanding is correct, they could all be on the same planet because the terms used are based on Faery (or Fey) lore, which are usual references of distance.
    "Realms" are referred to as continents so far away you wouldn't know it exist. Some would say the opposite ends of the planet.
    "Worlds" on the other hand are mass islands or archipelago (such as continents), usually claimed.
    And "Lands" are the nearest proximity within those "worlds."
    The portals, most likely as you explained, are there to fast travel within the "lands", but are not strong enough to travel you to another "world", so Spyro has to use a balloon or some other form of transportation to get there. So from what I can gather, the Dragon Worlds are islands part of a rather stretched archipelago.
    The Super Portal the Professor invented was without a doubt his way of trying to accomplish the goal of traveling even further distance than the usual portal could. His need of coordinates was to pin point a portal or at least intercept one that was currently active.
    As for how Spyro dug through the earth to the Forgotten Realm is beyond me. I took it as more of a toony thing where you dig straight down and find yourself in China or something.
    Lastly, the whole "why couldn't the dragons fly back to the Forgotten Realm?" Again, referring to fey lore, once you're banished... you're banished. Magical creatures always comply to the holder unless the holder lifts the ban. So because the Sorceress was stealing dragon eggs, she was "reintroducing" dragons back into her realm, thus it would classify as lifting the ban.

To me I've just sort of just accepted it like with other stories that have very little explanation for their worlds backgrounds and how it all works and Spyro just has dragons as the focus compared to like a Wizard, Elves and so on other fantasy stories and characters and obviously as a bit of robots, generators and other technology mixed in.

    Here's how I'd use to interpret the worlds in Spyro.
    The Dragon World:
    I'd say the area's like Artisans, Peace Keepers etc, are different countries in the Dragon world. And the stages in each are different areas of said country.
    Avalar:
    For Avalar I'd say it's an alternate world and Summer Forrest, Autumn Plains, and Winter Tundra are sort of like United Kingdoms. So Glimmer, Idol Springs, Colossus etc, are all countries in Summer Forrest. Zephyr, Breeze Harbour, Scorch etc are part of the Autumn Plains Kingdom and so on.
    The Forgotten Realm:
    As for The Forgotten Realm, same thing with The Dragon World, Sunrise Spring, Evening Lake etc are countries and each level are different sections of said country. Except, both Dragon World and Forgotten Realm are part of the same planet.
    Btw I'm not good at geography so I apologise if I am completely wrong 😂

    Dimensional travel is possible in Spyro's and Crash's universe. Crash Twinsanity proved that what with Spyro traveling to the 10th dimension to get his gems back that Victor and Moritz stole from his dimension with their vice versa reverser devices. Considering the super portal in Avalar is the only portal in the series where you have complete choice in the matter of its destination due to the vast amount of magical energy the power crystal provides the orbs that's probably the only portal in Spyro's universe that could have possibly gone to the 10th dimension, but as shown in Crash Purple/Spyro Orange there just happened to be a portal that lead to the Wumpa islands from Spyro's dimension so clearly interdimenional travel is something a portal in Spyro in general can do.
    As for orbs I believe they are dragon powered to an extent. I believe Avalar kind of exists in between dimensions because of how they caught Spyro by locking onto him as he was traveling to Dragon Shores using two orbs. Imagine in between portals there's a lane dragons have to travel on before popping out in another part of their world or in a world in a different dimension. I believe orbs are able to power Avalar's portals by collecting magic from dragons as they go by mid portal travel. Then they take the magical energy and it can be used to make portals and somewhat control where they go to utilizing the technological aspect of the orbs. As shown with the super portal with enough magic you can use orbs to set an exact destination on a portal, but that kind of thing would require more magic than that which could be drive by collected from traveling dragons.

    I always assumed the dragon realms were a solar system. Avalar itself is another solar system entirely, located somewhere far from the reach of the dragons. As for the method in which the avalar portals worked, it's a bit...odd. See, I always imagined the portals were a stable sort of wormhole, with the fabric of spacetime being warped in a way that allows travel to the specific realm.
    I was into star trek as a kid, so I kinda applied similar concepts to the seemingly interdimensional travel in play here.

    I like to think that all 3 games are the same world, let me expand on the video a bit since most of my theory is similar.
    Avalar is a moon in orbit around the dragons planet. I think the portals are short range and can't travel very far (until the super portal at least) hence why lands can only be reached in their respective world. It's why Artisans doesn't have portals to every land and why flight is needed to reach the other worlds. It also explains how parts of the planet was forgotten. Oceans are vast and over centuries it's easy to forget where land is. The reason I think Avalar is a moon is due to the fact gems and other materials have magical properties, so it must be connected to the dragons planet.
    It's quite possible to learn one day that Riptos world is yet another moon in orbit and why there was mention of dragons bullying him.
    Another key argument for my theory;
    Fairies exist in all these worlds.
    The dragon realms, Avalar & riptos world all have fairies. Seems a bit of a reach using dimensions as an explination, all the "worlds" being part of eachother is more likely.
    What do you think Vivi?

    • @VtnVivi

      Interesting take!!!! You're right about the fairies. Also taking into account the Guide Book, there seems to be magic in Avalar as well, makes you believe that Spyro wasn't the first to visit the place. I could be wrong on that part, heck the guide book could've been a result of the fairies.

    All I'll say is its anyone's guess.

      So we are to believe there's an underground portal? Makes more sense.

    The world of Spyro 1 is a flat earth. On one side is the world of Spyro 1, on the opposite side are the forgotten realms of Spyro 3

      If so, then all 3 worlds are on the same ''planet'', just VERY distant from one another going off your theory.

      @@VtnVivi yeah I mean in spyro 3 hunter and spyro had to go through the hole which ended on the other side of the world. And when the sorceress defeated the dragons killing them in a genocide. The dragon mother can't remember her name flew with her dragon eggs to a new land. So yeah its planet

    I would like to see American Dragon: Jake Long, meets Spyro crossover!
    I can imagine their first scene.
    Jake: Woo! Your good, but not as good as me. ;)
    Spyro: Not as good?
    Says the guy who just "transforms" himself into a Dragon, whereas I'm the "Real Deal"
    The dialogue between these 2 would be golden!

    the difference between the definitions of the word "world" and the word "realm" is interesting.
