In some companies in Germany they will ask you to not put your name (and photo) on your application/resume besides in the very beginning so an employee can give it to the one making the decisions without revealing your name, therefore it's basically impossible to judge them based on ethnicity, gender, etc and they have to rely on your education and experience :)

i want to say the whole racism about a name is an American thing...i work online and on phone and when i use my real name people say things like "maybe you would understand better if you were an american" or "i want to talk to an american or someone in America" but after i changed my name to Madison that all stopped in fact i get Americans saying "that's unique I've never heard that before" this is in 2020...i have also experienced the no call back for jobs or apartments due to my name...racism is alive and well we have laws against discrimination based on race, religion, gender, nationality etc but not on names but the racism because of the name is always based upon one of the prohibited basis written in law you just can't prove it

I appreciate Jae's not being versed in the professional world bc same...and I start SO many with "to whom it may concern" soo...v relatable.
Also, my name is not even that hard to pronounce but I've given up trying to correct people. Like they literally combine my first and last name and I'm like "yep. that's me...Lorenzo Rizzo." I actually do go by my middle name in some settings bc no one will ever misspell or misunderstand Victoria.

Like, for example, if a "white person" comes to live in an asian country, are they prejudiced, too?
