    what was the chain driven bit on the front of the engine?
    why does it have a sump if the oil gets injected in with the fuel?
    is my understanding of the 13B not up to scratch?

    • @hijodedios51206
      @hijodedios51206 6 років тому

      Oscar Thorpe the chain drives the oil pump. And the oil is injected separately from the fuel, it has its own oil metering pump.

    • @hijodedios51206
      @hijodedios51206 6 років тому

      Some people delete the OMP, block it off, and run premix in the fuel system. Some believe it works better than oem system. I'd say do both omp and premix.

      I once heard a story from a professional locksmith. When he first started, he would come to a house to open a lock and it would take him an hour. He would struggle to use the tools. He would struggle to align the pins. But eventually, the locksmith would pop the lock and the owner of the house felt so bad it was difficult, he would pay him his fee AND tip him on top of it. As the locksmith excelled at his craft and learned to use his tools, he would show up to a house and have the lock opened in under a minute. The home owner would then look at him sideways and begrudgingly pay his house call fee, no tip, no thanks.
      Rebuilding a motor is no different. Sure, the parts cost money but what you're paying for is years and years of experience. A plumber just connects pipes. An electrician just connects wires. It all looks easy when a professional does it. ;)

      Yes 1500 profit my ass.... before or after he's done measuring, cleaning, tearing old one out of the car, pulling all items off the rotor housings. While working on other customers cars ect. That's like the people I do work for on custom full car restorations. "Well chip foose can do it in 48hours. Why does it take more than a year for you to do it?" Um #1 chip foose is a tv show with unlimited budget that he writes off as donation in his taxes for a car show. So he has at least 15 people working on that car for 48 hours. #2 no other cars or customers while he works on it. #3 all off the shelf parts and cars he takes have miles of bolt on parts since cost and parts are mostly donated to the show. #4 I already work 12 hours a day. On multiple cars at once it takes time to get parts and refresh and not resto mod old cars if you want a numbers matching body to engine to transmission. Rebuilding and milling an engine can take weeks to get back from engine shop. #5 your car is in nowhere as good of condition you think it's in due to your rose colored glasses you are seeing it through. There are major set backs after looking over a car that is old as there is always rust you cant find until frame and body are off.... #6 usually shops that are fair only mark up cost of parts a little and make money off hours worked on said vehical. Shops that mark up parts 500% or more and charge premium for labor go out of business fast.
