I will suggest to avoid the later part of June to September as this is cyclone prone area and heavy rainfall is expected..the best time to visit here is October to Mid of June..and regarding eateries you will find many good hotels on Fort road and near Nagoa beach.

How much price of nearby hotel for stay 1 night?
Normally a good AC hotel costs here round 1500-2000 in off season and in holiday season it might be 2500 to 3500 per day..

The current condition of Diu is super bad. There are roadworks and potholes everywhere, would not recommend going to Diu for 6 months or so
