@@bigbearhungry983 I agree that there are some European countries that have done worse, for example Belgium but Europe has flattened the curve as they call it. The US numbers are still going up and staying up while Europe is going down and staying down. Europe is stable in the pandemic and a lot of countries have re-opened without having massive spikes. Sadly this hasn't been the case for the US, one of the reasons why the US has such a problem with this is because there hasn't been a national plan. Every state does something different. US is getting worse while Europe is staying around the same numbers.
Of course in Europe having a national plan per country is easier because the countries are a lot smaller but at least the message to the citizens is consistent. Living in the Netherlands, our government response to covid was slow and wasn't great, and I am pissed about that but we have a consistent message and rules that everybody complies with without too much backlash because the rules are there to help everyone limit the spread of the virus. That just isn't the case in the US. So much backlash over something as simple as a face mask...
The USA has significantly more deaths and more cases than ANY developed country and it STILL hasn’t managed to flatten the curve yet. 170,000+ deaths and counting 1000+/day. Perhaps Trump meant that YOU will be sick FROM winning.

In Australia, the second city if Melbourne has just shut down again and there will be no school, again, for 6 weeks. This is with between 50 - 150 cases per day. You are 100% right.
In my home state of South Australia we have had a total of only 443 cases and 4 deaths and my kids did not go to school for 6 weeks while there were active cases each day. My kids did incredibly well learning from home. Their education did not suffer, their teachers were dedicated and provided great online learning. Being housebound and bored was the main concern for my kids. Unfortunately your President and the people he surrounds himself with are totally incompetent. Also do not let your kids get on that school bus. If you must send them to school. Whether it is you or friend who is like minded about the virus, just drive them to school. Better still get them to walk or ride their bike if possible. I have made many great American friends on my travels and wish you all well.

I think so. I'be been going to the gym for five weeks now, beaches, parks, with my son. I've had three covid 19 test, all negative. I do take precautions, I wear a mask, stay away from crowds as much as I can, and I spend a lot of time outdoors without no mask. I only wear a mask when I am in a public indoor place of business. One interesting note, one gym I go to has no social distancing, hardly anyone wears a mask, and no known cases of covid 19, and it's been open for over five weeks, andI am 51 years old. Take precautions, do not live in fear, live your life and you will most likely be okay. Just take precautions and safety your number one priority.
