Thank you my dude. This was all the info i needed for this game. I never played the original because it doesn't agree with modern hardware. But i had so many questions. i used traders but never understood the mechanics behind it. So this video was spot on with all that i needed. Now i just have to get used to the pathfinding. Still a great game :) I see the good things but the bad things takes some time to learn how to circumvent. Even though i have no nostaliga i still see some really good things about this game.
Thank you for watching. I would recommend to check up Merchant guide and Richest settlements as it will give you more information and context for this video as well :). If you enjoy make sure to subscribe for more videos and guides
Thanks for the great guide, just came back to RTW with the remaster. I was just wondering: In the trade overview screen of the cities, some resource icons are displayed in colour while others are white or greyed out. Would you know the reason or the impact of this?
Your welcome I am glad it helped you :) I would recommend you to check my Merchant guide as it adds up to this video. And ofc if you enjoy the content subscribe I am making much more. You can request also interesting topic you think I should cover
Thanks for kind comment. Sorry for late replay I was off the grid :D. I am only sad that Rome didnt lasted that much :/ but hey Medieval 2 is immortal haha :D
Thanks for the excellent job! What is this "deckets" you always say after saying a sum of money? Do you mean it as a cuurency or something else that I dont get? And how exactly the process of monopolisation happens? I think it was not explained. Is it a random event, based on chance/%, or you can influece it somehow?
@@strategydux how did you come with the idea that they used dukats in roman age? Usage of that coin started in the high middle ages, 1000 years after the Romans. Roman currency was denar.
@@brakonierrr7067 Since this video was used for National Geographic documentary series and it is advanced research document which is purely focusing on different type of monetary currencies in ancient times. Our team decided to call them dukats :D Point being call them dollars if you want :D
@@strategydux Awesome. Thank you so much. I tried playing remastered thinking the merchant was similar to the merchant in Medieval 2, but they seemed different

Merchant guide is up mate. It is a really cool "unit". I think he is more of a utility than unit :D
@@strategydux Awesome. Thank you so much. I tried playing remastered thinking the merchant was similar to the merchant in Medieval 2, but they seemed different
@@jbbyebye Yea they are more powerful and deeper than medieval 2. Cheers mate
My merchant is producing zero income. Does it have to do with the fact that his city has a plague? ☠
Can be multiple things. From position, your production, being at war, not being properly placed etc
Very detailed video. Thank you sir!
