The last 20 seconds were simply incredible

Dude when the evo kicked inn!!!
120% agree with this
I agree. So awesome. This build series has been epic
"Hondas aren't really about having a bunch of power..."
BoostedBoiz: Hold my ebay turbo
They might be fast in a perfectly straight line but wheres the fun in that.
@@bones6978 this !
@@bones6978 Boosted bois aren't the best example but there are plenty of fast Honda's that turn. There are some batshit crazy time attack Integras out there.
@@bones6978 It's crazy how there are people out there who enjoy drag racing. I personally don't find it fun so clearly it's not fun for other people right???
@@RedWingedBlackbird in drag racing all you have to do is worry about getting a good launch and not mess up the gear changes. In actual driving there are so many more variable and things to learn and improve on.
It's a non Type-r civic, that's more Type-r than the real Type-r
Love it.
RICKY only good for bragging rights , this build is better than a type r in every way
@@anthonyhernandez1953 Wrong! The EK9 has an entirely different chasis than any other EK/EJ Civic. Its chassis is seam welded rather than spot welded like normal Civics are, and it has several reinforcement pieces welded into different points of the chassis and body, also EK9 have no sound deadning material anywhere lo be lighter. I worked at a Honda Dealership, I know what I'm talking about!
Yes it is but remember this car was built by a factory that specialized in economy cars and family sedans. So it was a great factory build and they built it for the technology that was available 22 years ago. If the nanny rules were put aside they could build another lightweight civic and get rid of all the crap, sound deadening, heavy glass etc etc. Honda has the capability to do it but it would not be profitable. And to me while it is great the new type R is a heavy techno turbo charged mess.
Carlos Almeida minor differences, nothing major , weight reduction is always possible, type r’s are always hyped , end of the day American spec civics are still light weight and are fwd, the engine from the type r and American spec is not a huge difference, the way they built this motor is better than a k20a R , except I would’ve gone with a k20z1 head instead
RICKY his money , his car, he could do whatever he wants to it , yeah cus those are hard to come by here in the states , and the real ones are rhd, drive thru a pain in the ass, anything type R is overpriced , the ONLY type R engine that is actually hella worth it , is the fd2 k20a , only because it makes the most power out of any type r engine n/a , and I heard it’s factory ported but don’t quote me on it though,
"But this car, isn't the only one we built for street class."

That Evo came in at the end like it was a new challenger in Initial D
Daniel M Yes! I feel like watching an Initial D episode and it ends when the Evo shows up.
@@JunsMiniGarage Team Emperor shows up haha
It sure did. I'm glad I wasn't the only one who felt that way lol

I never thought i'd fall in love with non turbo civic, but after hearing those sweet n/a sound, damn.....
Same
I agree.
I agree with you. The sound that k24 makes is incredible. Leaves me with s funny feeling in my pants
Tru
NA makes sense, turbo civics are never as driveable it’s just a torque steering mess
27:53 that intro of the evo tho gave me chills
That sound though 😍
kinda epic, but then u see that moustache

Being a car guy is weird. I'm excited about the features of the battery
Glad I'm not the only one whos excited by this.
No, I'm a experienced but no car owner. But I know about cars lel
I just looked up the price of that battery for my s2000. $659.99. Yikes
@@MrJessenava Exactly 😁 I have 280z mine will cost me $830 my currency (255 kwd) 🙈 I usually buy my battery 18 kwd ($58) and last me around 2 yrs (we use AC 6+ months because our weather almost like Death Valley) Anyway, that's mean I can buy "14" batteries for 28 yrs (till year 2048). 🙈😂😂😂
I like car batteries for no reason
He did the official power steering check: the pinky.
Classic Pinky test. Was pretty awesome to see him do it so nonchalant too haha
Best car content,
When it comes to being unique, attention to detail, editing, filming, lighting, plot, content, story, climax, ending, explanations for everything.
🎥 and popcorn 🍿 everytime
The Truth I agree with you 110%
“Mia is finally complete”. Why do car people keep repeating such a lie? 😂😂
snakerb for now buddy, for now, it’ll go probably go back to not done yet in a couple of months
It helps us sleep at night...
The only mod he forgot was an alarm system. We all know what happens to Hondas XD.
Just because he didn't discuss a security system doesn't mean it doesn't have one. Just food for thought. A well installed security system shouldn't be noticeable.
26:57 FACTS!!!
Yes!!!
The best driving experience you can get from a FWD car.
Ben - when it comes time to sell, I’d like to be first in line for it.
hes was selling the Forester on bring a trailer wish i had the money to get it
No dude he's Selling it to me bro Haha
When he decides to sell it it's probably going to be destroyed
ill beat you to it, i don't care if its not in canada ill pay good money for it lol
I know, that Evo is beautiful.
These both builds i.e. Civic and Evo completely changed my perception of JDM Cars. Absolutely love it.
So satisfying when you find 30 minutes long videos on UA-cam and enjoy every minute of it.
27:53 haha I loved this moment, I probably rewind and watch that evo entrence 30 times before finishing the video
T it looks like a car entrance into a race in a video game
PineappleP1e Penguin, it totally did. Like need for speed
The best evo intro I've ever seen
That impression of an Australian accent is dead on! Hahaha!
Nah it more like new zealand
is it an homage to MCM? or why the accent? anybody know? @Gears and Gasoline
K swapped this same hatch back in 07 and man i loved it. It was my first and least stressful build ive ever done. The honda community has an answer or video for everything. I have an Audi rn and its torture when something breaks because theres hardly any videos out there. I hope you enjoy this car because its an absolute experience.
I pray who ever reads this becomes successful...
GOT GOOSEBUMPS WHEN THEY ANNOUNCED THAT THE HONDA AND THE EVO WILL BE ENTERING THE GRIDLIFE. LET'S GET IT!!!!!!!!!!
27:30 when it pans to the wheel there's a small spark, did the caliper make contact with the wheel?
I'm confused. Did he not torque down his wheels, because that shouldn't happen.
It's from the aggressive Hawk DTC-60 metallic brake pads. Totally fine. You generally dont see it, but that shot was filmed closer towards dusk so it was a bit brighter.
I figured there should be no way it just randomly makes contact but wasn't sure if maybe a rock kicked up in. Never knew pads could do that
@@GearsandGasoline how is running the hawk dtc on the street. Aren't they for track only. Amazing video series. Looked forward to every video.
@@GearsandGasoline hey man nice setup.... Think i'm gonna do the big brake setup 🤔🤔😁😁😁
This was a beautiful ending to a beautiful series. I was very impressed with the results that you had on the dyno and glad that all these other mods were made. You are helping me to dream again and that is a good thing.
Man oh man did I enjoy this build series ! Well, basically just about every honda video from the roadtrip to now
yo i got chills when the evo came on wtf that was sick
SAME
saaaame
i literally so hype up when the evo came to the screen
That felt like a freaking movie!!!
Guys this may be my favorite UA-cam channel!! The content and production are top notch. And thank you for the distraction during this pandemic.
chris herbert I agree with you. Not to mention the cars 🙊 they are great too
Can’t wait to see these two on track! Solid builds!
Thank you for keeping the build NA. I'm an old-school Honda head. My friends and I were modifying Hondas back in the early 2000s before everyone was obsessed with turbocharged, AWD drag Hondas. With Honda's rich racing history on road courses, I've never understood the infatuation with making high-HP turbocharged straight line Hondas. It seems so counter intuitive to me. Cars like the DC2 ITR and EK9 were iconic for their high-revving high compression NA motors. and their equally impressive track performance. NA is the only way for me when it comes to Honda. They make great NA motors, why mess with that. With the exception of the FK9 of course
Definitely one of the most satisfying build series' I've ever watched on UA-cam. I really want a Honda now
Zack Elijah I couldn’t agree more with this statement
27:52 Damn! That entrance tho 👌
Wow what a great ending! Love both of the build series!! 🙏🏼❤️❤️
2 years later, and this is the base blueprint of my personal build. This is for all intent and purposes a complete masterpiece. And yes I’m referring to both the videography and the build. Legendary does not do this justice as a description.
I really like the RPF1s on the Evo! It suits it so good. Who agrees?
skyee表現 very much. the size and offset are perfect
Totally agree they look so good and overall just suit it very well
@Christopher Bushnell agreed. But gotta admit that they do look good
I want to know the sizes. I need to run 18's on my 8 because of brakes.. But they are perfect
@Christopher Bushnell I've recently gone from an 18x9.5 tm02 to a 17x9.5 rpf1 on my evo, difference has been night and day! Crazy light weight wheel for the price, more to it than just looks
Goosebumps on that reveal at the end..
When the evo came into the shot 2stepping it gave me goosbumps! amazing seeing two beautiful vehicles built for fun and competition. I can not wait to see you guys racing. keep up the great content!
27:50 Now that's what I call an entrance! I cannot get enough of that! Feeling absolute ecstatic and amazing electric vibes. Well done on all that and nice to see your cars coming together too!
Man I wish I had even a fraction of your guys ability and knowledge when it comes to working on cars 😭
Awesome content as always, looking forward to your track days and to see where you guys go in the future
BritPopVP70 go out and start working on cars. That’s how you gain knowledge/experience
@@CCDVIDEO yup. Did that with my prelude and now my HR 350z. Putting in a new Yoshimura radiator and had to take a bunch of shit out. Never did it but fuck it
I built my K swapped EG with a £100 tool kit, ebay axle stands and by watching UA-cam videos. Sent it to a specialist for a few finishing touches and to check everything. All I'd done before was a brake pad and oil change. 90's Hondas are the perfect beginner platform.
Nothing super complicated has gone on for this build.
@@PT82 Same, almost done turboing the ep3, never did it before
The NZ accent at the end got me, ik he's probs Tryna do Aussie but it came out pure kiwi 😂😂
Why Don't More People Build Honda's... So True! The last 3 minutes were pure gold. You guys have two awesome cars - both super sweet :)
Even knowing the "while you're in there" mindset is a very slippery slope, I've certainly never regretted performing optional maintenance while everything is apart, especially on a vehicle as old as this one. This Civic is gonna be a killing machine.
I love the cinematic touch ! Also this build has inspired me for my future plans with my na miata
Do you watch Money Pit ?
Congrats on selling Francine Ben! You right. I’m crying. Can’t wait to see the next project though!
Your guy's cars are so propperly built, it soothes my soul.🤗
Amazing builds and videos guys. I really like how you showed all the nuances and small details that go into each part addition/modification. Lots of people don't see that side of things. They think you just order a part, bolt it on, and drive.
My man said “including Gridlife”. Hmmmmm
clues
Some beautiful foreshadowing ;)

More great content guys! 👍👍Love the video and the channel, makes me want to go work on my car and it's kind of inspiring me to create more on my own channel, still trying to find my niche in this game but just want to say thank you!
Happy to finished watching this series :) Thanks!!!Awesome!!!
Absolutely love the direction that you built your ek Civic! Every single thing was done right and pure perfection! Can't wait to see you take it for time attack!
Man, I love the vids on this channel. So entertaining, so professionally done. More vids, please.
14:35 nice
Great document btw, this is where I wanted my civic to be at 20 years ago.
I want to tell you. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I definitely enjoy watching and learning from you and your team. I wish I could do the stuff you all are doing.
The content, videography, musics, quality all are amazing! I really love gears and gasoline.
You always post a really good content! Feels like Im watching it in Netflix!!
Btw, make your wheel well and exposed interior body colored.
Heinrich Ranches I agree. Filming and editing is top notch. So are the cars and the content
Man... what a transition for a little hatch back Honda! Kudos to you for going to this extreme, very very impressed! Can't wait until you guys get to hoon these things around on track!
This series is exactly what "JDM" means to me, well done and thank you for doing it right. My dream build is this plus aircon XD
JDM to you means a USDM car and USDM parts?
damn that battery is almost a thousand dollars...lmaooooo
also, Konig wheels best performance per dollar. they make 15x10 too!
but more importantly, YESSSSSS GRID LIFE TIME ATTTACK!!!!!!
Whaaaaaaaattttttt?? 1k?????
Its 320$
It's a little under $300 for the ATX-20-RE battery that I got. Well worth it!
Gears and Gasoline wondering how reliable is the battery? I plan to get it for my street car and I don’t mind charging it every few days
I can confirm it's under $300 on amazon.
Awesome to see these cars come this far. The editing and production skills you guys have make it that much better! Excited to see what you guys have coming next
Great series, absolutely beautiful. Two amazing cars, great reward for the work put in. Well done lads.
The Civic and Evo are looking and sounding amazing, can't wait to see how they do. Saddened by the sale of the Forester XT though 😔
We need a Civic/Evo ASMR road carving video!
Literally just no words to describe, y’all really put in the effort and it shows.
I’ve never seen someone so excited over a battery lol. Enjoy the car short Ben and have fun!
27:31 LOL. nice shot of the metallic pads bedding in and doing work!
27:30 that spark.
I saw that too! I hope he knows about that. I dunno if it's dangerous, but I don't see sparks flying around my car lol.
Man! What a car! Congrats!
you guys definitely do things in a way i admire. i love that the builds are all clean, precise and executed professionally and thoughtfully. i also like that they're done by you guys or with experts when necessary and they're built to be used, not just for big numbers or car shows. exactly how i'd build my cars if i had the time, money and skills that you guys have!
I would love to see the inside floor to have some kind of covering so it give to the car a bit more style inside
he plans of driving on the street so sound insulation in the back seems important if you want to ever talk to your passenger
Damn I’m glad I stayed up like I did
These types of videos get my heart pumping I can’t describe it in any other way than this is my passion and what I need to do. I love cars so much thank you for sparking the fire in me to start working on my car again G&G
Amazing job, can’t wait to see it on the track!
Finally a new episode, been waiting for this one
The cocoa powder is just amazing. Hahaha 😂 brilliant!
Official Honda Kid status achieved! (for all the right reasons) Beautiful car Ben. Honda’s are just so damn cheerful to drive. Enjoy it, explore that redline lots.
The evo coming at the end, got me creeps 😍
take the civic to automotive aesthetic. It's satisfying to watch ;)
15:19 that laugh tho
Hell yeah fellows, i knew something good was coming of both of these build series. So pumped and can't wait to see those cars on the track. Best of luck and ihope yall both do good and have fun.
Always great content Ben and Ben! So stoked that you guys are going to GridLife with these two cars, that's such a rad plan. All the best to you both!
I wanna see Jason Camissa review this and give his driving impressions 🤣
I wanna see what Matt Farah or Zach from TST has to say too
they already a K24 Eh/EG but that wasn't as done up as this one
You need to clean the underside of the hood :)
Other than that; love it!
Definitely, my favorite build video, love both of these cars. I wish I had the time, money, and knowledge to even get close to what you guys are capable of.
Best k swap videos I've ever watched! It was like watching a build on Discovery Channel! Great job brother, great car, and definitely awesome series of your build!
Ayy new episodeeeeeee. Makes me wish I would do this to my Fit someday too.
Honda fit chasis can't handle the power, the 90s civics frames are super strong from factory making them perfect choice just fyi
Haha K20 jazz goes vwaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Really top quality content, I’m in Virginia too and I was curious to what roads you’re on in the end of the video, I assume it’s Shenandoah, but which road?
Funny you mention that cause those roads look like some Santa Cruz roads here in California too!
I think in another video he mentions he’s about 2 hours from Richmond, so that could be close! I’m in Southwest Virginia near Bristol, and there are plenty of fun roads down here, especially since we’re a lot less populated. 😁
One of my favourite build series. Amazing work guys.
Love the build! So happy for you.
Anybody else wish he put a coat of paint on those knuckles & calipers?
27:30 are you sure there is enough clearance? 🤔
mmahgoub i saw the spark too... he might have to double check it
clearance is perfect, thats the pads he installed. that is totally normal buddy
aggressive pads make sparks , looks like a fireworks show when you are bedding them in the first time.
mmahgoub just the pads
You guys did an amazing job with documenting this build. Insane man love it. Cheers
Absolutely amazed! Thank you!
I’m so jealous! This was an absolutely incredible build! So much inspiration and Goals for my build.
Episode 6, how much I have spent on my K swap EK
Too much to the point it's not even worth it and just get a better car out the door.
@@jponz85 but why tho? That civic is great and you really can't buy an equivalent car to the one he built
@@Oemg35 you can get a used c5 z06, even a c6 z06 used for wtf this guy put into his car lol. So no... fuck that. I've put so many mods into my prelude (euro r engine, skunk2 catback, 70mm throttle body, intake manifold, megan headers on a p28 chipped ecu tuned) I still wouldnt put all that money into the lude I'd just get a much faster car stock. Is why I bought a used HR 350z, which btw is faster than a k20 swapped honda lol.
@@jponz85 did you even watch the video? He said Hondas are about pure driving experience, not speed.
You could have probably bought a R33 GTR for the price.
Love so much your videos and the passion you put on it. Keep up the good work!
And that VTEC sound... OMG!!!
The real car guys for real❤️❤️❤️ love this hope to see more civic content
Honda’s get a bad rep because people usually don’t have the money to mod them properly. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen riced out civics with obnoxious fart cans and rust holes everywhere lol
Quick question, anybody noticed the sparks at 27:31?
Aggressive pads will do that. Normal.
Andres Hernandez when you have bigger brakes and bigger pads, that’s more friction and can cause sparks. Look up Crazy Brake Boosts, sparks FLY and they take off!
Sky Ohern Oh ok. I was thinking the caliper hit the wheel. But that probably only happens on cheap wheels and those aren’t cheap wheels.
Love this build 😎 Best thought thru mods on a k-swap ever 👍👍
Aesthetically pleasing,Loved the video!
Love everything about this but that porsche label on the caliper is triggering my ocd!
