Doing my first car camp tomorrow with the dogs. Never even thought about trying car camping until last week. I usually use a tent, but because of forest fire risk - all the mountain camp sites are closed for now, so its to some remote beach with the car for 2 nights.
@@AdventuresWithLilu had to give up on the idea after setting off and the car reading 38 degrees when I arrived at the beach camper park, went back home as tonights low is 29 degrees and i think thats a bit too warm to be inside a closed car lol. Will try again during the cooler months.
Wickes does some nice L shaped brackets which are pre drilled for screws which would reinforce the legs of your bed, i would use small bolts with slots for screwdriver and nuts and washers, i also suggest another layer of plywood, over the top, then screw some rubber feet to each of the legs.. I have had some horrible experiences with diy platforms before i learned to reinforce. Some of those silver window sunscreens would add privacy and shade. I also suggest a portable fire extinguisher in the back, if you plan to cook, it pays to be safe. Nice ideas, admire your spirit of adventure. I had a cold box, food storage, trash container, "pee" bottle, toilet paper and kitchen roll, first aid and minor burn kit, tool kit, for quick repairs, and hygiene box, plus water containers amongst other items. Nice videos, i subscribed.
I enjoyed watching your set up 👍I usually wild camp, but also car camp in my Toyota estate. I've made insulated black out blinds for stealth car camping 😉
Hello Lilu, I am considering a skoda for a car adventure.. how tall are you? To see if i could stretch my legs.. If you know in metres much better! Thanks!
When I first started, I’d tried to make something similar to this, but used some chipboard we had… for me my prob was the complete opposite to you…. Mine weighed a tonne and really didn’t work well at all so binned it 😢 What you’ve got tho is good, Practical and most importantly light 🎉 Ps dominoes are rather random 😂
@@AdventuresWithLilu oh defo, I went the other way here to there 😀 A good way to think of it, is that UA-cam I believe ranks as the 2nd most pop search engine - so certainly with tutorials really get in title and description what it is so people can find it on search 🙏 (Ps just to confuse you more, this vid could even be along the title of “my diy car camper bed” type thing :)
Oh good grief haha... thank you! Appreciate the tips! Tiktok is more short and snappy info, clipped editing and only 3 hashtags these days I think! Algorithms keep changing!

It's funny you say you're not a carpenter because you look a lot like Karen Carpenter. Mad.
