Anemone! What’s not to love? They invite you over with a wave, they wrap you in their loving arms, they take you in, they devour you. It’s a sea of joy!
I always loved the post-punk-pop that sprung from songs like Buzzcocks’s Ever Fallen In Love, and how that sensibility was later reinterpreted in the maelstrom of the Aussie beer barns. I guess Sunnyboys are a good example, there are plenty of others. Pop, crafted songs, simple and with a rough edge: and it still feels fresh!
Anemone was recorded in the bedroom and at Studio 57, Sydney, with the help of Marc Scully, bass guitar and James Swanson, drums.

Ode to a lovely anime, anomin, ammoni, annonamine, ... anyway, what he said. So much fun to be had with sea creatures of the distant deep, who knew? Even those of ambiguous if not anonymous nomenclature (there). And a wonderful complement, I might add, in theme and vision, to Jeff Duff's "Dancing with the Jellyfish". Left thirsty for more, it's replay time, and scouring for touring dates
