Tal's insight that the opposite colored bishops favor the side with the queen is amazing. It's obvious when you see it, but what I guess Tal knew is that the side with the weaker pieces is usually stronger because they can combine their attacks, while the queen can only attack or defend once. But that doesn't apply in a completely open position, where the targets of the two sides are different, and the bishops are on opposite colors. Knowing him, he probably didn't calculate very far after the queen sacrifice. He just felt like he had a decisive initiative. Panno played well - he just failed to evaluate the position correctly. So apparently, did the spectators. Everyone but Tal.
Impressive game indeed. I saw nothing chaotic or disconcerting in Tal. He was his usual self - slow, methodical, intuitive, welcoming, friendly. The game was a thriller on the part of Panno. I've seen Argentinians play football. Well, let me tell you: Panno didn't play like an Argentinian.

What a fantastic run through Tal's dark forest, foreseeing that was super-human!

I don't think I've ever seen any other game where I would have made so many incorrect moves. I find Tal's brilliance both humbling and disconcerting.
