Commenters, you can't judge a driver from such a short onboard footage. This only shows a few laps of the final stage of the race. Ide was trying really hard to keep the 1st place against the NSX. At that point his tyres were totaly gone after a long heavy stint(you can see that). Sure, maybe he was too desperate and did too much. But you can imagine how it feels when you are in the 1st place and you know the checkered flag is just around the corner after a long race.
Surely there was a little touch involved. What i gathered judging purely by this video is the NSX stepped out but then regained control, only to have a slight love tap from the skyline to send him in a spin.
Hey y'all, from a fellow race car driver's point of view, the NSX powered down, lost it, its speed drastically reduced, and thus Ide touched him. It's not like he intentionally did it.
i remember watching this race a couple years back. this was in 2003, skyline's final race in (then) JGTC. yah he actually went on to win the race, but seriously the driver, Ide, has some issues
thats true but the JGTC GT500 class are some of the fastest road racing cars the are actually faster than all of the Le mans cars except the P1 class and that class is right under F1, so its believable that they'd cost that much
I'm not particularly Ide's fan, and I wouldn't dare to say that Yuji Ide is a GREAT driver, but I know he is a decent professional driver. He can be fast when the car and the team is right. Those who labels him as a deadful driver only from his SA F1 days have no idea what they are talking about. If anyone to be blamed for that, it should be Aguri Suzuki who threw Ide into the 4-year-old Arrows without any preparation(even without decent seat-fitting!).
Im partial with this one...The GTR was technicaly in the wrong although I dont think it was a good idea for the NSX to cover turn one... not after entering way off line and then inturn having such a slow exit speed... If you look closely the GTR nearly looses control after braking way to hard - to late through the corner and a tap was it all it took.
That was a clean close racing accident, it can happen to anybody, he didn't do it on purpose. If you have never raced don't talk about what you don't know.
The driver in the GT-R lost the track at 1:53 I get confused at that bit on Gran Turismo 4 now and again, makes me check which version of the track it is.
Replying to a 10 year old comment is pretty dumb ik but just to point it out.... They actually did race there at Suzuka in the 1990s. It was one of their exhibition races there in Japan, they also raced at Motegi, I think
Ide did not hit Michigami at 2:18. Michigami spun on his own. Similar to this video: watch?v=JnJZ9dvXYhA&feature=related . Looks like Jarno tapped him but they spun on their own.
all jgtc cars that i know of use straight cut gears. that is why they are all so loud. that and having no sound deadening material doesn't help either.
I guess no he didn't get a penalty , this kind of tricks on track are looked as something very common there in Super GT. Maybe we are so much used to see penalty drops on pilots who makes movements on their rivals and touches them, like in F1 .
We've all played racing games where your trying so hard to get back in front that you misjudge a corner and tap somebody. Or, you misjudge and somebody doesn't expect it and they tap you. Its part of the sport. Now had he rammed the living shit out of him....well.....that's not right. But it didn't seem that way.
@SCHIZOPHRENlC I totally agree! This was down and dirty no guts no glory racing. The stuff I've been looking for. I used to be a NHRA fan, but they're too mainstreamed and full of BS now a days. I have DirecTV, can anyone recommend a channel that I can catch races like this regularly? I think I'm now a GT fan XD.
WOW you guys are blind! look close as a pro he didnt open the pot for him, he got hit in the rear bumper corner, LOOK 100000 times till you see he got hit! wow some one need glasses here... BTW i dont know if its Motoyama but Michigami sure is better then Ide...
@svnrf drivin level in japan as shit? just look at how many records japanese have broken....i have yet to see anybody come close to the level of the japanese drifters as well...
このときの道上選手のコメントが悔しそうで...
R34ファイナルランということもあったと思うけど、加算されてもいいよなこれ...

この時のTAKATAの音エグいなw(もちろんいい意味で)
oh my god, takata dome nsx, ::start crying:: watching that gtr from the back... ::starts drooling:: those tail lights are hypnotic.
that was balls hanging on around the outside of the long sweeper!
the skylines tyres were gooooooooonnnnnneeeee!!!!!
he was all over the place!
I can feel the power and excitement in my chair!
In fact, and if you search for the results of this race, the Calsonic GT-R won.
And that Dome NSX got 2nd place.
So, damn you Yuji Ide !!
Yup, the whine you hear is the race spec strait cut gears from the transmission.
Surely there was a little touch involved. What i gathered judging purely by this video is the NSX stepped out but then regained control, only to have a slight love tap from the skyline to send him in a spin.

道上に特攻するIDEw
i was not surprised to see that
カルソニックリアタイヤずるずるじゃん
in JGTC, the NSX is Naturally Aspirated. That proves that NA cars can keep up with Turbo Charged cars, and plus, NO LAG like that Calsonic Skyline..
Ashtonishing NSX
i remember watching this race a couple years back. this was in 2003, skyline's final race in (then) JGTC. yah he actually went on to win the race, but seriously the driver, Ide, has some issues
I think he meant the camera quality, not the position of the camera
- And i agree
@FourG63 first off, i agree. Second, this is not in any way a stock car.
props to the skyline racer. It's impossible to pass on this track unless you give him a love tap.
Or go for the undercut
Great footage!!

IDE発動してて草
can someone tell me about changing gear with a sequential. do you even need to use the clutch? or just lift of throttle? or neither?
Im partial with this one...The GTR was technicaly in the wrong although I dont think it was a good idea for the NSX to cover turn one... not after entering way off line and then inturn having such a slow exit speed... IDEの体当たり!
That GT-R driver cut in the Casio triangle chicane :S
this is straight up real life Gran Turismo 2
That was a clean close racing accident, it can happen to anybody, he didn't do it on purpose. If you have never raced don't talk about what you don't know.
🔥

LOL that whine you hear is NOT the turbo..hahah..it's the race spec straight cut gears from the transmission.
2:20 no fair play at all...
It Sounds Like A Metro 6R4
押してるやん〜
SirVantes is right, the rest of you obiously couldnt see the R34 skylines counter steering.
Now THIS is real racing, I'd like to see NASCAR drivers even TRY to drive tracks like this.
Replying to a 10 year old comment is pretty dumb ik but just to point it out....
They actually did race there at Suzuka in the 1990s. It was one of their exhibition races there in Japan, they also raced at Motegi, I think
Awesome.
sick driving skillz.. do you know wich nsx those in car footage where from?
It was Takata Dome type NSX
Ide did not hit Michigami at 2:18. Michigami spun on his own. Similar to this video: watch?v=JnJZ9dvXYhA&feature=related . Looks like Jarno tapped him but they spun on their own.
Very nice.
even though it's Twin Turbo, i think they still do :D
all jgtc cars that i know of use straight cut gears. that is why they are all so loud. that and having no sound deadening material doesn't help either.
you only use the clutch on the launch then you don't lift off the gas during shifting
hell yeah!
MY GOD! that Skyline was a pain-in-the-ass to overtake!!
Good driving in the NSX, poor driving in the GT-R.
clearly Ide's fault- looks like he hasn't changed since 2006
That sort of driving cost him his F1 Super License X)
I guess no he didn't get a penalty , this kind of tricks on track are looked as something very common there in Super GT.

@whisperingprinze82
I was about to say the same thiong!Nice one
i'd vote for the nsx got cliped by skyline.
Good 'ole VQ30DETT power... :D
6 people like barbie dolls.
damn that calsonic driver did him wrong
We've all played racing games where your trying so hard to get back in front that you misjudge a corner and tap somebody. Or, you misjudge and somebody doesn't expect it and they tap you. Its part of the sport. Now had he rammed the living shit out of him....well.....that's not right. But it didn't seem that way.
he should have given him room
i know chris, i know...
great dicing, too bad Yuji Ide took out Ryo
that was some pretty fked up driving by the skyliner. the nsx was all over him like nothin... but good race.
飛ばすなよぉ(;´д`)
これはレーサーとして、NGな行為ですよね……。
担当してたドライバーは井出ユウジでしたっけ❔ここは潔くピットに入って、タイヤ交換して仕切り直して闘って欲しかったです😣
wrong F1 quicker in a straight line when the down force is adjusted for the long straits. In fact champ/indy has old F1 technology and chassis.
@SCHIZOPHRENlC I totally agree! This was down and dirty no guts no glory racing. The stuff I've been looking for. I used to be a NHRA fan, but they're too mainstreamed and full of BS now a days. Fuck...this happens to me in Gran Turismo
too bad he got hit in the end of the video. he worked hard to keep it up. yeye
I would daily that shit.
@pab4994 lol what a wise ass thing to say.. something i woulda said!
Skyline driver must be penalty man dammm :(
FUCK!! the NSX had him
For once Ide was too fast :P
WOW you guys are blind!
look close as a pro he didnt open the pot for him, he got hit in the rear bumper corner, LOOK 100000 times till you see he got hit! wow some one need glasses here...
BTW i dont know if its Motoyama but Michigami sure is better then Ide...
Sir Skyline........... you fail
