It depends on where you are. In the US, corn flour is a finely ground version of corn meal and usually don't use the word maize to describe corn products. You can get cornmeal in several grades of coarseness, from that used for polenta or grits, to a finer grind used for baking, to the finest grind which we call corn flour. In the UK, cornflour is what in the States call cornstarch. It's used as a thickener, for velveting meat in stir frying, and for other things where starch is needed. So if you are North/South America it will be corn flour and in UK it will be called as maize flour.
Its a cornmeal. Cornmeal is a meal (coarse flour) ground from dried maize (corn). It is a common staple food, and is ground to coarse, medium, and fine consistencies, but not as fine as wheat flour.
Much, much easier way. I found a cheap aluminum tray from a dollar store and cut taco shell molds out if them. No need for all the fuss for homemade crispy taco shells.
I guess this is Awesome 👍! Great job!.... I will surely try it and I wish I will get to eat home made 🌮 TACOS in this lockdown! 😂 Let's hope for the best... 🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️Love Tacos!! Thankyou sooooooo much for sharing this recipe!...❤️🥙🥪🌮🥞🍕🥧🍳🍔🍗🌭🧀🍞🍟🥢🍖🍴
What a flop i had recipe without baking powder but i thought to try this one but they gone soft after sometime my recipe never go soft even next day i wish i continue my old recipe i like the mathod how you bend them
You have to bend the taco shell immediately when they are hot i.e. coming out straight from the frying. Once at room temperature, they will break if you try to bend it.
They must have some real 3rd quality maize flower in India because if you have good one never try this recipe. I even tried it and as a baker my prediction was right. Your dough would be too soft and will crack while rolling, frying or any other point. You need almost fake level maize flower for this that's how bad quality yours is. 😂
Literally there were no other recipes on the internet. I tried this recipe and the results were fantastic! Thanks!
Highly appreciate your feedback. Thanks.
I agree with you.
Thank you for letting us know how they turned out. Think I'll try some.

Can you tell me how minute or how long we fry before we shape it?
Fry for 15-20 seconds and then flip and fry till the color changes. The whole process will not take more than a minute in medium hot oil
Thanks a lot. l was looking for this recipe to do taco shell
thankyou!!! why do you have to set it aside for 10 minuted by the way?
So that it is much easier to roll the dough
I live in south Africa and I just want to know is corn flour the same as mielie meal
Yes it is, just white though. Use a few drops yellow food gel to colour. Turmeric is bitter.
Sitting here sick to my stomach after eating spoiled store bought shells, my friend sent me this and I think I'll try it, it looks easy!
Thank You
Mere tacos soft bn rahay hai ,itna try kia phr b koi btaye plzz kia kre😊
Fry in low to medium heat. Oil ka moin kum kere, try adding half maida and half rice flour. Hope this helps.
Because of how thin it is, you don't need baking powder - which ingredient makes it bubble and puff (raising agent).
Oil and baking powder together, makes it crunchy and allows some bubble to appear.
what temp for the oven?
So simple and easy. 💕
Thank you
What your using in pan to cook it? Water? Or oil?
Oil
Very very nice idea dear it's work thank you
Thank you. Great to receive your feedback.

You can find in the grocery store. You can also buy corn meal and later grind it to flour

can we also make in whole courn flour too?
It is difficult to bind only with the maize flour and so you can add whole wheat flour instead of plain flour.
Thank you for sharing
Please try and post here.

Add 1/2 cup warm water gradually to make a soft dough. Add more water if required.
Wow lively way, to make tacos

Temperature of the oil !??
You can check the heat by putting a small piece of dough in the oil. If it rises up immediately, then the oil is hot enough to fry.
Hey what's maize? Can you explain please
Maize is just corn flour.
Its a cornmeal. Cornmeal is a meal (coarse flour) ground from dried maize (corn). It is a common staple food, and is ground to coarse, medium, and fine consistencies, but not as fine as wheat flour.

Corn Flour is different and is used as a thickening agent. One need to use the yellow maize flour (corn meal)
Awesome video!
Thank You
can we use besan instead of maize? Bcos we won't get maize
No. Taco shells are made using maize flour (Makai Atta). This is available all across India in even small places and small towns.
Do they become hard or soft? And how many tacos will come out of this recipe?
4*4*4*4 is how many tacos that recipe can make but the crunchiness in a mystery
Around 20 to 25 crunchy taco shells.
Ottimo video complimenti ciao e tante belle cose grazie mille 🥰🥰🥰🤗😘amo cucinare desidero imparare salve sono un italiano

What did u fry the tacos in, was it oil or like was it warm water
Fried in Oil
Is it possible to not use maize flour and just plain flour?
Yes you can make with plain flour. However the texture and flavour will be much better with maize flour.
Much, much easier way. I found a cheap aluminum tray from a dollar store and cut taco shell molds out if them. No need for all the fuss for homemade crispy taco shells.
Great
Aluminium is poison
What kind of oil do you recommend?
Any vegetable oil can be used
Which is the oil.
Refined Sunflower Oil
You never said how much warm water
I have mentioned 1/2 cup warm water in the recipe. Recipe Link - www.blissofcooking.com/2020/07/crunchy-taco-shells/
Thankyou for this recepie 🤧
Your are welcome. Thanks.
Hai, can we bake the dough instead of frying it? Or it should be another recipe?
I haven't tried baking it and then giving a shape. Thank you
great 👍
Thank you
is that an oil or boiled water?
Dough is made using warm water. The crunchy shells are made by frying them in oil.

Could you tell me at what temp your oil is at or your burner? Also how deep is the oil you're frying initially in?
Medium heat around 500 degree celcius. You don't much oil, max of 2-3 inches of oil in a pan is enough.
@@alokagrawal476 500°C ???? up 210°C oil burn! and if you tell it in °F, it's 260°C...
Sorry about this. It was a mistake.

If the taco shells bend without breaking then they are not crunchy!!! They will be chewy!
