widgie!! good to see ya joining the malta crew. something you should really try is using your explorer for depots more, i have a whole video about using depot construction micro to force decisions on your opponents, but you can just completely litter the map with depots and make it extremely dangerous and time consuming for your opponent to push without cannon, or if they arent paying attention you can massively decrease the health of their whole army at once. you can also put them on coin mines to both scout for enemy settlers on them, or scare them off the coin mine entirely :D
in this game, while your army was pushing in the southern side of the base, you coulda planted a bunch of depots right next to the guys second TC since it was a bit far from the first, forcing him to either split his military to deal with your explorer, idle his settlers to have the TC deal with your explorer, or just let the depots go up and sacrafice a bunch of TC HP at an time of your choosing
Thanks man! Appreciate the comment and I will look into the whole depot strategy. It’s just sometimes difficult to think about and it costs quite a bit of resources after building loads of them lol
@@Widgie i like to think of the cost of a depot to be just more than a single 1 pop unit since its 100 resources on the dot, but split between wood/coin instead of cheaper food based costs. its like taking 20 training seconds to spend 100 resources on a 850 HP unit that can't move and only hits once, but has a MASSIVE aoe
I open 2 churches, 3 vils, German tongue. Churches give exp as fast as TP but are safe in your base. Focus bow pike age 2, send 700 gold macro for age up when it best fits, flex to bow hospitallers if game pushes to industrial
Hey bud which elo you are? i am 1100 elo with level 120 malta and they need buffs in my opinion. i loose 100% vs mexico, spain push or russian rush

Could gone for age 3 very easily because you always had more then 1000 gold from past 10 min
And you where flouting a bit wood as well

Yay more Malta! How do the Fire throwers feel mixed into things, bit like Abus guns?
Fire Throwers are S Tier skirms. With goons it’s nice + Hospits
level 120 malta here, still bad winrate. was hoping for buffs, yeah 1000c is nice, but Malta needs more. Never played Indian/Brits before and i win everything. malta NEEDS map control, turtle is bad. a good buff would be 2 Culvs Age 3. because we have no falcs
never a huge fan of Malta but I love using those supply buildings to blow up the ai players that pas by them!

wow this civ is so easy to play compared to the original aoe3 look player can make stable and barracks fast too I mean make 1 barrack and get a shipment of stable awesome
they should nerf the guardians and make it 1 pop
This civ is just so boring with xbows and pikes
You can go for an FF or something a little different
Feels like AoE2 Byzantine in AoE3! They also can go for Fire Throwers, Longbows and aggressive depos.
