Bomberman canon is so convoluted that this is only one version of his origin story. Other times he's invented by a scientist or was given birth like a human. It's absolutely bizarre tbh, and that's not even scratching the surface of just how disconnected and full of retcons the Bomberman lore is
Really put out the impression of an actual cutscene in the game! Animation style, and quality was absolutely spectacular! You are truly talented! Great work!
Only to wander across the city in his robot form for the sequels and such. With many Spin Offs it's impossible to tell what's canon and what not in this franchise.
@@mrbarrington2709 I figure the first Bomberman on Turbo-Grafx 16 is a complete reboot, since Bomberman 2 on NES isn't nothing like the original and more so the TG-16 game.
Bomberman was a really bright memory from my childhood that I didn't get to share with many people; seeing this and knowing other people share my adoration for it made me really happy.

He's saying "ボンバーマン!" (i.e. "Bomberman!") It's just not very recognizable to an English speaker because in Japanese they pronounce the "o" with an "oh" sound, the second "b" isn't silent, and the "er" becomes an "ah" sound.
Okay, I've watched RifeXD's Bomberman Journey, and I can definitively state his origin story. He was built by Dr. Mitsumori from the tg16 game, and eventually the doctor, trying to protect his daughter Lisa, converted himself into a cyborg, but the same programming glitch that turned Black Bomber evil got to him. This is actually the second game in the timeline, and once Bomberman escapes, he's able to switch between human and robot where it's convenient for the plot? A lot of the inconsistencies can be explained by him leaving a bomb in the past on Saturn Bomberman and causing a Zelda-style timeline split. Boom! I've pieced together the Bomberman story! But we are NOT including Act Zero.
@@kirbyofthestarsfan I'm grateful Rife made it. Without it, I'd be stuck with nothing but Super Bomberman R to think of as the franchise. I've had a lot of fun trying to play the rest of the games!
_Hark!_ I think I found me some Ancient Treasure... I get some HEAVY GBA vibes from this. (Even looks like one of those GBA remakes like "Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland" or "Metroid: Zero Mission") Probably would of been a fun one too, in another life... I also LOVE this Bomberman design, keeping his Iconic image, yet having the Original Robot origin. (Even though I always preferred BM being sometype of Alien over being a Robot.) From one Artist to another, this was great! (Also glad the lil Dude himself is back in action)
Oh man, this is so cool! I thought that the backstory was kind of weird for a game like Bomberman but after seeing this animation(Esp. the part where Bomberman sees his reflection of him being "human"), I loved it. Great job, man!
This is absolutely beautiful. The most prominent memory of my playing of the Bomberman games has to be Bomberman 64, probably my favourite Bomberman game. This sparks alot of memories of that despite this being for a different game. The pixel-based animation is quite reminiscent of Micha Frar's sprite-based works and it's absolutely amazing. I love Flash-made detailed sprite animations! We don't get enough of these and you making this really shows your artistic range of art styles. It works so incredibly well for a game like Bomberman Origins. What a beautiful love letter to Bomberman and classic 8-bit games of yore. You can see the love and care put into this and this is what is so good about this animation. It's simple, yet tells the prologue of the game respectfully and beautifully. Good work, Jeremy, once again on a cartoon I've looked forward to since I heard about its creation on Tumblr, not so long ago.
It could makes sense why bomberman levels are mazes and he has to use bombs to scape from them If this gets into a real game, it could bring a lot of explanations to bomberman's lore
*Plays this video on the Xbox One, and then searches around UA-cam to find what game this was in, only to use my iPad to read the description.* You did so well that I legit thought this animation was used in an actual game. Not to say that the disappointment of realizing that the animation itself probably isn’t, but is amazing regardless.
Its crazy to look back and see that even 7 years ago TM was crazy talented. Feels criminal that he wouldn't get his big break for another few years after this.
God,I completely love this animation you did! Bomberman was my entire life when I was a kid (and Spyro). I stayed up 3 nights in a row playing Bomberman Generations on GameCube when I was ! Kudos to you, dude!
... For some reason... I found this video extremely good... And it's about Bomberman Origins... I'm just gonna guess it's because Jeremey made it. Seems like a good explanation.
+TerminalMontage [Jeremey] oh geez 16 bit ( thanks for the correction) also is this going to be a series or a sometime thing because I want to surpport that
I like to think that Bomberman managed to escape from the underground and defeat the underground empire (it's the name of the villains from the first game in some versions) after that, instead of becoming a runner, Bomberman remained the same, which ended up becoming discouraged, but then he was happy to have escaped the underground and even defeated the underground empire after that he ended up leaving for unknown places until he found the city of the events of super Bomberman and became the main sheriff there
I like this nice nostalgic touch with pixelized animation and this radio-like voiceover, but keeping it a fluid animation is truly amazing! But seriously, how did you make it this pixelized? Because Flash is verctorbased and not pixel based, have you done every single frame in Photoshop?
I’m sure everyone would love a "Something About Bomberman" video. :)
Please 😭

Of course!

that would be so many explosions
Knowing that so many people, such as yourself, still care about this little guy brings me joy. Thank you for making this.

Does Bomberman Act Zero counts? Because it's based on this kind of story
(a remake. Not a reboot)
i feel that separating the different origin stories into timeline could make it a little easier
I. simply. love it. The animation quality, the artstyle, the music, the narration - superb! Thumbs up for this quality content.

I'm actually hoping to get into animation as well. What program(s) do you use? Last time I used Flash, it was...not the most cooperative.
