Astoundingly beautiful .... jaw dropping. Your videos on cycling the heavenly beautiful Norway should in the Discovery Channel. Tqs a million for such brilliant stuff. Love all of them.
I grew up right by the Hjørundfjord, but now live in Bergen. Miss the fjord and the alps / mountains there. The pictures of the mountains in this video give me good childhood memories, I remembered as a small child often fantasized about how to go up on the steepest sides and peaks of the mountains there. You have a nice youtube channel, thank you Matthew!
Thanks for sharing your childhood memories, really nice to read. I can imagine them majestic mountains allowing a young mind to run wild with ideas. The power of nature that lives with you all your life.
This was a Very good video. Beautiful nature and a great video. Enjoyed this video very Much. Thanks a Lot. Looking foreward to more adventure s from your Channel. ATB Søren
You are absolutely spot on when it comes to the no. 1 fjord in Norway; Hjørundfjorden! In lack of a better word, it's just INSANE. I would also add Tysfjord which features Norway's national mountain, Stetind, Lyngenfjord with the picturesque Lyngen alps and the criminally underrated Efjord . Hard to pick no. 5 among the 1700 named remaining fjords, though...
Wow! Absolutely breathtaking. Funny though, I was just talking about you and your videos this weekend when somebody asked me what would be my first favorite destination if I ever won the lottery. I answered Norway instantly. Now I can't wait for the best gravel roads in Norway since I do particularly like gravel riding, maybe more than I do tarmac roads. Thanks again Matthew for making me dream.
You, sir, make great and interesting videos. I really can't understand how you have only 5500 views at the time I am writing this. How UA-cam makes suggestions to people are of course a mystery, and I don't know how to promote videos on UA-cam. But, if I could help in any way, I would suggest showing it to TV stations. The reason I think like this is that you edit your vidoes in ways that are fun and interesting to watch. Well, I have seen a lot of your videos now, and I still want to see more. That concludes the praise from me this time, looking forward to many more vidoes from you.
Very very thank you!💚 This is incredible relaxation! I hope to get to these places someday on my bike!🚴 By the way, one grandmother, who is 94 years old today, really likes your videos!🙂👍👍👍
This was a(nother) real gem! I'm not a cyclist, I'm a rock climber, so have visited a lot of the places in your videos but probably seen them with slightly different eyes. You've managed to find some real sweet spots in this country :) Is it possible to ask how you've ended up living in Norway..?
Amazing stuff Matthew! I know how difficult it is to shoot and at the same time enjoy the ride. Highly appreciated work. It may be frustrating not to get many views for this hardwork but I am 100% sure you will get there. You will celebrate many many k subs soon 😊
Those last words hit me right in the heart. Years ago, with my brother and a friend, we walked the entire Pyrenees ... an amazing adventure. I always told myself that someday I had to do it again, now I'm not so sure. Those carefree days will never come back....🥲
Hi Matthew! I've really enjoyed your "best of" videos and can't wait for the next one. The only problem is that I need more vacation/time off from work because I want to them all as soon as possible! I also hope that your "best of" gravel roads will feature the gravelroads of Nordmarka, being so accesible for so many people, even though they're not as exotic the gravelroads in far away places!
Thanks so much for your beautiful videos Matthew, inspired me too for my first bikepacking in Norway. Hjørundfjorden - I got there from Ørsta by a new looking road to Store Standal (looks like a part of that was only gravel before) and that valley was one of the highlights of my trip, definitely recommended to those coming to the fjord from south/west. Will have to come back for the other side of the fjord with Norangsdalen though :)
What I think? Wonderful, but where are top 6 to 10? :) Looking forward to see more of this type ... because I'd like to avoid your tunnel - heavy traffic experiences and create trips around those beautiful epic routes ... maybe including your top 5 gravel routes. Any chance to see your routes on komoot?
your videos never disappoint Matthew! I was so happy when I opened my YT homepage and found out you published something new. Thank you for what you are doing. I'd like to ask you if you got any tip on how to train climb living in a flattish land (Finland). I put Norway on my bike trip wishlist and would like to be fit enough for the climbs.
During winter find an indoor bike you can use (local gym etc). Find out or do an FTP test. Then cycle 3-4 mins at 105-110% of your FTP with RPM between 65-85. Do 4-6 intervals with 90s-2min breaks in-between each interval. Do that twice a week for 12 weeks and you'll see a real improvement in powering up them climbs.
Absolutely stunning thanks for sharing… I do so agree with you that some rides, when they happen so perfectly can rarely be repeated so have to be safely tucked away in the memory banks 😊….. I am aiming to finally visit the SW region of your beautiful country this summer and wondered if you’d recommend a particular month as the best?? Thanks again
Hi Matthew! Thank you for posting--these roads and scenery are breathtaking! Where can I find or download the bike routes for these rides? Or do you list the towns in point A to B?
Hi, Routes promoting the videos I make will be available on cyclenorway.com website next year. Unfortunately we have nothing available right now. You will need to plan your own route or use our customer route planning service (see website).
Love the content. Can’t seem to find the old road number 7 by the fjord. I can only find the vei 7 that crosses hardangervidda. Is there a google maps point for the part of the road in the video?
Matt, I'm from Denmark and have cycled quite a bit here in my own country. Your videos give me good reason to cycle in the Norwegian fjords. There are probably good transport options to these places from e.g. by train or bus if I don't want to cycle all the way.? Expect the starting point to be Oslo and arrive there by ship.
Hi Erik, you'll find all the info you need regarding your questions on www.cyclenorway.com. There are many ways to use public transport to skip sections, I'm currently filming a series about that very subject.
Absolutely amazing! inspirational to watch
It’s always a pleasure to watch your videos and listen to your reflections!
This is another level. So beautiful.
Simply outstanding - solid gold!

I've sailed Hjørundfjorden countless times in a small cargo ship. my favourite 😊

@@matthewnorway Thanks! I will tell her, she will be very happy!🙂
Epic Video, very well done!!
Other amazing fjord roads are the 862 along the Fjords of Senja or the 91/E6 next to the Lyngenfjord.
I agree! Road 91 coming up in another video :)

Fjord nr1 is quite beautiful to ride on!
It really is!

Thanks Snørre! Nordmarka is 100% in the top five 😊! We're certainly incredibly lucky to have that as our back garden!
Around the Hardangerfjord is the tough one🚴

Valsøyfjorden🤩🥰
Fabulous riding!
Alan, thanks so much for the incredible kind donation towards World Bicycle Relief 🙏🙏. If you ever come to Oslo I'll buy you a beer!
@@matthewnorway An awesome offer mate - cheers. If they ever let us out of lockdown in Melbourne ...

Had to be Hjørundfjorden. Can see it from my balcony.
Sounds like the perfect balcony!! 😉
Fantastic video as always

Old roads have the best vies 👍but as a cyclist you ride them anyway, they are the cycling lane 👍👍

That was great! Little bit to much effects in the last one though imo. Keep on going! Cheers
I agree. I had to 'borrow' some footage for the last one and thus had to distort it to prevent copyright claims.

stunning video, do you have any suggestion for Fyords near Bergen?
Sognefjorden!
Or Hardanger!
@@matthewnorway thanks buddy cheers
Oh man, I've got to re-write "the list", with Norwegian fjords at the top...
🙌
Are you sure you don't work for the Norwegian tourist board.
No, but one day they'll ring me ;)
@@matthewnorway If they do, you've deserved it. I can't think of any better promotion than these videos and stories
Just a tip on pronouncing "Odda". Not "Uda", the O is more like the "a" in "all".
Thanks, I'm pronouncing it correctly now 👍
Wush you could comment on Lysefjorden. Frafjord. Jøsenfjord og Jøssingfjord. Would be nice❤
