- Hey what is up fam! Today's video is on replacing replacement your thermostat. In this video i also replaced the thermostat housing because of the corrosion that builded on the previous housing. Pretty simple to do. You can do it home. Feel safe knowing you have a brand new thermostat that will last you a while. Like and subscribe.
Dude, you're not supposed to use the gasket. The thermostat seal IS the gasket.
Pretty good Mr JJ M.. thanks
We have the same battery 🙂 thanks for posting this video
Those batteries are crappy but for some reason it's been good to me.
@@JeffersonJosueMorales89 its been good so far for me too
Saved me $150. Thanks!
Quick question. Can a bad thermostat cause your cooling fan not to turn on? Fan on the passenger side of a 99 honda civic.. I changed the 3 sensors the one on the thermostat the 2 below the distributer. I also checked my fuses and everything is good but still the fan doesnt turn on when the ac is turned on. My fan on the driver side turns on just fine.. i tried the alligator clip connected to the cooling fan terminal and directly connected it to my battery and my cooling fan came on so it seems like my fan is fine since it turned on that way? U think a bad thermostat is causing the fan not to turn on?
If the thermostat is stuck closed, then no coolant is flowing past the fan sensor to turn it on. My mechanic set the fan to always on and I drove without a thermostat until I got a replacement (you cannot do this if you live in an extremely cold environment though).
@@rookie1178 so it's my thermostat that needs to be changed which is causing my cooling fan not to turn on? A mechanic told me that even if my thermostat is bad the cooling fan should turn on
@@WavyVaporizers It literally just happened to me. The sensor to turn on the fan is located in the thermostat cover (right where the fan's power is plugged into) and trust me, if the thermostat is not letting the hot coolant out of the engine to turn on the fan, then there is no way your fan is going to turn on.
@@rookie1178 I been changed the sensor on top of the thermostat so it isnt the switch. My car is now overheating without turning on the ac all the sudden. Do I need to change the thermostat housing as well or just the thermostat and the seal?
@@WavyVaporizers did you change your thermostat?
Thx for the vid
Who can tell me wat temp thermostat works in the d16y8
I just put a 170 in mine. I was running a bit hot with a 180 in heavy traffic.
vtec or no?
Yes you can see the solenoid in the video right next to the thermostat house 👍👍
thank 4 idea
@12:30😂
Lol
You made a lot of stuff to remove lol
I dont have heat so any other way
Another way to get heat? Buy an inverter and a heat fan lol
@@JeffersonJosueMorales89 that's an awful idea, I figured being a mechanic you'd suggest fixing it the right way. It's not even difficult to fix the heat in these Hondas......
