Louis I’ve seen that Ribolator before, and it looks petty neat. The problem I seen in a review is that you must have something in all 4 trays around the same weight, or the Rottisserie won’t work. Now, the Rottisserie looks to be well constructed and easy to put together. I need to get one of those in my life. Thanks for sharing
Thank you for watching. I do think it needs to be balanced . The designer said that maybe put a rock on the trays that you don’t use .. I might try just 2 racks across from each other and see how it does. I do think it will get used a bunch around here.
Hey, saw the Rainier beer fridge, loved it. I live in Iowa now, but was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. had fun watching your video! best of wishes.
I purchase the Black Onlyfire Universal High-Temp Resistance Black Coated Steel Charcoal Kettle Rotisserie Ring Kit for Weber 2290 at Amazon and also today I Purchased the rib-o-later and spoke with the owner too. I and looking forward to useing it.
Thank you for watching. That is the rotisserie ring I have and I really like it. Bob is well known around these parts for the bbq comp circuit although he is not as active as he was a few years ago.
This is awesome! Great accessories for the Weber kettle grill. I watched your videos and appreciate what you do. I also have a Pit Boss 5 series pellet smoker and used many of your tips. God bless! -Kevin :)
I usually try to buy a couple of two packs of the babyback ribs. They end up fitting better and also balancing better on the rotisserie. Buffalo wings work great on the ribolator too. I have the Onlyfire ring and rotisserie also, the one that doubles as a pizza oven. I've done a whole turkey with that little motor!
Nice. You can get more on regular rib racks but this way the ribs all get the same amount of heat and they cook flat which makes for a better presentation.
Nice job on the ribs Louis. The ribolator is fun. Next time I use mine, I'll lay some foil on the ss rack when saucing. When the sauce burns onto the ss, it's a mother to remove. I ran the wsm too hot when I used it so learned some things to not do. Nice video bro.
Phil N Florence thank you for watching (big win for Janet’s Tigers last night). That is a excellent tip on lining the trays with foil. I had seen this product a few years back and had forgotten about it until I saw your cook with it and I knew I needed one in my life.
Good video! I use the Only Fire basket for ribs or chicken tenders onlyfire 6042 BBQ Stainless Steel Flat Spit Rotisserie Grill Basket for Any Grill, Fits 1/2" Hexagon, 3/8" Hexagon, 3/8" Square&5/16" Square Rotisserie Spit Rods also for a pork butt pulled pork….
I like that Rotisserie Louis. I seen Phil's video the first time I seen it. I am going to get it in the future. Good lookin Backyard ribs, you can still eat overcooked ribs .😀
Thank you for watching. Great question- you can carefully dump charcoal down each side or stop the rib o lator and lift it out and then have someone else add more charcoal then place the rib o later back in and continue on.
That's pretty cool Louis! I just got a 22 rotisserie ring for Christmas, can't wait to use it. The rib o later looks like a nice attachment. Happy new years buddy!
Hey Louis! That is awesome! I already have the Weber rotisserie kit for the Weber 22" - wonder if the ribolator will work on the Weber spit...cool man!
Thanks for watching. Yes the rib o lator will work on just about any rotisserie. I just saw on FB that someone made long narrow pizzas on theirs- why didn’t I think that up? Haha
Nice LT. I’ve been thinking about getting a rotisserie for my 22. That thing has a ton of potential. I saw PIF put some assorted food on his. Guess I’ll have to pull the trigger. Thanks for the shout out! I’m making your bbq pork today and cooking it in my Ninja Foodi air fryer to see how it does.
GT’s Barbeque and Cuisine thank you for watching. I had seen this a few years back and then I saw PIF using it and had to get one. Hope you and LeAnne had a wonderful Christmas- we need to get together- Gotz some ideas to bounce off you
Thank you for watching. I was surprised how quiet the motor is on this rotisserie vs my char - grill rotisserie motor is. I plan on doing some wings next on this rack system
Great video showing me exactly what I also am planning to do. I was thinking about also picking up a Ribolator for my 22 inch Weber Kettel with Rotisrtie ring. Would be great if you could help me in any way with some questions from your hands on experience using it. Apologies these questions are quite technical so any help whatsoever will be appreciated! 1). One plus year on from your video since you got the Ribolator, how is the Ribolator itself holding up? Do you find that you still use it often? Are the any build quality issues? 2). From the close up in your video, it looked to me like you were using one of the adjustable Ribolator tray models. Can you confirm the size and model of the Ribolator tray you used in this video? 3). Do you happen to remember or do you know what is the longest possible length the Ribolator trays can be adjusted to in inches before the trays will then scrape and hit the inside of the kettle wall / Rotisserie ring when they rotate? FYI, I want to smoke Beef Short Ribs which are quite a bit bigger than baby back ribs. One pair of DINO Beef short ribs (these short ribs are on the larger side) come in at about 9 inches long with this pair of two Dino Beef short ribs side by side also comming in at less than the standard 5 inches width of all Ribolator trays. So, I am hoping if the Ribolator trays just like the one you used can be extended to 18 -19 inches long, with out them hitting the inside walls when they rotate, then this will mean I can then fit two pairs of beef short ribs doubled up twice long ways along each tray to now make 4 beef short ribs in each tray ( for this I need 18 -19 inches by 5 inches of cooking surface in each tray); can therefore smoke upto 16 large DINO Beef short ribs theoretically at any one time all on my 22 inch Weber kettle. Any advice or thoughts from your user experience will be very greatly appreciated and sorry for the detailed questions.
Thank you for watching. I have only used a half a dozen times - should use it more as I really like it. These are adjustable- I will try and get the measurements for you. I think they are worth the money - getting them to balance on each shelf is the key to keep the rotation going smoothly
@@LouisatRshackBBQ Thanks for responding and for the videos. As you said you want to use it more, can you next time you use the Ribolator let me Know what is the longest length you can set the trays before they scrape the inside of the kettle / rotisserie ring once they are rotating. I think you have the adjustable Ribolator tray model, so are you able to get the trays to stretch longer than 17 inches and if so what is the longest. Thanks again and would appreciate any insight. 👆🏼👍🏼👏🏻
Awesome video. I really want this accessory to my weber rotisserie kit. I am also intrigued that you wrapped meat-side up. I've always wondered if that helps keep most of the bark and seasoning on the rib and not left in the juices in the foil without sacrificing too much juiciness/ tenderness? What has been your experience doing it wrapped that way?
The purpose and benefit of using a rotisserie spit is to spin the meat to provide even cooking on all sides of the meat. Also, the spinning motion helps to retain the juices in the meat so they don't drip out. I don't see any benefit of putting meat on the "Ribolator" so that the meat stays level (not spinning,) but simply moving up and down by a constantly changing height as the racks rotate on the Ribolator (Ferris Wheel). The Ribolator is constantly changing the cooking height, which in turn is constantly changing the cooking temperature caused by it's vertical movement, and all the while the meat stays level on the cooking rack. The Ribolator has removed the primary benefit of using a rotisserie which is to spin the meat to retain the juices and provide an even cook on all sides of the meat. I don't understand the benefit of using the "Ribolator". Why not simply use a standard stable rack. Help, can someone, please explain the benefit(s) of using the Ribolator?
@@peteprizzi8508 Thank you for you're response. I'm very glad that you agree with my point of view about the Ribolator. I still find no use or benefit in the Ribolator. Simply smoke three racks of ribs by using a Rib Rack that is able to hold 3 racks of ribs, by standing them up on-end. I suppose one could smoke three different types of meats by designating a certain meat type to each individual rotating rack of the Ribolator. I find the Ribolator to be more of a "Gimic" item for the BBq.
John Manthey I have the ink Bird and love it. The range is Excellent, only problem is, is it graphs only 4 hours of your cook, and if you accidentally get out of the app you lose your graphing then you have to start over from where you bring the app up again, however the unit itself keeps the temp without the app.
MeatCranium BBQ AND REVIEW thank you. I’m looking for a really accurate temp probe in the $50 range that I can at least measure two meats and a temp probe for the cabinet.
Yes, spit should be parallel to char baskets. Also, only one char basket is needed. There will be plenty of indirect heat and rotisserie cooking is normally done with heat on one side only to better manage exposure to direct infrared heat from the charcoal.
Nice karate moves LT. Curious why you chose that rotisserie ring over the Weber model? Price? You know I love my rotisserie and you’re gonna love it too! Happy New Year 🎆
Thank you for watching- I ain’t no Samurai like you are but I got a couple of moves 😂. I went with this onlyfire simply because it was cheaper than the Weber brand one. I am impressed with how well this fits and runs.
I called my daughter up in NC and she is sending me one , and also a 5.0 rotisserie motor . I looked it up , and it can move up to 20 lbs . Thank you Luis , God Bless 👍🔥 .
John Manthey thank you for watching. I do see that onlyfire has a rotisserie ring for a 18” kettle- the only issue is a kettle and a WSM have different lid lips and you may just have to balance it on a WSM but it should work.

John Knapp thank you for watching. I tried to keep the kettle right around 270. For these I did 3 hours then wrapped for 1 hour then 1/2 hour unwrapped and glazed with sauce- next time I probably won’t wrap and just probe for tenderness at 4 hour mark.
@@LouisatRshackBBQ looks great...would you glaze and then put right back on the trays for the last period of time? Also, how easy is the set up? Just attached the trays onto the ring/rotisserie? We have bought the rotis and trays
Can You can Rig that up for U. D . S. also ? 8 . 1 inch pork steaks would Work also on that thing . I would be in heaven if that would work on a 50 Gallon Drum smoker.
Thank you for watching. Depending on the lip of your drum smoker - a canjun bandit rotisserie or an only fire rotisserie might work. A Weber kettle is the same dimensions as a drum smoker but the drums tend to have a thick rolled lip which on most makes it difficult to line up a kettle lid. The rib o lator attaches to any 22” spit rod.
