From an old, but experienced Para (Rhodesia 1976-79), stay safe and be proud of what you HAVE achieved, and WILL achieve. Stand up, hook up, check equipment! It never leaves you. Keep your heads down 🇬🇧💪🙏
I miss Rhodesia!
I miss the Federation!
They were great days!!
Rhodesia really was a beautiful nation
anything achieved is for the bankers, not for the people
"I take pride in the Airborne... I never let it down!"

Anyone who has the guts to jump out of an airplane has my respect.
Paratroopers in the US have a great song. It's called Blood Upon the Risers(Gory Gory What A Hell Of A Way To Die), posted below, im sure the UK has some good ones too.
[Verse 1]
He was just a rookie trooper and he surely shook with fright,
He checked off his equipment and made sure his pack was tight;
He had to sit and listen to those awful engines roar,
You ain't gonna jump no more
[Chorus]
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
He ain't gonna jump no more
[Verse 2]
"Is everybody happy?" cried the Sergeant looking up,
Our hero feebly answered, "yes" and then they stood him up;
He jumped into the icy blast, his static line unhooked,
And he ain't gonna jump no more
[Chorus]
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
He ain't gonna jump no more
[Verse 3]
He counted long, he counted loud, he waited for the shock,
He felt the wind, he felt the cold, he felt the awful drop,
The silk from his reserves spilled out, and wrapped around his legs,
And he ain't gonna jump no more
[Chorus]
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
He ain't gonna jump no more
[Verse 4]
The risers swung around his neck, connectors cracked his dome,
Suspension lines were tied in knots around his skinny bones;
The canopy became his shroud; he hurtled to the ground.
And he ain't gonna jump no more
[Chorus]
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
He ain't gonna jump no more
[Verse 5]
The days he'd lived and loved and laughed kept running through his mind,
He thought about the girl back home, the one he'd left behind;
He thought about the medic corps, and wondered what they'd find,
And he ain't gonna jump no more
[Chorus]
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
He ain't gonna jump no more
[Verse 6]
The ambulance was on the spot, the jeeps were running wild,
The medics jumped and screamed with glee, they rolled their sleeves and smiled,
For it had been a week or more since last a 'chute had failed,
And he ain't gonna jump no more
[Chorus]
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
He ain't gonna jump no more
[Verse 7]
He hit the ground, the sound was "SPLAT", his blood went spurting high;
His comrades, they were heard to say "a hell of a way to die!"
He lay there, rolling 'round in the welter of his gore,
And he ain't gonna jump no more
[Chorus]
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
He ain't gonna jump no more
[Verse 8]
There was blood upon the risers, there were brains upon the chute,
Intestines were a-dangling from his paratroopers suit,
He was a mess, they picked him up, and poured him from his boots,
And he ain't gonna jump no more
[Chorus]
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
He ain't gonna jump no more
Search 'Green on', thats the parachute regiment one
@@gunnyhighway4422 thanks ill look it up
This was taken from a Royal Air Force song and later a Parachute Regiment song years before the USA made their version.
@@robshirewood5060 Originally it was RFC.
@@rhannay39 You are correct, Royal Flying Corps before they and the RNAS Royal Naval Air Service (later Fleet Air Arm and RNAS) joined to become the RAF Royal Air Force in 1918, often wondered if the RN Royal Navy had their own version. Thanks stay safe
Well done chaps 🇬🇧👍
Congratulations to everyone for all your hard work! Hip Hip Hooray, Hip Hip Hooray, Hip Hip Hooray 🍺🍺
Whilst congratulations are due to them all ... they aren't Paras until they've got the all important little blue badge on their upper right arm.
Notwithstanding that they've joined the finest Regiment in the British Army so well done.
They’re not real Paras, it’s a complete separate course for starters Walter.
@@jjftv949 errmmm they’re still penguins, as they ain’t got no wings. Green lanyards = gungy grungy three. Blue lanyards = immaculate blue. Got to do brize yet to be proper paras. Then they’ll have crow cannons to fish out the 7.62 mm
I thought the lads passed out with there wings again like we did.
Passports are part of the kit now for these ceremonial soldiers
Do they earn their wings at Battalion now ? I remember the old 1983 program The Paras showing them doing Parachute training before the pass out parade
I remember that being on TV.
@@booldawg can still watch it on BBC iPlayer
Rem passing off in front of family special time
Great stuff congratulations to all.
When do they learn to parachute jump to get their wings, is it before or when they get to their battalions?
They don't, the MOD can't afford it they are basically fast infantry blokes who hate everyone else
It use to be after basic training before joining a Battalion. However, that was in the 80’s when I was at BZN.
After passing out, they go to Brize for that before joining battalions. Seems an arse about face way of doing it.
Congratulations Gentlemen
Well done to you all. Good luck in the future and may the Angels in Heaven sit on your wings watching and protecting you at all cost. Thank you all for the service you give to our Great country 🇬🇧.
Hell yeah.Airborne!!!
Are these beret badge positions allowed? They used to be extremely strict where the badge was positioned.
That's the last time they will have a decent looking beret and march in step 👍🏻
Penguins*. How long will it be until their battalions pay for their training at Brize Norton?
Great timing!
Fair play to em
Now that's ajiffsniff.
Fair play lads
Nice one!.
He shouldn’t be calling them Joe now they have passed out. They stop calling them that the moment they get their Red Beret.
Really , wait until they go to battalion
Hello from Ukraine
Здрастуйте
Hello Ukraine. You might be seeing these guys in person soon 🙂 the UK has your back
@@1IbramGaunt they need to keep us out from it
These guys are on Pegasus company great series
I dont know whats happened to the No2 they look awfull Good effort guys all the best
Airborne Brotherhood ready for anything
And then they adapt their berets akin to a flannel…
I'm more interested in the doggo 🐶 What a good boiii! Is it a newfie?
Why weren't the newest recruits wearing their wings?
Doesn't seem right at all, Paras passing out without their wings! How long's that been going on?
Why are they not wearing their wings ? Do they now to go to their battalions and then go to Brize.
They don't get wings now , can't afford fuel for the Hercs
They’ll get them in Battalion mate.
@@simoncampbell3144 ..jeeesss...can.t afford a few tubs off fuel..and boris blows billions..on f... all....keep safe chaps
Smart lads. But in my day we passed out with wings up ie entered The factory as pond life passed out as fully fledged paratroopers! That was back in 1988.
And also no2 dress sleeves weren't nearly over your knuckles like some in the clip, shocking...where have the decent tailors gone!
@@Legionnaire7777 AGREED LOL.
In those days the Airborne forces depot
Paras means "the best".
good lads the best
Shout out to the MPCT lads
Is basic training the same for everyone (phase 1) and then you specialize with phase 2?
It's the same syllabus but the 'method of delivery' and required outputs are different (higher).
@@JammyDodger45 thank you.
paras have their own para depot thing specialized around p company and they do more miles tabbing than other infantry regs
Hopefully they teach them to recognise the difference between a fire fight and a civil rights march
GO ON BOYS! Your uniform looks like the dream and I love the dress suit if that’s what it’s called?
They are the Number 2 Dress, used for formal events
Number 2s
Same uniform as other infantry only difference is wings patch and barrett
@@unloadedshots thank you!
@@itzakz2269 cheers!
Are the lads allocated a batallion, or do they choose?
Old recruits oldest I seen back in 1980 was 21
Surely you mean Melville barracks Colchester home of Paras
How the hell can they be paras with no wings, still penquins.
💯💯💯
Is that the naughty pony that eats the Queen’s bouquet?
Just in time for World War III
With the exception of our Almighty Creator, I can think of no force greater than a united European and English speaking nations' military; especially our Special Forces.
There are, however, those without honor who fear and despise our abilities.
Hold fast to our ideals.
Beware of our enemies within.
No Parachute brevets "wings"??
Israel will be pleased with your sacrifice
Are you ready for a winter drop into Eastern Europe?
BZ Gentlemen
Still got their jumps training to do yet.. 😉
Small group
Reg reg reg
What decides whether they go to 3 or 4 para?
4 para is a reserve battalion so none of these lads would’ve gone to 4 para
Ready for deployment... Let's hope not
Welcome to the new woke, diverse, social justice Army […] Gods help us all?!
yeah look, the japanese is decent and wonderful people these days, yeah send fnh mk22 and deploy here range 30 meters west of position negative 27 decimal 1907895 by 151 point 2697699, report when on, standby, might need 5 magazine and about 50,000 rounds but its only .22, so be real cheap
Why not wearing there wings if going to there battalions
🤔 Because they've not done their Jumps course yet!
Sweet!! the guardroom needs cleaning
Paras without even jumping out of an aircraft , yeah right , what a joke the army is now
👍🏻
Definitely no snowflakes in the Paras!
Straight to the Eastern border lads.
to bad uk dont accept foreigners l would join straight paras or royal marines
We do.
It just depends upon what flavour 'foreigner' you are.
@@berserker6818- unfortunately not.
Although there are thousands of 1st/2nd generation Polish Brits in our military and tens of thousands of Poles who fought along side us in WW2 we still require you to have lived here for 5yrs first.
🤷🏻♂️
Przepraszam
@@berserker6818 lol you say it like it's easy, out of 50 guys starting in depot for para training maybe only 14 of the originals will pass out into regiment it's not for everyone paras and royal marines have a high attrition rate
I hope they've all been on the 'LQBGT BLM MOT and TAX' course? and God forbid any one of their training staff SHOUTED or BULLIED them in any way, really must hurt or offend the poor darlings these day? I didn't see any females either.....stiff letter to my MP on the way!!
Goodness civilian killers
Reshape your berets before you join the regiment
congrats on the little pony passing out
AATW.... except wtf is up with the random pony?
That is the depot mascot
"HELLS BARRACKS" 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
*HELLES BARRACKS*
POOR POOR Journalism
Why is there a pony behind them?
Because if it was ahead of them they'd have to walk through its 💩 in their shiny boots.
penguins
So... we're not talking about that random dapper pony? ... Ok.
@Ernsthaft Unus - Isn't he great! I know one of the British Army regiments has a *goat* as a mascot!
Are they trained the same as those who killed unarmed civilians in Yemen and Belfast?
Bore off
Those lads had petrol bombs thrown at them, were shot at and were terrified. There was innocent people killed unfortunately. There was innocent civilians killed in France, Holland, Belgium, Denmark and Norway. These guys are heroes in those countries though.
No - it’s a different rifle now.
Israel thanks you for your contribution lmao Christ imagine being British lol
Err ... you are British.
Weirdo.
Wow, what disappointing paratroopers.
What's disappointing you about them?
Were you hoping to see them in their underwear as opposed to dressed?
Put that pony down, only one black bloke, why so few to 2para?
Well done but just 21 and a single Hawk trainer for the fly past? Somehow I don't think Putin is going to lose any sleep!
That wasn't a fly past ,it was a jet heading back to RAF Leeming
@@simoncampbell3144 You mean the RAF have two jets???
