My therapist would not even allow me to become a victim of child sexual molestation by my stepfather. He would not allow me to blame my mother for not intervening. He was remarkably warm and compassionate but he told me I was an adult now and whoever caused my problems, they were my problems and I was responsible for dealing with them. From there on we worked on me, my anxieties and my anger. At 80 years old I can say I have lived a blessed life thanks to him.
Sounds like you had a great therapist! A lot of people today have the victim mentality. No family is perfect, and there comes a time in life when we have to take responsibility for who we are instead of blaming everyone and everything for our problems. Thank you for your comment:)

Good lord, even when I was a 9-year-old on hyper meds, when people found me irritating in school, Girl Scout Camp, ballet class, and other completely disparate groups of people, it occurred to me that I must be doing _something_ wrong, even if I couldn't figure out what it was.

As a PR specialist and a survivor of 2 narc relationships, I completely agree with H.G.'s views about the futility of trying to rehab La Markle's image/reputation.
The narc's anxiety, need for control, unwillingness to take advice , to behave consistently and perform other rehabilitative behaviors makes any PR effort "a damp squib". This tarnishes the reputation and credibility of the PR adviser. Best to give such a prospective client a wide berth!
Solve it by 1-getting that ridiculous "title" stripped, 2-get her away from Harry FOR GOOD, & expose that there ARE NO "royal" CHILDREN BORN OF HER BODY.

The reason there was acceptance when this one married the other one was because she was largely unknown. Most people are willing to give the benefit of a doubt to those unknown. She was "known" in the U.S. if one watched "Suits", on which she played a small role. Once she was fully in the public eye, opinions began to be formed. Unfortunately for this one's wife, she presented herself badly. It's usually obvious when one's public facade is just that, a facade. Inauthentic. Forced. Those who worked behind the scenes, customarily very discreet, cried out when treated ill. One takes note when those who provide service cry out because their cries represent reality. The sharp incongruity is what produced the flood of disapproval. You can't erase that.

These people have to know there is no way they are salvaging that woman. They must be in it just to pocket the money and carry on their merry way.

If anyone would bother to ask this non PR expert what it would take to restore their image, it is called repentance. Public repentance for all the trash they threw at their respective families. "We were wrong. We recant everything we said. We will return money earned from the book Spare and donate it to the King's charities. We will cease suing the government for IPP status. We will go and visit her father with the children together and will publicly say we are sorry. We will go together to the King, Queen, William and Katharine with the children to say we are sorry." And then go away for an extended period of time. But, as HG said, she won't do it, because she is the victim. So my opinion of them will not change.
