The person who needs a demon or hellcat is the person that wants more then 750hp. 392 doesn't last long with more 10lbs of boost. Motor just doesn't have the rotating assembly Ford's and Chevy's have. I was expecting more mph then 117 but I'm sure he's keeping the boost low which is smart.
You cant boost a stock cat to hellcat speeds and expect it to live for very long.. weak ringlands etc.. this is a known fact.. by time you pay for supercharger etc.. and a built shortblock .. should have got a hellcat..

Andreux R/T I drove my dads srt scatpack shaker it’s a stock 2016 and I struggled to go less than 160 mph on the freeway lol these cars are nuts basically one level below the hellcat stock

Dodge knows what it did with the production of both the hellcat version & 392 (6.4) version vehicles, yeah a hellcat comes supercharged with a 6.2L & yeah the 392s are cheaper but if you add a supercharger with the right tune & well bult motor, it’s just a different kind of monster

As a new scatpack owner I'm pleased to know what it's capable of. Can't wait to start major mods, all the minor mods are complete (thermostat, mid muffler delete, throttle body and intake). Forced induction is coming soon
I felt the same I keep trading up then after the scat pack I'm ready to go back to Corvette ....I'm not knocking the scatty I love my Challenger .. but the new vetts are unbelievable..

@@Theedd9991 If high HP is your goal though this is probably the better path. You can build the 6.4 once to be able to handle 1000+ but with a Hellcat you have to buy the vehicle and then swap internals, supercharger etc.
It’s only 10k if you do it yourself.

DO IT! lol, I love driving mine, I have it straight piped and reso deleted... I experienced a lost of torque on the low end but it seems to be in the high rpm's now... the sound is amazing lol. You'll love the scat pack... welcome to the speed boat family lol.

That Scat sounds pissed off! Nice build on his part and he drives it like he stole it haha. His cars first gear is a lower gear ratio so it will not bog down like our Hellcats.

Thats main reason hellcat are no good at low. Speeds or digs. Gears wrong and need a tire. A good bolt on ls1 Ta will give a hell cat a good run and pull for about 2 cars from at 60 i know cuz ive done with. But around 110-115 that fucking cat was gone . But when i race a scatpack they hang but dont usually pull cuz im ls6 fbody. But that hellcat is something serious . But i love how that scat sounds

That is why it is not so easy to beat factory power. 11.7 is only about 0.7 faster than a NA 392. Not worth it for that little gain IMO

I agree, def fun, if you haven't just beware that straight piping and a reso delete will cause you to lose torque on the low end as it will move to the higher rpm's... I def felt it instantly in my Scat Pack but get on the throttle and the low end becomes irrelevant.

At 620 whp it would not beat a hellcat on the 1/4. Stock hellcats make 640-675 whp stock plus over 610 tq to the wheels. Tq and power under the curve is what makes you et fast as longer as you don’t spin and hook.

I would imagine a scat pack with a super charger would be faster then a hell cat since a hell cat is a 6.2 and a scat pack is a 6.4 plus you can get into a low mileage scat pack for 30k less then a hell cat
6.4s cant handle boost for shit you put a procharger on a stock scat its gonna blow you have to a lot of machinery to the motor Your gonna put just as much money into the scat then is u were to buy a cat

I was impressed until I heard $20,000 to run an 11.7 second 1/4mi. @ 117mph. Well, at least it sound good.
Lawrence Barker Jr No amount of reasonable power can make up for the fact that it’s 4200lb car that’s as aerodynamic as a brick.
That and $35-40k TOPS for a new Scat still puts you under Hellcat pricing. You won't have a warranty is the big drawback though.
There's no way. That's gotta be driver error. My 15 scatpack A8 ran consistent 12.3/12.4s
A brand new stock NA Scat Pack 1320 will run 11.7...
It's a manual so it's hard enough to drive, try launching a manual supercharged v8 car when you have to take off quick.

What business is that with that low ass mph. Just a few bolt on's and guys are going 115-116mph. Motors can't take boost that's the real problem. Everyone that goes over 8lbs or more regrets it not long after.
