If the tanker was moving, she would have displayed navigation lights - red on port side, green on starboard, and two white range lights fore and aft. It's very distinctive, and something to look for when radar isn't giving information you need. Sailing near these behemoths is also a case for an AIS receiver, which will give you their course, speed, and closest approach. Good call on timing for the mooring ball. Ordinarily, best time to depart for Avalon would be late morning, so you can sail at least part of the way. Nice job picking up the mooring in Two Harbors.
Nice job on the mooring, and hats off to the ladies for sticking with it, despite the long hours at sea and sea sickness! Beautiful cinematography with the drone too! I did a couple triathlons there in Catalina. Nice place to chill Have fun!
That’s so cool. Amber runs as well. Tough mudders, Spartans. All of it. When I got out of the Corps I told myself I wouldn’t ever run again unless I had to…🤣. Running now would destroy me! Thanks - catching a drone at sea is harder than it looks
@@RameyFamily Still do the Spartans, but running sucks. Too boring. CrossFit is where it's at. Never been healthier. By the way, is that a scopolamine patch your using or something naturopathic? Do you get groggy with it? Getting ready to do a sail from Tampa to St. Augustine next week and haven't sailed in a few years. Wondering if my sea legs will be rusty.
Great trip, nice boat, good company. Does the crew know that higher up and in the air is the best place to avoid getting sick? Its counter intuitive, but airy cockpit or deck, gazing at horizon is the cure. Enjoy matey : )
@@RameyFamily Your walking the piers and slips???? I’m jealous as hell. That world was mine and professional for over 27 years. I’m fresh water now, not salt, and it was year round in warm sea water, doing everything from fellow captain license instruction. Sales. Brokerage, Racing. Rigging, Olympics and was a USYRU Judge when that was the ruling body. And so much more everyone wonders why I don’t write a book… the point was. My crew deck decoration, ended up being my wife and we both couldn’t wait to get to work each morning. So yes, I do have a good eye noticing the design of your elite, Alberg 30’, but it’s more of an experienced eye. Blue water sailing and fishing. Yes it was a horrible way to make a living.
That’s so cool. I’m selling my Alberg. These videos are about a year behind. I’m off to a bigger boat. I was anchored next to that dory off of little scorpion anchorage off the Santa Cruz island
Oct 15th 2023 lol All my videos are one year behind almost to the day. I usually have about 12-15 videos already made and and they are scheduled to go public every other Saturday

You are absolutely right!
Nice video. That mooring thing get's a little easier every time. Always easier before the wind picks up, though.
@@jamesbutler181 thank you! I was surprised at how much easier it was than what I was making it out to be

Scopolamine
It’s dope, side effects are possible but on the rare side
Sometimes it’s just dry mouth.

Thank you for keeping the video simple
Thanks
Looks like a “Carl Alberg” design sloop… or at least a design influenced by Alberg.
That’s a good eye! It’s an Alberg 30
@@RameyFamily sold Cape Dorys right up till their fold or whatever..talk about a design mated with quality. Dream Vessels.
A few videos ago I anchored next to a cape dory
It was gorgeous
