Series idea: "Past. Present. Future." Start out building small starting cities all across a map, and then slowly build them up over time. Some will grow to become megacities if they have good connections to rail/water/highway, while others remain rural historic towns. It would be neat since you often keep historical elements alive in your cities.
You could do an England theme with famous universities like Cambridge or Oxford university. Also, you could do a Venice themed map as it is all on water, you just have to make loads of canals
Can you do a British theme? Rik4000 has a bunch of amazing stuff on the workshop, and British coastal towns have a distinctly fantastic look that's really decently represented too. If not, I'm in favour of doing an extremely heavily modded run of some variation, preferably using old European buildings of some style- soviet would be awesome if used sparingly. Also, do loads of farms, like loads and loads of them all over the landscape. Or don't do any of these things, but I think they'd definitely be something fresh, and they're what I'd like to see.
IIRC, Macwelshman has a great collection of British assets, so James could benefit from using his on top, although the asset count could mess up the gameplay.
Do a New-England style city with lots of sprawling forests full of red autumn trees. Pres did a city called New Windsor, it looks beautiful, do something like that for the Campus series.
James at 56:34 - "Oh no don't put it there that's a lot of traffic...." James at 56:54 (literally 20 seconds later) - "Oh this is a perfect spot for it" Don't you ever change Semaj
I like the idea as a canal based city With loads of bike a pedestrian pathways. Main roads going around the edge of the city and small roads in the middle. Maybe ban cars in the centre like one of your challenges.
I think you should try a map with a tuscany-ish vibe, with smooth hills, plateaus, woods and this kind of things. Probably i'm not really clear but to get what i mean you definitely shold watch some photos.
You should use the new campus DLC maps! The devs did a really good job on them; the mountains are way better looking than previous maps. My favorites are Roslyn Peninsula and Marin Bay.
@@two-face1041 : Yeah, let's hurry up and start a boring series like that Parklife one or the stupid European city. This has been his best city since Sedona and, just based on how he's laying out the University, and how little really came in the DLC, the next city is going to be pretty boring.
after the univeristy dlc came out i cannot stop waiting for these videos. im here from your sims channel and you revived cities for me. PLEASE START A NEW ONE SO I CAN SEE HOW YOU WORK YOUR CITY PLANNING MAGIC. also, do a beachy/coastal theme!
I've recently fallen in love with a gorgeous map "Celtic Shores" - no islands but beautifully decorated and just so much terrain detail that it encourages you to work with.
All these people wanting winter cities boring as.....Do a tropical island archipelago from the workshop!!! with differnt campuses on the islands and use the ferries to get between them!! Tropical islands is also the kind of map you havent done yet :)
here is a map idea: The Netherlands. And not the Netherlands that is fully drained, but one with lakes and marshes that are readily flooded by the sea and you actually have to drain the land and make it usable for building. So the idea is, you need to make your own land to expand your city.
I like to build pedestrian paths that bridge over roads, especially from places like train stations/subway stops to major spots like touristy areas. Maybe try that for the campus area so people never have to stop walking even when crossing the road
Flabaliki on episode one of a new city: "Oh no the street is half a millimeter uneven lets spend 20 minutes fixing it!!!!!!" Flabaliki on 30+ episode of a city: "I mean the subway goes right through the walkway tunnel but I guess its alright..."
I’d love to see a well done map from the workshop for the next season. Tropical or deciduous but with many water connections and rivers to build cities on. One big central city with smaller towns on he outskirts.
Ideas for the next map: A big inland sea? Or an estuary, I don't think I've seen you do anything like that. Maybe something with one massive island thats connected by no roads (but the majority of the city is on the coast)?
Would be nice maybe to see a map with a lot of lakes. Basically flat and a lot of lakes. Would leave space for large universities but make the geography interesting enough to work around.
Could definetly be both very different, but also very cool to see you use a tropical map of a type, with a tropical theme, I mean haven't seen you do that before? Right? Good? No?
There’s a map that was featured on the workshop recently that looks gorgeous called The Northern Province made by Double V. It’s kind of an island, with loads of coastline and outreaching islands. I think it would be great for a campus video series.
I’d love a “college town” kind of aesthetic in the next city to go along with campus. Don’t know if that’s a term in Australia but in the US it’s cities or big towns like Boston that are very culturally structured around the presence of a lot of colleges.
For your next city you could use an element from those challenges like have a neighborhood or small town based on one winding road and/or islands mostly cut of from the rest of the city.
An island map is the only map you haven’t done yet. It doesn’t have to be multiple islands. Just maybe a large area of land with islands on the coast for the next series
First time to comment but I've been following you for ages, just so you know. I can't wait for you to get started on the campus DLC on a brand new map - might I suggest Los Mochis? I'll definitely watch whatever you decide to go for. :))
You should still check out that no zoning mod I talked about. Honestly, it works flawlessly and it is not the one you were thinking about I'm sure. Literally a toggle button in the courner and its so easy and simple.
And for a map, check out Revelstoke. Not made with the new update in mind (but there aren't any new map features with universities). It's really cool. Has a really awesome custom hydro power plant (though it's a little glitched, is filled with ground until you unlock that part of the map). Been playing on it myself and been enjoying it quite a bit.
I love your videos. Calling out to some other cities players, tunnels irl aren't the best cause they've been known to be directly related to crimes. If realism is your goal then you could build a super cool bridge and path network. But if not your content is still amazing!

That's what I'm doing now, it's pretty fun.
Do a snow map so you have to deal with heated pipes and road clearing with snow dumps.
I agree, a university nestled on top a of snowy mountain sounds very cool to me.
Yes I love building on a snow map
Base the university on Cornell University in upstate NY
You could do an England theme with famous universities like Cambridge or Oxford university. Also, you could do a Venice themed map as it is all on water, you just have to make loads of canals
Dirtroit Institute of Real-world Technology aka DIRT
Rename it DIRT Flabaliki!
I dare you!
I think Research is more plausible than Real-World but I like it!
Isn't the Facility also called DIRT? Maybe a bit redundant..?
Railway, sounds more appropriate for a transport focused game
@@Fraek1992 Maybe it's a Facility-sponsored university.

I totally agree with you
Reminds me of the City Intercourse, with ICU
"Why would a subway not connect to the airport".
Well, the city of Prague has been pondering that question for decades...
We wonder about that as well in Buenos Aires.
kaehvogel Washington DC is just connecting to One of the two major airports (but it is connected to the smaller airport)
We didn’t have one until we had Olympics a few years ago
Use Campus DLC maps for next city
James at 56:34 - "Oh no don't put it there that's a lot of traffic...."
James at 56:54 (literally 20 seconds later) - "Oh this is a perfect spot for it"
Don't you ever change Semaj
I just said there was a lot of traffic, not that I didn't want to put it there haha
There's a map called 'Norwegian Fjords' which would be interesting to see with a city
use a tropical style map for the next city, youll get the islands you want and also its just a cool environment that you havent built a city in yet
I'm so happy that you changed it to a trade school ^.^
I like the idea as a canal based city With loads of bike a pedestrian pathways. Main roads going around the edge of the city and small roads in the middle. Maybe ban cars in the centre like one of your challenges.
Use a campus dlc map! An island-based city would be cool, but I don't think it would work well for a university
Me:Imma learn for the test tommorow
*1 notification*
Me:Bruh leave me alone
*Flabaliki posted a vid*

ANDREITATU same lol
I really like the idea of a coast line with Islands for the next series!
I would like to see a snow map build.
Dystopian mega city for the next season!

Charles Anthony no I don’t think we should go to 50

Appalachian Mountains would be wonderful
There's a boardwalk mod (or it may be in the game) that Sam Bur uses, you may like that for the pedestrian bridge over the river.
Winter style next or southeastern US city
All these people wanting winter cities boring as.....Do a tropical island archipelago from the workshop!!! with differnt campuses on the islands and use the ferries to get between them!!
Tropical islands is also the kind of map you havent done yet :)
You should name the school- Dirtroit (sp??) Institute of Research and Technology, DIRT for short.....
You should use the archipelago map!
I love that since it's a japanese map you can hear the cicadas, so much attention to detail!
I'd love to see a winter themed city, or a city that at least gets snow every now and then so that you'd have to deal with heating and snow plows etc.
here is a map idea: The Netherlands. And not the Netherlands that is fully drained, but one with lakes and marshes that are readily flooded by the sea and you actually have to drain the land and make it usable for building. So the idea is, you need to make your own land to expand your city.
Do a snow map with disasters ❄️
Use a Dutch map where you build parts of the city below sea level
"This road *surely* we can get to..." *clicks on Shirley Street* 40:28
An Island map sounds great! If there's bigger islands you could have a dedicated university island!
In the next City make use of the Campus DLC and use either a Snow Map or a Map from the Campus DLC.
Do a map based on Sydney or Melbourne!
for the next city maybe a map with a couple of big islands and a really rich, educated and posh citt with beautifully manicured roads, buildings etc.
I like to build pedestrian paths that bridge over roads, especially from places like train stations/subway stops to major spots like touristy areas. Maybe try that for the campus area so people never have to stop walking even when crossing the road
I like the idea of coastal islands for the next map!
Yeah, I hear DrawWithJazza. You sound very like Jazza.

for the next season why don't you do an austrailian style
but australia isnt real
It's spelled Austria.
@@JoshuaHere HE SAID Australia
There is no country that is named Australia, they must mean Austria.

The printing press could use the other product in the storage since the paper is right there.
For the next city I want a tropical island map :p with a big Island where you build the main city, and many smaller ones to build fun stuff on
Joining the to the airport to the pink line was a much better idea!!
When you do your next city for the campuses, it would be cool to see you build three rivaling cities with their own university each.
Ideas for the next map:

Please remember to do a destroying the city with natural disasters episode I know you probably didn't forget but just had to say just in case you had
The Campus DLC maps are actually pretty good. I am currently beginning a city with the Murky Coast map that comes with the DLC.
Could definetly be both very different, but also very cool to see you use a tropical map of a type, with a tropical theme, I mean haven't seen you do that before?

40:28 "'Cause this road 'Shirley' could get to .."
Yeah.. I know he said "surely" but it almost matches the name of the street!
Maybe something where you can have a mountain as a big part of the city? Like, build around and on it?

at 45:25 the people started piling into the roundabout when there was still animals still chilling in the road oml
For your next city you could use an element from those challenges like have a neighborhood or small town based on one winding road and/or islands mostly cut of from the rest of the city.
Do a swedish themed city with alot of smaller towns, makes alot of trains realistic
Like others said, you should try to use the Campus DLC maps, maybe with an old town theme to match one of the campus types!
An island map is the only map you haven’t done yet. It doesn’t have to be multiple islands. Just maybe a large area of land with islands on the coast for the next series

Rhinestone island is a very nice map:)
That long path under the highway, sweet. I can already smell the weed and feel this wondeful feeling of insecurity.

i think you should use the Kitakyushu map next .. mountains and islands .. challenge yourself hahaha
I would like the shipyard over at the international cargo station
If you don't use one of the Campus DLC maps, you should do a beachy theme.
Delta range 2! May the second golden age of Jamestown (season 3 city) begin!
You should do a New Zealand themed map, very mountainous but also has plains and a large coast line.
i'd say have a little throwback, play on delta range v2 😅
use snow in the next map!!! maybe a mountainous/forest region would be good. lots of colleges exist in woodsy areas around me (new england area)
Love the university dlc its the only reason im watching people play cities skylines rn
use the Sydney map on the workshop, was gonna suggest Melbourne but not sure that one is on the workshop.

You should do a Caribbean style for the campus DLC. Lots of American universities in the Caribbean that help fuel the local economies (e.g. Grenada).
I think a great challenge would be a very mountainous map.
Kinsley Kansas Map On Work Shop
Do the St. Petersburg Map on the workshop!!
Use the 27 islands map. That would be a chalenge!

Could you build in your next city a roundabout made out of roundabouts?
Maybe for the next city you can do a "double" city , with an old european part and a new modern part
Use workshop map!! And you should also add natural disasters idk, I just think it would be another challenge
You should do a map with a map with a ton of lakes
You should get the underground powerlines from the steam workshop
Arctic, islands like tropical , etc
Use a Sidney map or mountain map for next city
how did you get the whole map?
3:07 okay I want to play now thanks bye!
