I e done a few MaxxForce, but haven’t actually changed injectors on a Cummins yet. I may have one coming up soon. This’ll give me an idea of what it is. Thanks for that.
Thank you for the video. I see that you started the motor with the valve cover off. The guy that put my injectors in did the same thing and oil sprayed everywhere like the Beverly Hillbillies!!! Is the indicative that he did not have something seated correctly? Also is there a special tool that must be used to set the valves to a particular measurement? I am just needing a little insight. We replaced all six and now I have 2 that are missing (1 and 5). At this point I can't even get it to a shop if I wanted too.
From India , can someone tell us about Cummins N14 actuator ... We are facing RPM, humming & frequency issues, Engine stop immediately after starting... The Indian version of N14 Cummins is looks different
actually you want to pop the injector into the hole if you rotate it the orings could get cut just give it a good tap down and itll seat good. Make sure your orings are coated in engine oil
What exactly do you mean by tune-up? Adjusting the overhead? Traditionally a tune-up has meant replacing the ignition condenser, adjusting or replacing the points, cleaning and gapping the spark plugs and replacing plug wires, coil, cap and rotor as necessary. Almost none of this is required in modern gasoline engines, but people still say "it needs a tune-up." And none of it applies to a diesels, so I'm just curious what your mechanic meant by saying he did a "tune-up" and charging you an extra $200.
Great breakdown that actually gives good detail! Thank you
Glad it was helpful! thank u
Great tutorial. Ive got a N14 also and this was very helpful to know in the event if I should come across with the same problem. Thank You very much
Great to hear!
I have a N14. Where is a good place to buy injectors an what’s a idea price range for them
This is a GREAT video! So real. So honest. Thanks!
Great video from the hands of a pro. Also it looks like a beautiful day
Thanks for sharing the info!
Do the injectors have anything else on them besides orings when going back together? No brass washers or anything?

Yes something wasn’t correct
What about the top end of it, the injector height, does it need adjusting or is it pre-set?
Excellent video 👍🏿👍🏿
Thanks for the visit
Aren't you suppose to tighten the injector then loosen then torque to 30 ftlb to prevent timing plunger from sticking?
yes if your going by the book this is diy on the side of the road
@@StickShiftRacing if you do it right the first time you shouldn't have to do it again .I was taught to do is all .
Thank you great video
Do you need to run an overhead or is it okay to leave as is?
How many footpounds to torque the injector bolt.

How do you find the top dead center?

yes
That's a great job
thanks bro
What’s a normal oil pressure on this engines mine do 15 idle & 30/35 driving this is Normal ???
as the engine wears yes … your getting to a point the you will need an in frame
It sure would be nice to hear the torque value’s for someone that has not done a million of them.
I’ll make sure I start including it my bad bro sometimes im just rushing to knock em out and record at the same time
Injector hold down is 30 ft pounds
Since you are so concerned about bending a push-rod, why not bar the engine over with a breaker bar on the dampener nut?
I’m not running overhead and I’m confident on seating the pushrod however that’s a good point I’ll make sure to include that in the next video
Where did you get the injectors?
from a website now sure
I knew I recognized that trk…. Gary cool af 😎….great video sir
For what reason why he dont adjust the valves?
York PA Freightliner repair,
Should not pull in new injector in with the hold down.
😊

Wow. What a Butcher. I’m just a shade tree. But Never treated My engine like That 🙈
You didn't do valve adjustment nor injector adjustment... 🤦
