Thank you so much for watching, and big thanks to Jasper for sending me a copy (forgot to mention in the video)! Again, for my full recommendation list, download the sample library buyer's guide for free: www.christophersiu.com/best-cinematic-orchestral-libraries Enjoy, and thanks again!
I’ve also been waiting for this one for ages. Time to tell the kid’s Christmas has been cancelled as their dad is buying this instead. Thanks for the video!
The library sounds decent. It sucks there isn't a Violin 2 section but, I do like the fact they made quiet sustains and real sordino was recorded. I just wish it had the Violins 2 section and maybe different legato sounds for each articulation and a vibrato control.
The infinite Marcato is really nice, because most string libraries the marcatos are not very playable, maybe just as an ending chord, but here it seems you can really get into an intense and dramatic chord progression.
For those of you like myself who prefer using keyswitches, search on UA-cam for "How To Cycle Between MIDI Channels Using Keyswitching In Kontakt". You should be able to use the multiscript by setting up all the artitulations in 1 kontakt patch on seperate midi channels, and then keyswitch between the instruments
Can you give an overview over the ranges? A lot of libraries for instance stop at G6 for violins or G4 for cellos, which makes even compositions like Brahms (Triple concerto) or Chopin (Cello sonata) impossible to be played with the libraries. Thanks!
I’d like to see a comparison between this and Cinematic Strings 2 from CS and Areia from Audio Imperia. It feels like Pacific is a good middle ground out of these three. Performance Samples and Audio Imperia have worked together before so their overall style might not differ too much in general. Maybe layering these would be great 🤔 (for a more hyped action-like sound)
Thanks for letting me know it has been released by posting this video! I've been checking the website every couple of days for months for this one to release.
Does Pacific have multi-timbral support? The purpose being, to be able to load one instance of Pacific and distribute articulations to each midi channel, thereby saving cpu resources?
Hmmmm - I was having hard time deciding which next string library to get and NOW this comes out... : / By the way, do you also have VISTA from Performance Samples? I'm curious if they sound a lot different, or compliments each other.
I do! I'll likely do a comparison vid on them, but Vista is a tad more expressive and detailed, due to the smaller sections. Pacific is more comprehensive and larger-sounding. They compliment one another I'd say, although the styles are relatively similar. If you had to go for one, I'd start with Pacific.
In my opinion, the violin high notes sound softer than CSS even though the legatos aren't as good. I also feel like, from violins to cellos, the instrument's timbers sound too similar it becomes even hard to distinguish which instrument is playing and it sort of removes the string's soul.
I have vista and it's a great layering library. I'm not a fan of the spiccatos in this library as I hear them in Pacific. Nice overall string library. The only only articulation I've been considering these days is sordino and these do sound nice here. The whispers are great too. But in this regard I'm leaning towards OT Berlin CS library. It's pretty dang hard to top that library for that specific sound. Thanks for this video review!
Wow, what an awesome-sounding library! A string library is going to be my next big purchase (to replace my current method of layering Hollywood Strings with BBCSO Discover) and this may well be it!
Good question! They're quite similar to my ears, but for a well-rounded package, Pacific is the way to go. Vista has smaller sections and more romantic vibe overall, so if you want that covered as well, pick it up!
If you watch Blakus’s demo of this library, 2nd violins can be mimicked very easily with small pitch modifications on the 1st violins. Check out his demo.

Jasper's team is... Jasper 😍 he does all the programming himself.

Hope they're not too angry! :D

Exactly!
Saves time as you don’t have to crossfade between Marcato and Sustains/Longs
Definitely one of the best string libraries I've heard! I'm actually thinking this is going to become my new main library for strings!

28:32 please the name of that beautiful piece with harp!!!!!?
Yes! It was the longest beta-stage development for a sample library that sounded 100% from the first preview!🎵🎻
Love it!
Oh my .. such a beautiful strings! And you are the perfect to demo the library
Thank you very much!

The highes violin is G#6
Does It has Vibrato Control?

Cool idea!
I would actually add Spitfire BBC Symphonic Orchestra Strings to that too.
The pizz sounds.....

Glad to help!

@@ChristopherSiu thanks for the reply. I do have VISTA too :)

Fair! Thanks for sharing Paul.

Why is there an onset delay when playing the spiccatos?
no drm license on it? So vulnerable

Awesome Mike! :)
If there was a give away, would I be in time for once??? All the best and a happy new year!
Alas there was not giveaway for this library! Merry Christmas!
Did you really refer to the sordino strings as “light and buttery”?😮
…Thanks for the review
I really did! To be fair, everything this library does has an air of creaminess to it. :)
EXCUSE ME DOES THIS LIBRARY HAS ANY KEYSWITCHES OR NOT AT ALL.?
For Bow Direction and Sustain / Legato.
Nice walkthrough Chris 🙏🙌 As you say, people have been waiting for this one for "soooo long"! 😅. Hope it lives up to users expectations!
Definitely does to my ears! Thank you!
Dude you're so quick with the reviews. Thanks for the vid! :)
Haha I try Tom. Thanks so much!
I'm also very excited it's finally out! I have it downloading now. Always great to hear your thoughts and perspective, Chris!
Thanks so much! Enjoy!
Very smooth and great sound! I really like FX-sounds and harp! 😃
Indeed!
Is it fixed in only having the articulations on each separate track or are there key switches as an option?
No articulation keyswitches, as far as I'm aware!
which one would you buy? vista or pacific strings?
Good question! They're quite similar to my ears, but for a well-rounded package, Pacific is the way to go. Vista has smaller sections and more romantic vibe overall, so if you want that covered as well, pick it up!
Finally!!!!!! Thanks for the review, Chris.
My pleasure!
Very nice walkthrough Chris!! Very nice library!
Thank you kindly!
the way you played that harp. truly the GOAT.
Haha thanks :)
Awesome overview Chris. Thanks!
My pleasure!
there is a violins 2 ?

Hope I win this! Or…get this. 😂😊
Get it 🥹
@@ChristopherSiu I just might. :)
@@ChristopherSiu Got it! :)
Sounds amazing!
Agreed!
Thanks for the video, this strings library is just sooooo beautiful...
Always a pleasure!
