One thing I disagree with is Anakin and Obi Wan fighting side-by-side to fend off the hordes of clones. Not because the Mustafar fight was the best, but it still doesn't line up with the fight in episode 4. Vader seems to have no problem in episode 4 fighting Obi-Wan and neither does Obi-Wan with Vader. Yes Obi-Wan could probably sense that Vader had been consumed even more by the dark side even more at that point, but in that fight there doesn't seem to be a flicker of good in Vader. Vader would need a very good reason to fight Obi-Wan without hesitation other than just being consumed by the dark side
I get what you were going for with the change of Anakin's character but it undermines Obi-Wan's line "He ceased to be Anakin Skywalker and became Darth Vader. The good man that was your father was destroyed". The difference between Anakin and Darth Vader should be night and day. However I love how you made reference to a lot of other corner of the eye type lines from the OT and this was a very entertaining ride. Very well done.
Obi-Wan was also rationalizing a lie he himself told Luke in A New Hope in that moment. (As opposed to being honest and just admitting that he lied to spare Luke's feelings. It's a horrible moment in the original trilogy.) I think this fan fiction is a much more realistic portrayal of how people actually behave. It's certainly less melodramatic.
SPOILER INCLUDED 1:28:27 Pretty certain this would earn the film an automatic R rating, which George Lucas and Hollywood would never allow for a STAR WARS movie. 2:16:21 How could Yoda walk while carrying two babies with both arms if his back's just been broken and he now needs a walking stick? I think you should've killed Grievous, otherwise people would ask why we don't see him in the original trilogy. (You should only have to watch the prequel trilogy and the original trilogy, you shouldn't have to see an extra anthology movie to find out what happens to a major character.)
Found the first one, hilariously terrible for the first few minutes. But I'm HOOKED. You know your shit. I'd love to see another installment. Thanks for this, it's great!
BanditIncorporated The point obiwan made that he saw anakin put down his lightsaber aren't they supposed to make a replica and put there original down?
I was with you up until the third Skywalker child. I thought that was kind of pointless, but to be honest that was the only thing out of your prequels that really bothered me. I like how you handle Anakin's turn to the dark side. I like how Yoda never uses a light saber. I like how Darth Maul is a proper important character who doesn't get killed off early. I like all the political intrigue and espionage and shit. The plot is dense and complex without being overwrought or self-contradictory. These would probably make better films than the official prequels. So yeah, all around, hats off!

True, I think they're should have been one just not as crazy as the Mustafar one because it was tensionless and was video game like , i think them fighting in a building then Obi Wan cutting off Anakins legs but trying to save him. But the place blows up as there leaving and he catches on fire and Obi Wan drops him in and runs away. Kinda like what happened to Two Face in the Dark Knight
Agree, so many great scenes. You treat them like real people. 1:03:00 was really emotional, due to how long we've thought of this character as nothing but 100% evil (5+ episodes).
It'd be really interesting to see this trilogy be made into an actual film series. Of course it'd never happen because it'd mess with present canon and all the fans of the official prequels would get all up in arms. But with a few touch ups, this could be a truly fantastic star wars trilogy imo.
It's official: I have now adopted these films as canon. Nothing anyone can say or do will make me think otherwise! Gosh I wish there was a way for you to pitch this idea to Disney so they can make a reboot Prequel trilogy. You have some serious talent as a writer and director that it's a shame that your reduced to making UA-cam videos instead of big budget blockbusters. And yes I would very much like to see that anthology movie, no matter how long it takes.
@Jedi Knight I had the same problem but I think it can be solved in the anthology movie. Vader is searching for who killed his son. Palpatine simply makes it look like ex-Jedi who had discovered Anakin was behind the Black Sunset and retaliated. This motivates him to take over the Chimera and hunt Jedi. Obi Wan would have to confront him over that and that could motivate the New Hope duel.
You have obviously put a lot of time and effort into this. I love that you have put Tarkin in this story. My biggest issue with the prequels was that George was surrounded by yes men who wouldn't challenge him on anything. In the OT Gary Kurt Lawrence Kasden and Irvin Kèrsherner would challenge Lucas on story ideas they didn't like.
I don't really like how Anakin is portrayed in this series honestly. He doesn't really chose the dark side so to speak, he more of falls into it. He's manipulated and pulled into it as if he is a bumbling child not knowing what to do. And then the whole fighting with Obiwan thing at the end? So outside of character. The point of the fight in the original prequels was to show that obiwan needed to stop him and would not be able to live with himself if he didn't. So them fighting and Obiwan winning is important not only to Anakin but it rounds off Obiwan's story as well, with him being satisfied that in the end he saved Anakin from himself. And Anakin's motivation could have been approached in a number of ways, a command from the Emperor that he involuntarily had to do, a me or him situation based off of obiwan coming after him, or even dedicating himself to the whole extinction of the Jedi thing. It just doesn't sit well with me honestly, yes Anakin needs to be redeemable but he also needs to be a Sith Lord and a villain. Yes the Emperor should have been a big factor in that role but Anakin should have been the main enemy in the last part of the saga. He wasn't here and that was really disappointing to me in some of the best fan made movies I've ever seen. This is wonderful and really good. Just Anakin should have been a bit different and more the center of attention. A lot of this movie felt like Obiwan was the protagonist, and it shouldn't really be that way. Other than that, great series. Here's a cookie for making a wonderful story that I will probably watch multiple times.
Karl Tanner I wasn't trying to say that the Anakin in the prequels was great but they did do some things right. He was driven by his need to save his wife from dying, relatable and feasible character motivation. He chose the dark side, after reporting Palpatine to the counsel he intervened because he was the only one that could teach him the power he sought. Now a Jedi killer, he had made his choice. Shitty dialogue and questionable acting aside, the prequels made Anakin a villain that was able to take on the legacy of Darth Vader. Yes he was manipulated in the canon, but it was more his choice than something he just happened to fall into because of his relationship with Palpatine. In these movies, Anakin did something similar in blowing up the Jedi temple but the reasoning was not something as big as saving the mother of his children, it was that he wanted the war to stop. Which is kind of relatable but was not believable. The act of destroying the temple during a funeral is a radical thing to do, and although he had hatred for the war he was outside of his character. That's another thing with these movies was that Anakin was established as this one character, and yes the whole point was for him to change into Vader, but he did things that were random and just seemed to further the plot.
Watason 723 I can get past the fact Obi is a main character because he is.... he is one of the 3 like Originals-Luke,Leiah and Han Prequels-Anakin,Pademè and Obi-Won Disney BS-Rey,Finn and Poe We follow all 3 of these characters
I would like to challenge you to now do a Kenobi Film and a Rogue One that will fit in with series. Maybe a Han Solo Movie and a Clone Wars Series set between phantom menace and attack of the clones.
Oh my gosh... Bandit! That was phenomenal! I just finished this and I couldn't wait to comment my love for this movie. I remember the day that your Attack of The Clones - What it should have been came out, and I loved it. I loved the first and the second, but then I watched this one... I will always remember this movie and it will be an inspiration for my future career in movies. I'm watching it so late after it came out, just because I didn't have the time to get around to watching it.... and can I tell you... it was worth the wait! I will definitely re-watch this trilogy, in fact I've already watched the first two twice to recap my memory before I watched this one for the first time. This movie is now in my top 3 favorite Star Wars movies, and if it had a larger budget, live action, and such I can see it being my favorite star wars movie. Not only that, but it also made the original trilogy way more interesting, and only improved them in my eyes. I would be so disappointed if you don't make the sequel to this movie, because the only real complaint I have with it... is I think it needs even more! Of course its already a long video and it does DEFINENTLY deserve a sequel! I love your channel so much and I watch every video you put out. I cannot wait to see what beast of a channel you turn into Bandit. P.S. Those little things you added where you took one line from the original and put a little cameo type thing into these... genius... pure genius... It really shows how much love and effort you put into making these. Love you Bandit!
Hey thanx so much man, it means a lot to hear you say that. Cos it took a lot out of me to make this, so its great to know people enjoy it. And yeah I'm planning to make the anthology and have it ready by the end of the year, to release around the same time as Episode 8 comes out. I might release it initially as an audiobook, then animate it later :D
That's awesome! I'm honestly just as excited to see your anthology movie as I am to see The Last Jedi. Which is saying a lot because the Star Wars franchise is very close to me.
BanditIncorporated That's awesome! I'm honestly just as excited to see your anthology movie as I am to see The Last Jedi. Which is saying a lot because the Star Wars franchise is very close to me.
Same for me today, July 2021... they're really awesome... not too many space fights though, for those STAR WARS fans of that aspect, but im all about jedi and Sith and lightsabers so it's all good for me... but yeah, I binged them all today haha
The thing is that Anikan had anger and frustration and all these emotions built up towards the Jedi and republic for years in this version... and don't forget that Anikan destroyed the entire order in the real prequels not just murdering children
+Tauno Tihane his anger didn't feel genuine... Even if you watch the clone wars it it doesn't make up for the lack of events that have a real effect on the character... I feel like bandit could have build up to the end of clone wars better but he did do a better job than Lucas did
In "Ancient Times " the Jedi & Sith used traditional metal bladed swords, before the ProtoSabers. ProtoSabers were powered by a battery hooked to their belts, with a cord running up to the saber. The "Downside " to saber was if the cord was ever severed, then the saber would be deactivated. It was the SITH who developed the current cordless lightsaber. Also I like your version of the prequels, But the only criticism "NitPik" is Talon & Maul could not be siblings, because Maul is Zavrack & Talon is a Tweelik (spellings may be wrong with their species. Finally YES, Talon is SEXY.
He explained it in the phantom menace redo but then kinda forgot it with this one, and the colors... he said initially it wasn't THE talon, he just chose her cuz she looks like Maul and such...but then went full non zabrak at this one lol... all good, like kid above said, simple fix
This was awesome!! You should definitely make your own version of episodes 7 8 and 9! This was amazing!!! I want more out of this Alternate universe!!!
@@SirDankleberry most people and also filmmakers/students say that a new hope is actually a perfect film. Its got comfortably the best story out of the whole saga which is why it is a very interesting and certainly an extremely exciting film. Especially the first half of the film which is without a doubt perfect and arguably better than any other star wars act.
I think the prequels go overboard and I would rather see a guy that seems more easily saved than what we got. That, and there are 20 years or whatever between this and Ep 3, so plenty of time for bad-ass-ness, that is better imagine perhaps that spelled out.
Wow, that was an evening well spent. Had some major goosebumb moments. Thank you very much for making this, Must have been a lot of work. All 3 stories are smart, creative, original, very well written, really form a trilogy and ad a lot of great arcs to a whole bunch of characters and the whole story for all 6 movies. The plot of the original prequals doesn't come close to this. You could pursue writting for a living. You've got talent. Ps. I would love to hear and see what you could do with the next one you had planned.
One flaw i can point out is in your prequels Anakin spends the whole trilogy fighting for Alderaan yet in A New Hope he lets Tarkin destroy it for no reason…even after Leia gives them the location of the rebel base….in your prequels this is his wife’s home planet…only excuse is “the dark side corrupted him” but if that’s the case then why does he save Luke in the end…you made Anakin care too much about Alderaan it’s not consistent with the original trilogy
This rewrite is so damn confusing. The obsessive need to explain small lines from the originals, yet having Talon become Yoda's new apprentice despite him later declaring Luke as "too old." The irony is that this trilogy rewrite is actually a pretty solid B-movie SF series, but it feels all over the place as a SW story. Edit: And really? Padme's family can just randomly pop around for a surprise visit and then told to come in as "she probably won't be too long." It's a galaxy-spanning story but sure, let's act like it's all happening within a single US state. And this is why Disney and other companies need to be held to a greater standard, so future writers know to actually think about things.
One other thing I realized...based on 26:54 in Maul's confession, he knew Darth Sidious was Chancellor Palpatine. Despite this, in What AoTC Should Have Been, Palpatine coordinates the capture of Maul. Wouldn't this have led to Maul possibly spilling the beans on Palpatine's true identity to his captors, thus ruining Palpatine's plans, or at least making them way harder? Palpatine seems like someone who would *know* that Maul knows his secret.
This has been one of my favorite Star Wars media ever- I have a list of stories and documenteries on my phone that i listen to at work, and your star wars rewrite saga is one of my most repeated. I know it entirly by heart now~ I would really love it if more was made about it, like the third skywalker child, and the darth vader vs grieves story. I actually feed saddened that this version of Talon isen't canon, cause i love her so so much. Keep up the amazing work! I love your stories!
Also, I think if you decide to do a movie in between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, you should explain how Darth Vader's face became damaged and ravaged as shown at the end of Return of the Jedi. It is explained in the original prequels (as bad as they were) but not here, so I say YES to the in between movie!
Overall I loved this trilogy, but there's kind of a glaring plot hole with Anakin never turning evil. You claim slaughtering a temple full of children makes him irredeemable, but by that reasoning you have to re-write a new hope too to edit out the part where he has an entire planet blown up.
Stuff like this makes me so happy yet sad at the same time. So much wasted potential by studios when they have so much lore to pull from. Smh. Brilliantly done man ✅

Just Anakin should have been a bit different and more the center of attention. A lot of this movie felt like Obiwan was the protagonist, and it shouldn't really be that way. Other than that, great series. Here's a cookie for making a wonderful story that I will probably watch multiple times.
Oh yeah and Talon's storyline is by far my favorite part of these videos. 5 stars man.
and anakin wasn't a bumbling manipulated child in the canon prequels?
Karl Tanner
I wasn't trying to say that the Anakin in the prequels was great but they did do some things right.
You're wrong.
Watason 723 I can get past the fact Obi is a main character because he is.... he is one of the 3 like
Originals-Luke,Leiah and Han
Prequels-Anakin,Pademè and Obi-Won
Disney BS-Rey,Finn and Poe
We follow all 3 of these characters
Great but
WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO THE THIRD SKYWALKER CHILD
Abserd watch to the very end over the voice actor parts and everything he says their might be an end credits scene.
Where do you think Disney got ray
@@waitingvoice8391 ah yes, Disney stole an idea from a video in 2016,and wrote it into their Star Wars movie in 2015
I know the 2nd time I heard him say it
But it was more of a joke so I left it
“Palpatine was making herself something to eat” 🤣
I would like to challenge you to now do a Kenobi Film and a Rogue One that will fit in with series. Maybe a Han Solo Movie and a Clone Wars Series set between phantom menace and attack of the clones.
Lena Oxton YESSS! HIM DOING A KENOBI FILM WOULD BE AMAZING!
Lena Oxton YES YES YES, a thousand YES'S
How about a series?
I just binge watched all three of these and they are my new canon.
Tyler Crain lol same. Get this guy and Star Wars Theory together and just make their own series
Yea me too,I really need him to remake the sequels
Same for me today, July 2021... they're really awesome... not too many space fights though, for those STAR WARS fans of that aspect, but im all about jedi and Sith and lightsabers so it's all good for me... but yeah, I binged them all today haha
Kills children is a step too far, but blowing up the Jedi temple is redeemable
The thing is that Anikan had anger and frustration and all these emotions built up towards the Jedi and republic for years in this version... and don't forget that Anikan destroyed the entire order in the real prequels not just murdering children
But that ended the clone wars.
maybe that is his redemption... the fact that he wasnt doing it for himself
YEP 8 or 9 kids are killed CANT BE REDEMED but kill hundreds or mabye even THOUSANDS redemeable
Simple fix...half siblings with the same father
He explained it in the phantom menace redo but then kinda forgot it with this one, and the colors... he said initially it wasn't THE talon, he just chose her cuz she looks like Maul and such...but then went full non zabrak at this one lol... all good, like kid above said, simple fix
He explained very clearly that he was disregarding all EU/Legends stuff in the first episode rewrite
Fantastic, but the Anakin Obi-Wan duel NEEDS to be in any potential re-write of the prequels. Would have been flawless had you incorporated it in
This was awesome!! You should definitely make your own version of episodes 7 8 and 9! This was amazing!!! I want more out of this Alternate universe!!!
How about Episodes 4 5 & 6 and rewrite War & Peace Great Expectations
Around 2:14:20 "The 2018 Dark Side Lexus"
David Bussell I heard that too
1:29:33 “Palpatine’s making herself something to eat...”
wait was that nostalgia critic at the end I couldn't tell
Yep.
Didn't you see the video where he explained how he wanted Doug walked voice for the end
Yeah that was him. A bunch of us tweeter hassarred him to record the line a day or so ago :D
+BanditIncorporated oh OK well I hope u do new hope and thx for responding
+BanditIncorporated yeah I saw the video but I was wonderinhg if u actually got him...great movie these r so much better than the actual prequels
We need the anthology movie!!!
Damn still watching this almost four years later I come back to your what if more then I do the prequels lol
13:04 --- *YUUZHAN VONG REFERENCE ?!*
The DORUK the only thing truly foreign in the Galaxy far far away
The DORUK don’t forget that Sidious was wearing Revan’s robes from the flashbacks in KOTOR while on the mountain at the beginning!
Yes the pug agrees With your post
The Vong came after the empire fell. So no lol
It could have been a ancestor to the vong or the robot who the vong would rebel against.
Thanks for keeping General Grievous. He's one of my favorite prequel villains.
he actually predicted palpatine's marriage in rise of skywalker
i like this one... but the anakin/Darth Vader character is still fucked up..
TrakosHD kjj
But this one makes more sense.
Padme Married You-Know-Who!!!!! Why'd she marry Voldemort!!! Ohhh you mean Anakin, right.
Revenge of the sith was the only perfect prequel (apart from dialogue)
It’s my 3rd favorite Star Wars Movie
Probably my 4th or 5th. Definitely not perfect.
Its my 1th
More exciting then A New Hope, better in a lot of ways too.
Loved it! Only problem is Vader. He isn't a badass at all. I'd rather just stick with the prequels for Anakin's turn
Yea he kind of does nothing
And that says a lot.
how dare you speak against me
chokes
NO PLS! I promise it won't happen again
I think the prequels go overboard and I would rather see a guy that seems more easily saved than what we got. That, and there are 20 years or whatever between this and Ep 3, so plenty of time for bad-ass-ness, that is better imagine perhaps that spelled out.
LMFAO! I look up right in time to see "Tell my brother's wife I love her" right before he crashes into a mountain
I love how you show a small sign of the light side in palpatine in that one scene
I should be learning for school right now... but then this showed up..
Good....goooooooooddddddd. With each passing moment you make yourself less educated :D
+BanditIncorporated Ha!
Australian
+Jay D. Howard quick question, how did you not know he was Australian? Surely you would've figured that out due to the accent alone...
+Jay D. Howard not trying to be mean or anything, though, so don't take this question the wrong way
Does anyone know the song that starts playing during Old Papa Palpatine's Flashback at 1:03:43 ???
Great job Bandit, i would love to see the anthology movie.
Also Bandit, if you could rename the movies, whT would they be?
Wow... im speechless on what a masterpiece this spin is!! Well done to you all. Thanks for the story.
Fun fact: If you were to (at the time) play this at a Los Angeles theatre, this work could've been eligible for an oscar.
1 thing I would add is if obi wan said goodbye Anakin when he looked back
One flaw i can point out is in your prequels Anakin spends the whole trilogy fighting for Alderaan yet in A New Hope he lets Tarkin destroy it for no reason…even after Leia gives them the location of the rebel base….in your prequels this is his wife’s home planet…only excuse is “the dark side corrupted him” but if that’s the case then why does he save Luke in the end…you made Anakin care too much about Alderaan it’s not consistent with the original trilogy
Still gonna go out on a limb and say there is DEFINITELY a demand...any chance of you making an anthology?
“Maul fires an angry stare at Qui Gon...”
Maul:...you know I killed you in a movie right
One other thing I realized...based on 26:54 in Maul's confession, he knew Darth Sidious was Chancellor Palpatine.
129:25 I didn't know Palpatine was that hungry lol
And that attractive.... 😏
Do the anthology pls I really want it !!!!
I know this is several years late and it's just a nitpick, but "Mandalorian iron" is called Beskar in canon.
this is awesome but I'm not a huge fan of the triplett thing
He explained why he did that, and I think it's brilliant...
Its kinda cool
Phaire Couchpotato but what happens with the child later
I love that obi one is holding a Star Trek comunicator
This has been one of my favorite Star Wars media ever- I have a list of stories and documenteries on my phone that i listen to at work, and your star wars rewrite saga is one of my most repeated. I know it entirly by heart now~ I would really love it if more was made about it, like the third skywalker child, and the darth vader vs grieves story. I actually feed saddened that this version of Talon isen't canon, cause i love her so so much.
Keep up the amazing work! I love your stories!
Wow, I literally started crying when palpatine had his flashbackthingy
My favorite part of this rewrite honestly.
2:14:54 I respect your determination to record this at such a late hour. (salutes to Bandit) You are an amazing youtuber Sir Bandit Inc :D
He explained that the face getting messed up was because of the Dark Side.
@BlueSpider: Yeah, I can see Vader's face getting ravaged because of his fight with General Grevious.
***** A couple of the scars on his face definitely, but the rest is caused by the dark side messing up your face
Brilliant. Tense and full of unexpected surprises. Nothing like anything I've felt since I learned Darth Vader was Luke's father.
Overall I loved this trilogy, but there's kind of a glaring plot hole with Anakin never turning evil. You claim slaughtering a temple full of children makes him irredeemable, but by that reasoning you have to re-write a new hope too to edit out the part where he has an entire planet blown up.
Joshua Moyer and he killed millions of people and a lot of rebels as well
i mean it wasn't him who decided to blow up the planet
I love how he just sat there and let Tarkin destroy the planet his wife is on
Stuff like this makes me so happy yet sad at the same time. So much wasted potential by studios when they have so much lore to pull from. Smh. Brilliantly done man ✅
i believe rots is better ngl
mostly because its sort of in the form of a shakespearen tragedy
What is the music at 1:03:50 and 2:15:30?
